WARNING: I would like to stress again that this is an imaginary take off of an interview I had with the Mr. Sachin Sharma. Please take this post with not only a pinch but also a Ton of salt!!! After my successful interviews with the Guhas and Mr.Nayyar I have been receiving many requests from the members of the IF, for an interview with Mr. Sachin Sharma. Therefore, I landed at the Balaji Studios to interview Sachin who was shooting for the serial "K Street Pali Hill". I found my way to the location where Sachin was busy enacting his scenes. On seeing me, he signals me to take a seat cause he is in the midst of canning a shot. Once the shot is over he comes over, greets me very warmly and tells me to excuse him and to give him more time as he has to complete some scenes today. He also promises to give me all the time I want, once his shoot is complete. The initial feeling I get is one of disappointment, but hey what the heck he's worth the wait so, I cool my heels in Balaji Studios watching Mr. Sharma canning the scenes. Finally, pack up is announced for Mr. Sharma.
He approaches me apologising profusely to have kept me waiting. One thing that strikes me is that he's a thorough gentleman to the core. So, fasten the reigns on your heart beat girls. We are about to go for a ride with Mr. Sharma
Me: (I am more at ease with him so I address him by his first name) Good Afternoon Sachin
SS: (please read as Sexy and Suave!!) (Bears a 1000 watt smile) "Good afternoon Simran. I am terribly sorry to have kept you waiting all morning".
Me: That's perfectly all right. After all, you have taken the time out of your busy work schedule and I am very appreciative. It's better late than never.
SS: "Of course very true. Better late than never (flashes his 1000 watt smile again and man I am being blinded!!)
Me: (calm down Sims I tell myself) so tell me something about yourself?
SS: "I am a scorpion (Ooo…so he can be vitriolic!!) Who loves to talk all the time and I am an extrovert".
ME: (Laugh) Well, Join the club we all talk a lot on the IF too
SS: (Laughs and gives me a slanted look) "So what do you guys talk about"?
Me: Oh about the serial, about Dk, about you, Dish, Inder etc
SS: Ah.. (Smiles) "I hope you say nice things about me" ?
Me: Of course, dare we say anything else?
SS: (Laughs heartily) (Looks at me straight into the eyes) "Are you sure"?
Me: (now laughing) of course we say nice things about you. But, when you turned negative people were very upset
SS: (laughs) "Upset with me? What did I do? It was my character, not me"?
Me: Sure we know that
SS: (Smiles)
Me: So Sachin, what's your idea of Romance?
SS: (said with a straight face) "Having a candle light dinner near a lake with crocodiles"!
Me: (for a moment I am stunned and then laugh heartily) why? I pity your girlfriend
SS: (Laugh's wickedly seeing my reaction) "Just Kidding. Come on"!
Me: No you sounded serious
SS: "Now why would I want to do that to a girl. You tell me"? (grinning)
Me: I don't know, you gave me the answer, you do the explanation
SS: (is laughing uncontrollably) "I was being funny. That's me"
Me: (I just love this guy and his sense of humour) So do you have a girl friend?
SS: (Gives me crooked look with an impish smile ) My, My, My getting personal are we? (laughs)
Me: (highly amused and enjoying every moment) go on answer my question
SS: "I am on the look out for one currently"
Me: (I get witty) where have you been looking?, in the right places I hope?
SS: (Likes the joke and laughs uncontrollably) "Good one. Seriously I don't have one currently"
Me: (I take his word and move on) who's the woman of your dreams?
SS: (Promptly) Priyanka Chopra
Me: Ah! hot and sizzling!
SS: (laughs) "I like that.. hot and sizzling." (laughs again and fires a question right back) "what's your zodiac sign"?
Me: (with a mischievous smile) Well I am here to interview you and it's not the other way around
SS: (makes a sad face) "Please"? (I ignore him and continue)
Me: (Smiling) you have been doing some very steamy scenes in "K Street paali hill". I heard you recently canned a song sequence picturized in the rain with your heroine Riva Bubber .
SS: (Smiles wickedly) "My heroine's name is Simran, isn't your name Simran too". (laughs and continues) "hey, that's part of my job. I am dead scared of my producers I dare not refuse" (smiling even more wickedly)
Me: (Laugh) so do you get carried away with such scenes? I mean emotionally get involved?
