Part 17
Suraj fell asleep on the study table's chair, hugging the IPad with Chakor's image flashing in it. It has been so long since he had a long undisturbed sleep. Keeping his distance from Chakor is not doing him any good emotionally but it makes him determined to hunt down RV as soon as possible. As he was sound asleep, Shikoo rushed into the room, knocking down the coffee table towards the entrance. The loud sound shook Suraj off his slumber.
Suraj : Jeeezzz! What's wrong with you, Shikoo? Blind?
Shikoo : Sorry, Mr Rajvanshi. I rushed here as fast as I could.
Suraj : (Rubbing his eyes) Yeah, I can see that. What do you want?
Shikoo : (Gulped) It's Mrs Rajvanshi. She... She's gone.
Suraj's eyes narrowed as Shikoo's words blended into his thoughts. He got up from the chair, placed the IPad on the table, walked towards Shikoo and grabbed him by his collar.
Suraj : Gone?! What do you mean gone?! Gone where?!
Shikoo : The guards are searching around the neighborhood. There isn't any signs of forced entry into the house; so we assume Mrs Rajvanshi went out on her own.
Suraj : And why the hell I hired you and your mates?! So that my wife goes missing under your watch?! (He paused and let go of Shikoo's collar) If anything, I mean ANYTHING, happens to her, none of you will be having legs to walk!
Suraj ran to the study table and grabbed his IPad. He scrolled down for a few minutes...
Suraj : Come on! Come on! Where are you, baby?
Suraj kept scrolling till the location marker indicated Chakor's whereabouts. A swift relief crossed his heart. He took his jacket from the study table and the next second, exited the room with his car keys. "Don't follow me!" was all he uttered to Shikoo which he accepted with a single silent nod.

Chakor walked around the room, touching everything that her eyes fell onto. The room looked the same just the way Suraj left it. Although he has been absent from there for two weeks, the fragrance of his cologne still lingers around, making her feel his presence. She made a few slow steps towards the glass windows. Due to the dark surroundings and the bright lights of the city, she could see the reflection of her crying complexion on it.
"I wish you're here, Suraj. I wish I could hold you," she murmured, clutching her face with her palms.
It wasn't easy for Chakor to be away from Suraj too. She has been acting like a strong woman but her strength seems to be fading with every passing day. She felt like going crazy as she could see Suraj in every corners of her life.
"I will go crazy without you, Suraj! Aaahhh!" she let out a scream, expressing her agony, tears accompanied her.
A few moments alone without Gauri and the bodyguards seem necessary to submerge into her solitude. Her eyes observed blankly at the view outside of the glass windows. Suddenly, an image of a guy appeared out of nowhere, reflecting over the windows. Instead of panicking, Chakor vacuously looked at the dark figure, "I can see you everywhere now, Suraj," a slight smile escaped her lips. "Guess you'll meet me after I lose my mind," she mumbled at the reflection.
"I didn't fight this hard to see you go crazy, Chakor," Suraj's voice reached her ears as she gasped and turned to face him. Seeing the man she missed so much made her knees weak. She had so much to say but words don't seem to be sufficient to express her overwhelmed feelings. Suraj stood a few feet away from her, extending his arms, inviting her for an embrace and the next minute he felt her warm body against his.
He held her tight without leaving a gap for air to cross between them. He could sense her body shiver in his embrace and all he wanted to do was to make her feel safe. "You shouldn't have left the house without the bodyguards, Chakor. I don't want you to put your life into any kind of risk and you know that," Suraj uttered, placing a kiss on her head, between her hair strands. Chakor tightened the hug, "I know you'll find me wherever I am, Suraj. Staying away from you is what is jeopardizing my life. You left a hole in my heart the day you went missing without saying a word to me," she lifted her head, now facing Suraj, still entwined in his hug.
"So, you'll abscond from our guards? And that too, to my office? Why can't you just go to my room in our house when you miss me?" Suraj smirked.
"It led you to me, didn't it? So, absconding was worth it," she teased him as he wiped her tears away with his fingers.
"What's now, Suraj?" Chakor's hopeful eyes tormented him. He had not planned what to do next but with her question, his heartbeat raced. He has Imli in his custody but RV is still in the loose. Without getting him, he knew peace will not be restored in their lives.
"Did you find Imli? What did she say? Is everything finally going to be okay? Say something, Suraj," Chakor prompted him. He cupped her face with his hands, looked deep into her eyes.
"Sshhh! I will tell you everything but let me savour this moment first, let me see you with all my heart... please..." he glued his forehead to hers and inhaled. The oxygen felt fresher than before with his wife by his side.
