This is My POV about suraj's change of heart after marriage...

In udaan it is shown that Imli's love changed suraj...

( I'm still not convinced that he actually loved imli ) But still I think the little changed man he is now is because of chakor..

She was the one to understand him ( When she saw him outside her home she realized that he do care for imli ) Imli was always doubtful regarding suraj's behavior if she gets married to him...but chakor was the one who kept saying that suraj will accept her...why ? because she knew there's a "good person in him" She even said it after their marriage when he was taking his clothes out of suitcase " Uss din humein ehsaas hova tha k tumhare ander bhi ek acha insaan hai" somehting like this and suraj looked at her ( an eyelock it was ) surprisingly+shocked ...

After marriage she is the one who kept making him realize that he saved imli from bullet...he gave her bichve as gift...etc etc

What imli did in this ?? Nothing in fact she was busy being a good dharam patni for vivaan...chakor was the one who was always with suraj...she dropped they baby's sonograph pics ( or whatever they are called ) so that suraj sees them why ? becayse she knew it will effect him and it did...for the first time he smiled looking at his baby's pic and shared it with chakor ( no matter unknowingly ) ...Because she was the one who kept saying that your kid won't call you dad because she wanted him to feel for his child why ? because she knew that there's a good human living inside him while what imli did ?? nothing...

so for me it's chakor who has brought the changes in suraj and not imli...

As I said its my Personal POV ...please do share your thoughts..

Nice post Jasmene. You really thought quite a bit about this, didn't you?

Now that you have put it out there, it does seem so. It was always Chakor who pushed him towards Imli. Always Chakor!!

Yes nami di this was in my mind for so long now but I got the chance to share it today because I finally solved the email issue...

And yes it's chakor who always pushed him and effected him too maybe...

hmmm..quite interesting observation...

Imli IMO lacks confidence/ trust when it comes to relationships..Suraj has a kind of superiority complex...he never saw Inli as an equal.. I am not sure he loved Imli but had they got hitched their relationship would /might have progressed . he might have become a good dad..

Imli saw Vivaan as a more decent human being,,the kind of respect/ care she got from Vivaan she always wanted from Suraj but never got it . I can see why she fell fr Vivaan..what I cant understand why Vivaan fell for her..Vivaan and Chakor were a very very odd pair..

Suraj sees Chakor as an equal..that is something he grudgingly admires in her..he needs to win her over...and she needs to be won over...BOWLED over actually..not this mushy lovey dovey stuff..but actually win her respect n love and vice versa..as Jasmene said thy need to puch each other and get the best out of each other..

Honestly I thought the same thing. Suraj didn't react until Chakor acted as a catalyst and made him realise he could have something good with Imli. Lets also not forget, Suraj never received love in any form...but Imli had always followed him, listened to him, and was loyal to him, his 'right-hand man' so to speak. He always saw Imli as below him, she was never equal to him, but always an 'adoring fan'/'trusted sidekick' type thing. When Suraj lost that, he pretty much lost his only ally, because neither KN nor Tejaswini cared much for him. Chakor was his enemy and he and Vivaan had no brotherly bond. Imli was someone Suraj trusted and expected care from to some extent...although it took Chakor to make him realise that he should give something back. Chakor changed Suraj, and i always wanted them to have Suraj change for the baby rather than Imli because that would have made more sense...Thats where I feel things got messed up.

I dont know ..maybe you are right .

Maybe that was all because of the baby ...or maybe that was infatuation ,after all imli and suraj spend quite a quality time with each other .

But about chakor eing the one who understand him more ...samjh nhi ayi baat. Itni jaldi saari lover wali quality lana ,mujhe to sahi nhi pagta ...ab patience bhi karlo ,jald milega har mauka 😉

It's a great observation but I still believe Suraj did love Imli.

I believe Suraj loved Imli from the start because there were moments before the marriage when he was struck by her and cared for her but there was always his alter ego that prevented him from realizing it.

He realized late when Imli started caring too much for Vivaan and especially when Vivaan was continually be called the father of the child on Suraj's face. If it was not love, he would never have thought of Imli's happiness and helped Chakor in bringing Imvaan together.

But I also do believe that changes happened because of Chakor as well. She is so selfless and thinks of everyone. She may have been harsh with him but her love was just snatched away from her and he was no less.

Still, she forgave him despite all he did with her. I am not speaking about the swap. After the swap, he was horrible with her by making her a bonded wife which is something she despised and making her do things that she could not, making her drop in her parent's eyes and all that.

She came to save his life because she believed in the good man in him so yes, maybe he was turned by her goodness and he does not realize.

Anyway, my point is he was changed by both Imli and Chakor. If he had not realized his feelings for Imli and tried to be good in order to get her, I am sure he would never have had the change of heart. Infatuation is not something that lasts long. It comes and you are crazy about a person, but then at one point you stop caring. With Imli, he still cares because he loved her so I do not think we can categorize his feelings as infatuation. Chakor had to keep telling him but there were some instances when she did nothing and he still seem to care for her. Like when he was being beaten to death and the three of them come to save him. He took the bullet for her.

When she was accompanying Chakor to her sangeet or some function, he could not stop staring at her. He came at night to see her but did not meet her.

Hey chashmish,nice thought even i also once wondered about suraj"s hriday parivartan...but myself got to the conclusion very soon..

To start with,"SURAJ KABHI BURA NAHI THA,HAAN USME BURAAIYAAN BOHOT THI",for me from the very first day,he was the villanious hero,the most real character of udaan,rahi baat uske "Hriday parivartan" ki toh its becoz of chakor and not imli.it was chakor jisne,"uske andar chhipe hue achhe insaan ko azaad kiya jo uske jhoote ahankaar ka bandhua bana hua tha." as chakor only said this once,she had just made imli the catalyst,and yes suraj never really loved imli,he just realised his duties as a father owing to his own relations to his father,it was all care for imli,that at a man shows for the mother of his child,suraj ko bas 'LAGTA HAI' ki he loves imli jaise kuch kuch hota hai mein Rahul ko lagta tha ki woh Tina se pyar karta tha,its all infatuation,

And yes there are many more parivartan still to be brought in suraj,uski biwi no 1,will do that...

This was very well thought out post Aloo. I like how you reasoned out Chakor's influence on Suraj. I think while she does play a large influence on Suraj. this was started when Suraj realized the value of what he lost with Imli. A chance to have his own family. Unconditional love and trust. And since no one taught him how to go about it like normal, he tried to bully his way into getting it. Hopefully he learns from his mistakes and he does well with Chakor. She has an extra ordinary capacity to forgive and give second chances...