SS: (Smiles and yells) "Are you crazy?. The entire unit is present and when all eyes are peering, how can you get emotionally involved? You have to concentrate on the lip sync, get the shot right, to top it, you are wet and cold so there's no question of getting emotional" (laughs enjoying his answer)
Me: So do you miss TD?
SS: (looks melancholy, Oh I feel bad for him) Yes I miss TD very much. The characters I play now are very different from Ved of TD. In TD, I got to smile more and was always laughing, doing something naughty all the time. It was more like my personality and I enjoyed it very much.
Me: Oh that's too bad
SS: But that's okay. The roles I am doing now are different from the one I did in TD. But it's the same face but a different side of the coin.
Me: Do you regret leaving TD?
SS: (Smiles so sweetly) "Let's face it Vedant was a treat to the eyes!"
Me: Highly conceited!
SS: (Laughs)
Me: We too miss the old Ved
SS: "You do"? (happy and smiles)
Me: Yes, the new Ved is not quite a hit as you were, among the members of IF.
SS: (is very happy now) "I am glad my absense is felt. That's the best complement. I love my fans. When fans recognize me I feel like hugging and kissing them" (Laughs)
Me: (Smiling I continue) your character brought some lighter moments to TD, which otherwise had a serious proceeding. Did you at any point object to the character turning negative?
SS: "I had no say in the scripting. At no stage did I interefere with the scripting. That's their department they are good at what they are doing."
Me: (Nodding) Is it why you left TD?
SS: "Oh, no. I had prior commitments with the Balaji films and could not cope with the schedule. It was too hectic and I was not enjoying it".
Me: So why not drop a few projects from the Balaji Films?
SS: Well, I am currently working in two projects with them. Dropping from one would have been detrimental to my career. Besides, they are the ones who gave me a break when I was working as a Sports Reporter for Zee TV in Delhi. So I opted out from TD.
Me: Have you thought about foraying into films?
SS: "Yes, I want to. I want to romance on the screen. TV doesn't allow love scenes" (smiling wickedly)
Me: You just did one with Riva?
SS: (naughty look) "That's not enough" (Laughs)
Me: (smiling) what else does Sachin like to do?
SS: "I Play basket ball, watch video, hang out with friends, you know the usual stuff"
Me: How do you inereact with co-starts? In the sense are you friendly with them?
SS: "Ya we have lots of masti on the sets and once you start working with the same people day in day out they become like family. I like big families"
Me: Okay Sachin, we are going to play a game. You have to tell me the first answer that comes to your mind as I fire away the questions in quick succession?
SS: (excited) "Sounds Interesting, I love games". (rubbing his hands) "Let's start"

ME: if you were a vegetable you will be a?
SS: Tomato
Me: (laughing) why?
SS: multipurpose (laughs) You can put in it into anything. (laughs)
Me: (Laughing) Love
SS: biggest Nightmare (laughs)
Me: (Laughing) Why?
SS: (Laughing) "I don't know. You told me to tell you the first answer that came to my mind. That's what came to my mind" (laughs)
Me: (He's enjoying the interview) Your favourite perfume?
SS: Body Odour (laughs)
Me: (laughing) What touches you most?
SS: My clothes (laughing)
Me: (laughing) Place that you like to visit often?
SS: "The loo" (Laughing)
Me: (he's going crazy laughing) Give me a joke you've heard recently?
SS: "the patient to the psychiatrist: You're just jealous because the voices are talking to me and not you! 9 out of 10 voices in my head agree that I'm sane " (Laughs)
Me: (I am beginning to hear voices telling me to leave before I go totally insane!) So sachin, do you have any message for the members of IF?
SS: "Yes, Yes, I love you all, keep watching all the serials I work in, and think of me kindly. Don't to drugs, stay sober and love me"
Me: It was a pleasure interviewing you. You are one crazy person
SS: (laughs) " You said it, that's me. The pleasure is all mine. Thank you for coming I am deeply touched" (1000 watt smile again)
Me: Sachin, I have parting gift for you a shaeri, would you like me to recite it?
SS: "Sure, a poem for me? That's very nice of you, sure let me hear it please"

SS: (laughs and winks) "I promise I will not"
