PART 4
"What do you mean he left with Chakor? Why didn't you stop him?!" Ranvijay thundered.
"I gave you one simple task, Imli, one simple task, and you screwed it up big time! Have you forgotten how hard was it for me to convince Suraj to do what I have planned?" he continued.
"No, bhaiya, I did what you tell me. I placed the letter as you said. I know Suraj saw it because he got very upset and called Chakor to his office. I thought they will be fighting about it but..."
"But what, Imli? What?! Instead of resignation letter you gave him a love letter with Chakor's name? That's what you did, didn't you?" Ranvijay's face turned red in anger. "Don't you want him to marry you, Imli? Or you're so comfortable acting as his lover all your life?" he questioned cynically.
"Please don't say that, bhaiya. I love Suraj. I love him very much. That is why I agreed to be a part of your plan to kick Chakor out of his life. I am trying my best to make him fall in love with me but he looks disinterested in me. If Chakor is around, he treats me with love and passion but when she is out of his sight, he gets back to his routine and treats me like a friend," Imli got a little teary-eyed at the end of the sentence.
"I tried persuading him to divorce her. I even showed him my genuine character by advising him not to continue with this fake marriage. But, Suraj is always lost in his own thoughts when I start talking about him and Chakor."
"Imli! Ranvijay interrupted. "Stop talking bullsh*t! We don't want Suraj to break this marriage. Chakor should be the one doing it so Suraj will be in good terms with his parents. Only then they will let him remarry with any woman of his choice and that woman will be you! You are going to make him fall in love with you! Do you understand?! I can give ideas only! I cannot be following you and Suraj around and help you seduce him, for god's sake"! Ranvijay yelled in ire.
"But... but he never spends time alone with me, he always walks away when I near him," Imli murmured in disappointment.
"Then drug him, seduce him but make sure you do it where Chakor could see it," Ranvijay proposed.
"I will, bhaiya. He will be mine very soon. I am tired of waiting for them to get divorced based on their own will. Chakor is not giving up on him and he seems to be okay with it. From this moment on, Imli's game starts," Imli looked gritty.
"That's my Imli! Remember, only after Suraj and Chakor are separated, both of us can achieve our dreams. It's all in your hands now. Make sure he doesn't slip away," Ranvijay's devilish grin was visible after he finished those lines.

"Aawww, this hurts," mumbled Suraj while holding his puffy nose. As he gradually regained consciousness, he saw a blurred silhouette of a woman a few feet away from him. He noticed that he is in an air-conditioned room which smells like iodoform. Blinking his eyes a few times, the image became clearer and clearer and he saw Chakor staring at him without any emotion in her eyes. His nose is no longer bleeding and luckily it wasn't broken.
"You did this to me, you hurt me till I bleed," Suraj said to Chakor in disbelief. "All these time, I never spoke to you and I was safe, but today, I tried communicating with you but all you could do is injure me, that too on my face?!" his tone changed to rough but Chakor didn't react at all.
"You see, Mr Rajvanshi... before she could continue, he interrupted, "Oh cut the crap, Chakor! Stop with this Mr Rajvanshi Mr Rajvanshi talks," he looked agitated with her calling him by his surname. "What do you want? Divorce, isn't it? Why don't you ask it straightway instead of beating around the bush?" he gets back to his normal tenor and Chakor looked calm seeing him in such state.
She sat beside his hospital bed, looked at him in the eyes, "Suraj, I don't like people touching me for no reason and you have no right to touch me. The mangal sutra' around my neck doesn't give you the right to lay your hands on me anytime you want. Yes, I wanted to talk to you about our marriage but I didn't send in any resignation letter. I don't need it because I want a divorce from you. Once we have filed the petition, I will move out from the house and you can do whatever you want to do with your life," Chakor looked tranquil than before while saying those words.
"What makes you think that I wanted the divorce?" Suraj asked just to know what is running in her mind. Chakor grinned, "Really, you're going to ask me this as if you don't know anything?"
"I just want to know what you think, Chakor," said Suraj.
"Well, I don't think anything about this, Suraj. I know we don't get along. I know we both married each other because we respected Ma and Pa's choice but divorce is better than lifelong misery. Ma and Pa would understand if we explain this to them. Besides, you also look very happy with Imli. You should get married to her and live the life that you deserve," added Chakor, assertively.
Suraj was puzzled. He had no idea what to add on. He wasn't sure if he should be happy that he will finally be emancipated from this marriage or should he be second-guessing his choice. With doubts in his mind and uncertainties in his heart, all he said was, "So, when are you planning to tell Ma and Pa about your decision?" He still wanted to be the 'good' one infront of his parents. For once, he didn't think about what will happen to Chakor if they get divorced. His insecurities about himself and Chakor has made him a self-centred guy and he could not see that his hatred is consuming the good nature in him.
Chakor replied, "Tonight, once I send you and your swollen nose back home."
Something to ponder:
Is Imli being manipulated by Ranvijay?
What do you think Ranvijay's dream is?
Do you think Imli is genuinely in love with Suraj or she has a hidden agenda just like her brother?
Do you think Chakor is doing the right thing or should she wait a little longer till Suraj changes his mind?
Is this the real nature of Suraj Rajvanshi?
