Atleast the story is not predictable. I like it! Atleast they did not show those stupid marriages. Will be watching from the edge of my seat.

I think with Sumi dying the Guhas wanted to perhaps point out that Sumi was really in a life/death situation. That's why DK did not tell her about her bahu.

The Guhas probably realized maaybe from reading this forum that we were not too happy about Sumi not being able to bear any bad news.
