My eyes yelled with tears,after reading this...and I am now in love with Suraj even more than before..

Everyone is feeling Bad for only Chakor,as if Suraj is not a human altogether,with the noble act he has done,he has far left behind his jagat maata in that...

Actually majority of viewers are average minded people...there have been two movies released in India,where the directors and actors had invested themselves emotionally,and both the movies explored complex human emotions,everyone had great expectations from the movies,both in terms of collections and praises...but both the movies fell flat of expectations and remained average,the reason behind the failure was that average,normal and opinionated minds failed to connect with the movie characters,and even critics gave a damn to them...but those handful of persons who really watched and understood the movie,and the conflicting emotions the characters portrayed...truly loved it and it became their best ever...
the two movies were,"Tamasha" and "Ae Dil Hai Mushkil"...

Same is the character of Suraj,its really hard very hard to connect with him,his emotions and his deed,but those who does that even a little,they only know at heart,what are they rooting for.
even myself,being a hardcore Suraj fan,I am confessing that even I dont get him fully,but for the little portion that I understand him,I LOVE HIM FOR THAT...

ACTUALLY "UNDERSTANDING SURAJ" IS BEYOND THE CAPACITY OF AVERAGE MINDS...

If in the love of Suraj,Chakor has lost everything,then in her love,even he is left with nothing,and at least Chakor still had her respect intact,along with everyone's sympathy...but as he said,he only got,"badnaami,be-izzati,zindagi bhar ki tanhaai"..

Both Sukor lost themselves in the love of each other,
like Nimmi Di had said,"CHAKOR IS THE BIRD WITH BROKEN WINGS"
For me,"SURAJ IS THE STAR WITH LOST FIRE"

Rabia, if you think suraj's decisions are right and support him.then be with it..but that doesn't mean you can insult other members by calling them average minded...

Udaan is not some epic story...it is just a crap show with a good casting and characters...so pls don't compare udaan or suraj with tamasha or ae dil hai mushkil cuz its an insult to both the films..as to me suraj is now an epitome of stupidity and foolishness

And i may not have that much knowledge about love as you, but that doesn't mean that i am average minded as i definitely understand things way better...

Instead of blaming the so called"average minded audience"..for not "understanding THE COMPLEX suraj rajvanshi" ..please avail to the cvs ,makers and try to ask them to clear the doubts of the "average minded audience"..

Even n ydays intense eye lo with car nd the almost makeup type kiss he reacted immediately we fone rang even chakor took few minutes to cime out of the trance whereas suraj immediately came out of t nd answered fone nd only possibility of him getting call s from imli . Si imli s always present n his conscious

So,as expected I knew that despite of the disclaimer,my comment is gonna create a major sensation

I didn't knew that,from when did the word "AVERAGE" became a cuss word,that being called "AVERAGE" means to be insulted or look down upon...

Now the next paragraph is purely extracted conclusion from a survey conducted by a human psychology department from a leading university,one or my close friend is a part of which...(so dont blame me for that)-

Human minds,especially Indian minds have been classified into three major categories...with examples

1.small minds-the illiterate,unprivileged and uneducated people fall under this category,who have a narrow perspective regarding anything.

Ex-for them a girl is only considered to be decent,if she wears a 3 piece salwar kameez...for them a girl and boy are supposed to involve in a romantic relationship,only after marriage.

2.AVERAGE MINDS-60 % people fall under this category,who are modern in thinking and approach,but that too in a very restrained manner.

Ex-they are okay with a girl wearing western clothing like jeans and top,but no revealing dresses or lbds...they are comfortable in a couple having a romantic relationship before marriage but with no touching policy.

3.Great minds-they are extremely modern in their outlook and sometimes there povs tend to challenge age old theories,time and again,these are the smallest group of people,but with the broadest outlook.

Ex-they mean that a girl is not judged by her clothing and for them a girl covered top to toe is as decent as a girl wearing a bikini with full confidence...physical relationship before marriage is not a topic for even discussion to them,and a live-in relationship is as casual.

So answer me guys...are'nt we all AVERAGE in our thoughts.

The bold decisions and the extremely disconnecting and illogical choices made by Suraj is hard to connect with mediocres like us..

Even I am AVERAGE

If I have accepted Suraj,the way he is,it doesn't means I connect with whatever he does.

I have to make many compromises before accepting him.

And anyone who accepts him,without any compromise,terms or conditions is indeed GREAT

I am again repeating my words-

UNDERSTANDING SURAJ IS BEYOND THE CALLIBRE OF AVERAGE MINDS...

call me extremely obnoxiously arrogant but i take pride in my mind and analytical skills. and yet i can't make heads or tails of Suraj.
then there are Claudia, aradhana, priya, namita, shree, sumo, geet, esha and many many more old timers whose posts and analysis used to charm me. even they can't make sense of Suraj. so if that makes us average minded.. so be it.

i love complex characters but not when i have to refer 'dummy guide for audience' to make sense of the character's action after every darn episode.

you love Suraj by all means go ahead.
do NOT judge those who can't make sense of him.

