I second that. From the Twilight fandom, Attica is a fantastic writer that avoids the pitfalls of writing Meyer falls into. Similarly, Amanda (atruwriter) on FanFiction.net of HP fandom is a much better writer than Meyer. The way she manages to infuse so much life into her character, so much emotion, and still manages to keep true to the characterization and themes is beyond amazing. It's a shame she probably won't get published and/or won't enjoy the same fame as Meyer when she clearly is the better writer.

no comparison at all...as sam said, Rowling had all the details down to the smallest word. Whereas Meyer's storyline and plots are excellent.! Both are unique and different authors and are nowhere near the same besides having success with their books
btw..this is jessie😳 this is one of my first few posts here.⭐️

my interpretation is the same...JKR is a clearly better writer IMO..because for me I got hooked on HP on the first sentence...when my 5th grade teacher read it and I was already hungry for more..whereas in Twilight it took me about 3 chapters to finally get into...so I can say that JKR magnificently wraps her words with much detail then SM does...but I do admire SM's work as well... I'm no English major to compare the 2 on an analytical level(although I would LOVE my AP English teacher if we did analyze these 2 authors lol)
I have also noticed that JKR manages to fit sensory details and more descriptions into her writing...and that's what I love about her and her books are always better than the last...where as from what I've heard that SM's book get badder and badder with every series...
and I am seriously Way too lazy nor do I have the time to freaking analyze every detail of their writing..this is just what I've noticed.
but I can say that Meyer is NOT the next JKR...at least not in my eyes...both are my fave authors and my idols but JKR is a better writer IMO

I know! people are like comparing J.K Rowling to Stephenie Meyer, which is sorta weird. First of all, everyone knows that J.K Rowling is AN AMAZING writer! I actually don't like the movies, but I love her books! It's so much better than the movies, according to me😳(No offense to HP fans)
Anyways, okay yeah Stephenie Meyer is a really really good writer too, but in her own way. You won't see J.K rowling writing twilight and SM writing all the HP books. That would be a totalllllll disaster!! Twilight won't be twilight and the same with HP.
Both of the books are based on fantasy, but however are very different. People are just judging the authors, when they should judge the book! Maybe, SM will be as popular as J.K Rowling one day! but i'm sure they won't have a rant over who's better and who's not.

I just cannot understand HOW some people have the nerve to compare these two authors. I love them both, but JK Rowling and Stephenie's Meyer's writing styles are extremely different from each other. Just because their success levels are somewhat on the same level does not mean that SM can be called the next JK Rowling. There will always be one and only one JK Rowling. Why can't they just let Stephenie Meyer remain Stephenie Meyer and not change her into someone else?? Can't they give her some credit for her writing style?

JK Rowling's writing is so detailed that it amazes me. She talks about something that may seem insignificant in one line of one book, but later on when that same detail turns out to be a major part of the story, the reader is left astounded. For instance, in HP and the Order of the Phoenix, when everyone was helping Mrs. Weasley clean up the house, the kids found a big locket in one of the drawers. They could not get it to open at all. I put it off thinking that it wasn't so crucial. But I realized how wrong I was when that same locket that was desribed in only ONE sentence turned out to be Slytherin's locket in the Deathly Hallows.(or was it the Half-Blood Prince? I can't remember hehe...)

Stephenie's habit of repeating adjectives sometimes gets on my nerves. This shows that she tries too hard to be explicit when she really doesn't need to. Her characters make us think that we can relate to them. In reality, we only WANT to relate to them. But in HP I'm sure some of us can relate to the colossal amount of characters who are so distinguished from each other. I can't see what separates Bella from others. She seems pretty darn average to me. Sure she's more emotional than most people her age, but so what? I'm sure there are A LOT of teens who are like her; who value love and life more than the common human.

Thanks for this topic Sam. 🤗 I really was getting pissed off at all the topics asking who's better than who.

This is a very intense post! Full of your emotions towards the issue! I liked reading your thoughts!

It seems like this is something that gets to you very much, but I will have to agree with you on all the aspects!

I also hate that Meyer is being hailed as the next JK Rowking, the differences between these writers is huge!

Jo's writing is very, and i mean very detailed! She has considered every litle detail like you have said! I find my self always connected to her characters as there is always someone in out lives who are similar to them!

Meyer is a wonderful writer, though she at this point off time and with the Twilight Saga will not be able to achieve what Rowling has got!

Appriciate you opening this topic! It was needed! 👏

I agree with you Sam. I just don't understand why everyone's comparing J.K. Rowling to Stephanie Meyers, or Harry Potter to Twilight. I think the reason is that they both are fantasy books, and Twilight's the only book/series to become popular after Harry Potter. But that is not a valid enought reason to compare something, because if you look deep into it, there are sooooo many differences between the two series. People who are romance freaks will obviously go for twilight, and people who are adventure/family/good and evil/magic freaks will obviously go for Harry Potter. My personal opinion is that people can relate more to Harry Potter (without the magic), because the series hits on friendship, love, school, enemies, and all of that sort of things that people usually experience every day. I mean, who doesn't have an enemy like Draco Malfoy, or someone who just ticks them off, and a conceited teacher like Lockhart, or a nagging but nice friend like Hermione Granger, and... you know what I mean!😆

I'm not trying to say one can't relate to Twilight, because lots of people out there probably disagree with me and can relate very much to Twilight, but I'm just saying that the writing style and character development, and the plot itself is sooooo different that there can be no comparisons. Just because Twilight is the only series to become popular among teens after Harry Potter doesn't mean that Stephanie Meyers is going to become the next J.K. Rowling. J.K. Rowling worked for far more than seven years on Harry Potter, and her dedication and love for her series shows in every word and sentence in her books. Stephanie Meyer's Twilight (First Book) came out in 2005, and it is almost 2009 and already there are four books out. Obviously Stephanie Meyers is an excellent authoress herself, as her series really are a hit, but it takes more dedication and patience to make another seires like Harry Potter. That's just my opinion though.
Seriously, I dont' think there should be any comparisons. Harry Potter was enchanting, a page turner, and Twilight is good also, but I just feel that Stephanie Meyers went a little too fast with her series, especially with Breaking Dawn, because a lot of people I know who are crazy about Twilight were disappointed in that book.
I'm just saying...J.K. Rowling was an excellent authoress👏, and Stephanie Meyers is really good herself👍🏼, but beyond that, how are they alike?🤔

I sooooooooooooo agreeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...........👏👏👏
