First of all I believe I did not create an unnecessary buzz my point was valid. Who deserves redemption and who not? depends a lot on human nature and is a very tough ethical question where opinions vary from person to person. In my opinion there is a certain limit to redemption and once you cross those limits redemption is not possible. A cold blooded and heartless murderer like KN deserves NO sort of redemption. Can KN being back all the people he murdered back to life? If they can't get a secound chance than why should he get any chances?
You can call me a "bigger sinner" or anything but I just cannot digest the fact that KN deserves to seek any sort of redemption. For an ethical question like this there are various opinions and I am not saying you are wrong but I cannot accept what you are saying.
Aslesha, I have nothing against your opinions. Of course you can voice them whenever you want.
This whole discussion is generated by a misinterpretation of the word "Redemption" which I used in my comment with the meaning of "atonement for guilt" or "paying off" for your sins. In other words realizing your mistake and suffering for them. From your writing I understand that you are reducing the term to the meaning "salvation" and from here we have the misunderstanding. You think that I thought that KN's redemption will mean him living happily ever after and enjoying life. And I did not. It was my mistake, I should have used the word "paying for his sins" to avoid these type of situations. I should have remembered that the word "redemption" is used wrongly on IF. Here people use this word mostly to refer at their hero who "will be redeemed" and live happily with his heroine. The word it's much more complex and I'll avoid used in the future.
Again, I have nothing against you, I understand your point of view and I am not trying to force my opinions on you which will be totally wrong. I only wanted to make my point regarding "redemption" and specify that from my whole comment which had another idea, you picked only a certain word which generated a discussion about who deserves redemption and who not where my words have been quoted many times and it was never my intention to be part of such a discussion. Of course you can quote, but maybe you should think a little if that person really meant to say this or not, you can ask first. I felt that my words were being twisted and was not apleasant feeling. Think about it: if you put the efforts into writing something and someone picks only a particular word out of everything that you've written and moves the discussion into another direction, wouldn't you feel bad?
Please, let's act mature and end this conversation here otherwise we will end up spoiling the atmosphere and other members don't deserve this. It will lead to nowhere.
I can totally understand your opinion regarding redemption even if I don't agree with it. And is not my place to call you a sinner. A was just talking generally.
Anyway, now this whole debate about sinners amuses me. Do you know that they were people here on this forum last year who were so much against Suraj that they said he doesn't deserve redemption and people who liked him said the same thing that I said to you "everyone deserves redemption" and "the haters" didn't agree with it. Now, look at Suraj, how times have changed, he deserved redemption and other people don't! Maybe we should just let the writers tell the story and convince us about the characters' transformations!
All the best!
