i started watching mid way...n i hav no idea y hav the thakurs locked d cute sweet adorable girl in d haveli...n wats dat mark on her hand which d dadi of d house gets shocked seeing it???
n who is dat lil girl...she is sooo daammm cute...did she act in any of d previous shows? 😳

Welcome to the forum.

Chakor was mortgaged to the thakur while in her mothers womb. So she belongs to them. The mark is that of a bonded labourer/slave. She is locked up coz she is being treated like a slave and to ensure she does not run away.

I presume that the little girl has acted before. I do not know for certain.

yes it must be like a tattoo...that was a tattoo machine if I am not wrong that they were showing Imli...

In the last episode I saw, Chakor was on her hands and knees cleaning the floor, then she was carrying hot tea for Bhaiyya Ji and his wife, who is sitting there in her silk sari, buying gold necklaces. I was like, HOW can they be okay with a small child doing this work and serving them while they sit and relax on the sofa?!

On Balika Vadhu they showed that an acquaintance of Anandi "buys" a young school-age girl to work in her house. The friend pretends she is adopting the girl but really she is purchasing a servant. Shiv and Anandi ended up rescuing the girl.

This is all so sad...I am so glad these shows are showing what is happening in some parts of India, maybe it will help to stop all these practices:(

Yes...those people are totally heartless and they also have 2 children of their own I don't understand how they can do that with someone else's child when they have children too...they aren't worth being called humans...

yes if such practices still exist in the world today hopefully this will create awareness and stop it...

Sadly bonded labour exists till this date... Majority of the developing countries allow big corporations to get away with this hideous crime... Some examples that I can recall at the top of my head is cocoa plantations in North Africa, silk plantations in Asia. I recall these because there was a coverage in the news some five years ago. When it became a big issue that 90% of the worlds cocoa was owned by one person or company and how children were being exploited. I remember deciding that I will do my bit and boycott chocolate.