Chakor's wings are broken because she loved a man who couldn't love her back the way she deserves to be loved. or valued her the way she is meant to be.

Suraj lost his fire because of his own choices.

call me heartless i have less sympathies for the latter category.

I had once called you 'Imtiaz Ali',just for the way you understand human emotions...but I am myself unable to make out how could you only connect with Chakor,and didn't at once even trying to feel for him...as if he is making merry by each passing day.

But let it be,I am well aware of the fact of how much the character has hurt you...

You had said Chakor to be "THE BIRD WITH BROKEN WINGS"...coz what hatred could not do to her,love did it.

In the same way,Suraj is "THE STAR WITH LOST FIRE"...coz what hatred could not do to him,love did it..

I know he has lost his fire due to his own actions,but if only in love he wouldn't had imbibed the feeling ofself-lessness from her,if only she would not have taught him that 'love is sacrifice',he would have done it.

Love has equally destroyed both of them.

And yes,you know it very well that I respect the pov of each and every member,even if they are in a complete contrast with mine.

So here I am requesting you to not be judgmental regarding me.

If according to you,I insulted those who are not able to connect with Suraj then are'nt you also insulting me for my various posts,stating that they don't make any sense...listen dear,I am not a professional writer or analyst,nor I read much...I have a very small world of my own,I have read only a handful of books other than academics..

Regarding anything,if I write someone,its purely what I feel at that very moment...and if it doesn't makes any sense to you...then it doesn't effects me in any manner...

In my opinion,my comment was not insulting to anyone in any form.

Still if it did hurt you,or you felt insulted than I am sorry for that.

Chasa,you took me completely wrong dear,I have not at all insulted anyone calling them to be "AVERAGE MINDED"...just read both of my comments with a cool mind,and maybe you will get me.

And even I know that Udaan is not an epic,and neither I am comparing it with the two movies...but the way relationships,emotions and character developments are portrait in the show,makes it truly different with a different experience altogether..

Why I mentioned the two movies,coz if you Google it,you will know it,how both the movies terribly failed short of expectations,and both critics and audiences slammed the two movies outright,the reason just being that VIEWERS COULD NOT CONNECT WITH THE PROTAGONIST'S OF BOTH MOVIES...

Just like in Udaan,viewers are unable to connect with Suraj.

Dont hurt me saying so,that you don't have knowledge about love as I have...

Trust me,I swear I consider myself to be very immature...and you definitely have much more intellect than me.

I really like the way you understand different things...

If then also,I did hurt you in any manner,then I am sorry.

there is nothing wrong in being called average.

but being called average for not understanding a shoddily written character such as Suraj is ... insulting.

yes!

Suraj is shoddily written character. had that not been the case we wouldn't have needed bullet point presentation justifying his every action or lack of it for every episode.

if one has to find reasons, excuses and justifications for every movement of the character there will be two reasons for it.

1. either the actor is doing a terribly poor job of expressing what the character is thinking. (which is NOT the case here since VJ is a brilliant actor).

2. the character is being senselessly written.

the ONLY reason Suraj survived so long is because VJ is giving his blood, sweat, heart and soul and every damn inch to prop up this character. take VJ out and how many will be writing point by point guidelines for Suraj?

so why am i feeling Chakor's pain but not Suraj's? that's because i am DONE with this character. unless you want me to err bash him... please do not get me started on him. i am being a good girl and trying to limit my snark for him.

i can write my own bullet point presentation as to how pathetic his idea of love is... (or cvs idea i should say)...but that would be futile.

those who loves Suraj will love him regardless.

and those who can't... won't.

we are not being judgmental about you.. you are being judgmental about majority of audience dear.

tell you what.. i am comfortable in my faded tees and capris. i don't judge a girl for wearing a bikini provided temple and crowded market is not the place for it. i won't judge a sari clad woman either as long as i am not told to parade in one. i would rather be mummified.

i judge people only for their thoughts and actions. not clothes or education and etc.

and yes... my 3 am buddy is a guy. someone i have know for decades. but he won't be getting cozy with me in the back seat of the car unless he wants to get hit where it hurts most.

so yes.. i judge Suraj and Imli's 'bond'. for me.. it looks sick.

so which category i fall into?

khair nevermind.. apologies once again if you are hurt by my stance. be it for Suraj or in general. so let us just agree to disagree and call it quits.

Well said Nimmi - I'll take average minded - My self respect is more important to me than a twisted high functioning mind that can actually figure what Suraj is doing to Chakor - which is in reality emotional abuse of the worst kind!