"I missed you, Chakor, more than words could say. My day started with you and it ended with you, even when we are far," he placed a soft kiss on her eyelids and the warmth of his lips automated chills all over her body.
"I am so sorry for staying away from you, Chakor. I had no other way because staying near you will hurt you more. I couldn't figure out the truth about the pictures, so I had to go," he gulped as he took her face in his palms. "And now, I know what actually occurred that night and facing you isn't making me feel guilty," his voice softened with the change of expression in Chakor.
"What do you mean, Suraj? What actually happened that night? What is the truth?" her curiosity caught the best of her as her eyes glowed with anticipation. Suraj let go of his grasp from her face and held her right hand.
"Listen to it yourself," he led her out of his office room, towards the lift and they exited the building together.
******************************************************************************
Imli sat on the edge of the bed in her hotel room. She had no way to escape. Suraj's guards are everywhere and with her confession in his possession, escaping is the least that she worries about.
As she was drowning in her own thoughts, she heard a crack on the door and shocked to see her latest guests'. "Suraj? Chakor?" she muttered and her face turned crimson. "I... I am so sorry... I really am... I shouldn't... I shouldn't have done it... Please Chakor, please ask Suraj to let me go... Please...," Imli knelt down infront Chakor, pleading her way to sympathy.
Suraj was agitated with her action, "Cut the crap, Imli! We just entered and you started your drama? We are not here to hear your pity speech. Get up and sit on your bed!" he voiced roughly which bothered Chakor.
"Why are you talking like that to her, Suraj? She is a woman. Please be nice," Chakor stated and Suraj rolled his eyes, putting his hands together infront her. "My dear 'Jagat Matha', please, save your empathy to someone who is worthy of it. Now, sit. You have a compelling story to listen to," he pulled out a chair and ushered Chakor to her seat. She has seen a rude Suraj before but this version of Suraj was new to her. He was ruthless and she could see emptiness in his eyes when he sees Imli. Sensing the anger in his voice, Chakor sat, facing Imli.
"Now, Imli, confess," he directed, leaning against the wall, hands in his pant pockets. Imli wished the Earth to swallow her into a deep abyss because the look on Chakor's face was innocent yet terrorizing. Suraj, on the other hand, looked like a hardhearted murderer who would point a gun at her and pull the trigger without a second thought.
"We don't have the whole night, Imli. Don't waste my time! I have your confession in a video but it would be better if Chakor listened to it directly from you. So, spill it all out," Suraj wasn't interested in her deception any longer. He wanted Chakor to listen to Imli and once the truth is heard, he wanted to take Chakor away from there and send Imli to the authority.
Chakor noticed the troubled look on Imli's face. She somehow could sense that Suraj's presence was menacing Imli. "Suraj, please, let me talk," she took over and signaled Suraj to be silent.
"Look, Imli, I have no idea what Suraj is asking you to confess but all I want to know is what happened that night. I want to know the actuality behind the pictures. Those pictures tormented my life; it snatched my peace and it almost took away Suraj from me. Tell me what happened," Chakor assured Imli that the coast is clear and Suraj will not say anything to her or harm her. Chakor's innocence made Imli feel guiltier. She broke down to tears.
"I am so sorry, Chakor. Love blinded me. My love for Suraj blinded me. The idiocy to own him made me do things beyond the moral boundaries," a lump of choked words formed in her throat as remorse dominated her respiration. Chakor looked at her hoping to get more answers. Suraj was stiff and impassive but chuckled with her response.
"The images... What... What you saw in those pictures were true but it was all... ermm... staged... meaning it was true but not true at the same time... (She paused) It was me and Suraj on the bed but Suraj was not in his senses... He... He was drugged," as she finished the sentence, Chakor's facial expressions changed.
"Drugged? By whom?" she inquired.
"Me and my brother, Ranvijay... We drugged Suraj's drinks on by brother's birthday party and took pictures of him and me on bed," her face turned red and so does Chakor's, "Who took the pictures, Imli?"
"Ranvijay did," and Imli's answer formed a look of disgust on Chakor's face.
"So, you and your brother, Ranvijay, drugged Suraj and stripped him naked and took pictures of him and you without clothes so that it looks as if you both were having an intercourse?" Chakor repeated Imli's sentence in a more complete way. Imli looked at Chakor in disgrace, nodded in agreement and looked down on the floor, unable to face her.
"Okay, care to tell me why?" she was not done yet. She now knows what happened but why seems to be as important as how.
"This is the interesting part, Chakor," Suraj interrupted with a smirk. "Come on, Imli, tell her why you both did all these to us. Tell her what could possibly be the reason for you to break someone's marriage," his look intensified, as if he wanted to see Imli showing her true colours.
