I don't understand why you are so worked up. 😕This post isn't for creating arguments or enmity between members. If you read all of the comments in this post, no one is being mean or rude to anyone else. We're all just stating our opinions about which one we like, and no one is getting offended if someone likes something else, so why are you? And in the Harry Potter Forum, I created a Harry Potter or Twilight post too, and no one is getting offended. HP fans are not bashing Twilight and Twilight fans are not bashing Harry Potter. Constructive Critisism is always welcome when it is said in a nice way, so why are you getting offended? And if you did post a comparison post in Harry Potter Forum, no one would have gotten offended, because we like comparing things as long as it's done in a nice way. There's no harm in that. And no other Twilightian is offended. Why are you?😕

I Love both Twilight and HP...Plotwise i really prefer Twilight the HP by just a millimeter.....considering detail...Rowling is better at this....Overall though i'm more of a twilighter than a HPian!! Go Twilight and go HP!!

Godisone people are entitled to their own opions..you can't bash them and say what is wrong with them...its what you think...you like Harry Potter so good for you...we like Twilight more so acept it...plz?? We are only worked up because your offending us by saying that we are wrong and we all should love HP....plz don't bash people for what they like

^^ I'm going to go out on a limb here and presume you've never been in the middle of a religious debate? No one has bashed anyone yet. So far, whatever has been said has been an opposing view presented in a civil manner. Bashing, on the other hand, is the ultimate result of most religious debates (especially when one doesn't know when they should step out of it - trust me: been there, done that, don't want to go back) and abortion debates (A pack of wild hyenas, all of them).

Y'know, this comparison has absolutely nothing to do with popularity or having "time to...make its base in the..." book industry. The topic merely asks if you like Twilight or HP. If you want to make a debate out of it, provide reasonable reasons for why you think the opposing series is not as good as your choice.

Regarding "giving Twilight some time" - that sounds very much like what Meyer said on her EW interview - "The Rob Effect" regarding the backlash she suffered from BD. If people don't like it now - they won't like it later. A person can't bring themselves to like something just because the creator says they'll like it. This is an insult to people's intelligence. All the same, I'm willing to give you the benefit of doubt - in what aspects precisely do you mean "Twilight will be neck-to-neck with HP"? Because both the series are over and from a literary viewpoint, HP is a lot better.

Whoa. You make it sound so much more monumental than it is. It's merely a comparison and the most it will build up to is a debate which I'm sure can be kept healthy. Somehow, I don't see how that's bad. Also, last I checked, it's the "Twilight" discussion forum, not the "Twilight Die-hard Fans only" forum which means that it welcomes the fans of the series as well as the casual reader(s).

excuse me hun but as far as you are saying trying not to offend anyone...id just like to tell you your first page is full of all hate, no constructive criticism, not trying to hate but you might wanna look over that...your opinion we understand but THAT IS NOT CALLED CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM...its just called hate and a biased opinion....

most of us have read hp, i personally liked a few of the books, however i dont understand why the hell there are topics comparing these two books but no other books???? can we stop doing this, everyone has a different opinion, we are not coming to a damn conclusion so why bring this up....!!!! grrr im pissed and im letting my anger out this way

but DO TRY and understand our viewpoint!!!

When did I ever bash Twilight except in the first page where someone was being smart-alecky? And even then, I said it in a joking way. And NOWHERE have I forced people to like Harry Potter more than Twilight. I suggested to some people to read it, but I HAVE NOT forced anyone to like HP more! That is going too far!😡

And what's wrong with comparing Twilight to Harry Potter? People always have their own opinions, and no one's foricng anyone to change them. And if someone wants to compare Twilight to another book, then go ahead, no one's stopping you! But some people actually like comparing HP to Twilight. Why ruin the fun for them? If you don't like it, then don't take part in the discussions.

And yes, this post is constructive criticism for the most part. Obviously there are comments in it that are not, but you can't expect a whole post to be "nice" when anyone's free to write in it. And people keep on saying that HP fans are bashing Twilight, but it's vice versa also. Many Twilight Fans are bashing Harry Potter. Is that not wrong? I've read comments where people say they've never read Harry Potter, but Twilight is still better. Is that not bashing? How can they compare something without reading the other book?

wow...dis convo iz takin a drastic turn...i guess we only wanted opinions...no one iz bashing up the books man!

we have fans of BOTH harry potter and twilight (im one of em).... so ppl need to relax and no body needs to stand against one another. If ppl had to bash up twilight then they would have done it already!

so ppl.... CHIILLAX 😃....n have fun...its just a view point....

I agree with you on that point!😉 Plus, I would like to point this out to anyone who thinks Twilight is beating Harry Potter in success. Since there are only four Twilight books, I will only write about the first four of the HP books. Did you know that HP books #s 1-4 sold over 200 million copies and were translated into 14 different languages? The first four Twilight books sold about 100 million, and I don't know how many languages they were translated into. Forget about Hollywood, I'm talking about the books.

Look, I don't want to hurt anyone's feelings, but I only said this, because people are making a such a big deal out of nothing. No one was bashing anything, people were only telling their opinons. What's so wrong about that? so why don't be forget about all this and have peace, kay?😛