"Break someone's marriage? You mean your marriage? You wanted this marriage to break, remember, Suraj! You seek me and bhaiya's help to get rid of Chakor from you, but now, all of the sudden you want her?!" her voice raised and Suraj loosened his shoulders and crossed his arms across his chest.
"I have always been in love with you but you choose this orphan over me?! Bhaiya chose her and you chose her too! Do you think I am crazy to let you go without a fight?!" Imli's face turned malicious with anger. Chakor's jaws dropped with the change in Imli.
"Wow, a total transformation in personality! So, is this the real Imli or the one you portrayed moments ago, seeking Chakor's sympathy?" Suraj raised his eye brows simultaneously, instigating her to speak more.
"You think I am scared of you? You have no idea where bhaiya is and what he has planned for both of you. Bhaiya is not alone and he will definitely find you two and he will take Chakor away from you forever, Suraj! He will also get me out of this mess and you will be mine! Mine forever! If I had to put you in a lifelong coma or a full body paralysis for it, I will not hesitate to do it!" her voice echoed all over the room and Chakor stood up from her seat, shouting, "Imli!"
She walked closer to Imli, grabbed her by her arms and stood her up. "Look at me! I want you to see me in the eyes when I say this, Imli! I have no idea who your brother is nor have I seen him but I know he was Suraj's best friend. Trusting you and your brother has been the greatest mistake Suraj has ever done but mark my words, I will not let him do that mistake again. We have found you and soon your brother will be joining you!" Chakor turned to Suraj, who then confirmed that he got her back.
"Enough with the past stories of how you helped Suraj to get rid of me. I am over that phase! You can keep dreaming about getting your hands on Suraj but dream is all that you have left of. He will never be yours and I know Suraj will not let your brother come anywhere near me. So, technically speaking, it's a waste of my time having this stupid conversation with you when I can spend this wonderful night alongside my handsome husband," she let go of her grip from Imli's arms, and stepped away from her.
"He is mine, Chakor! Mine! I will kill him if I can't have him!" she screamed just when Chakor raised her right hand, smacking it across Imli's face forcing her to stumble on the bed frame and fell on the ground. Chakor's five fingers were imprinted on Imli's left cheek as it began to swell. Suraj looked at his wife in awe, not believing how his 'Jagat Matha' suddenly became a 'Jungli billi'.
Not bothered of her action, Chakor walked towards Suraj, pulled him closer to her and placed her lips on his. What started off as a soft kiss grew into a steamy passionate one, leaving both of them breathless and Imli stunned. "Now, live with that image, you loser witch!" Chakor winked at Imli as she exited the hotel room, with Suraj having a million dollar smile on his face. He then called Shikoo and instructed him to hand Imli to the authorities and informed his lawyer and friend, Karan to handle the rest.
"So, what's next? How are we going to get her brother?" Chakor urged Suraj to tell her his plan on catching RV. "That's it?" Suraj asked in disappointment, which brought confusion to Chakor.
"What's it?" she reciprocated, tilting her head, in a cute way, making it irresistible for Suraj to stay away from her.
"Well... (Placing his hands on her waist, he drew her closer) you just kissed me moments ago and instead of talking about where that kiss will lead us tonight, you are being a spoilsport and asking about RV," his eyebrows arched, seeking clarification from his wife.
"My dearest 'Pakhandi', you can get that kiss from me anytime now but with Ranvijay still out on the run, he can cause us harm when we least expect it. You heard Imli, Ranvijay is not alone. Who knows what his plan is. If we want this happiness to last, he should be caught as soon as possible and I know you'll agree with me on this," Chakor inched closer to him and kissed him one more time, this time it lasted for a second.
Suraj grinned yet again, "Our men are looking for him, Chakor. Karan will make official complaint on the siblings when Imli is handed in, so we can expect the police to be on our side to catch him. I promise he'll never be anywhere near you to harm you in any way," he hugged her just to declare that she is safe in his arms.
Consumed in his warmth, an idea clicked her mind. "Suraj... can I say something?" Chakor whispered, at the same time hugging him back tightly and letting go of it to see him nodding at her request.
"Instead of us looking for him, why don't we sketch a plan and allure him to us?" Chakor had a big plan in mind, and after listening to it, Suraj's eyes tapered in astonishment. Soon after, concern lurked his senses knowing that executing this plan will put both of their lives at risk. Instinctively, Chakor's wellbeing was the only thing he was actually worried about, not his.
Something to ponder:
Will Ranvijay come to save his sister?
What will be the master plan to capture Ranvijay?
Will Suraj and Chakor finally get time to confess their feelings or harm is on its way with Ranvijay still on the run?
