Stoppage of Re-runs!!!!

Hi All

Zee Tv has most of its serials aired along with re-runs the next day. There are just a handful of serials which started without re-runs, but even for these, there used to be clubbed repeats during the weekend.

Suddenly, Zee got to do something which was really unwanted. They started to remove the re-runs of certain serials. They removed the re-run for Tum Bin Jaaon Kahaan, then Reth, then PKG...Now, the axe is on TD😡

The new serial, Palkkhi is to be aired from 14th May from 1.30 pm in the afternoon. This is actually TD re-run slot. I hope they are just re-scheduling things, putting TD re-run at a different timing.

If this is true and the re-run is stopped, we have to think why does Zee do this??? I feel this happens when there is no charm left in a serial. I agree to this in case of PKG and Reth. These two serials were dragging and was really really boring when Zee decided to take out the re-run.

Now, talking about TD, if the re-run is stopped, whom do we blame? Do we decide that TD is also losing its charm, so this act from Zee? If so, who is responsible?

Don't you think the Guhas bear the major share for this bcos of their wild and not thinkable writing skills. Yes, I do feel they have pulled down their TRPs, made the very nice TD a real crap. Now, this serial has gone to such an extent that the re-run is stopped. So, are we in for worse days as regards TD story is concerned?? We need to just think about this!!!!

Sure Td is loosing its charm but Guhas have made pot full of money from this extention so they r just not bothered. All TV producers need to sacrifise their vanity which they have in abundance. None of them are sagacious person, all make run of the mill stuff & recycle the same stuff & we crib & watch the same stuff.

They just messed this whole saga beautifully, what shd we call them, "Mahan"! We want our Don Jaun De Marco back! What abt D, she is puritan then so called adarshvadi how can she go against the institution of marriage!

Guhas, are doing a shoddy job, they r handling TD with innate clumsiness! Guhas, need to go see the GNOCCHI OPTICIAN, they r in need of a new pair of glasses. Turned this tale to a E-Nothing-Tale!! But the TRP's r still good.................HOW?????

Yes it is all about TRP's and guhas are just chasing them but i guess in this case they have lost their charm as TD has lost its repeat slot. They have turned this story into a pathetic, depressing and one thing is for sure the novalty that DK's character has been lost as his character was unique but now he is just a crying Devdas. I think we have talked about how brainless Guhas's are and their insanity is taking us to the peak.😡

Nice topic. I can see that we all want to vent out our frustration and anger by posting in these forums.😳😡. Yeah TD is another serial which is biting the dust now. Dissappointing us big time. 😡. All the serials are like that and what do we do. Now its become a habit with us to watch these serials however nonsensical it may be 😳 and in the process the producers have succeeded in their mission.

Regarding the re runs in the afternoon slot , I felt since Zee doesn't have any shows during that time slot they used to show the re runs of the show. Unlike star plus which have their own fixed programs for the afternoon slot like Kumkum, shagun etc. which caters mainly to the married woman who get some free time in their hand and need to relax and so watching these shows is a good option. 😆

Maybe Palkhi is being made keeping that aspect i mind. I remember during DD days there were some programs like cookery shows and other shows ( Jhatpat Khana,Baingan Raja 😳 😃 , Best out of waste etc and some serials which were shown mainly during the afternoon slot. I think with Shanti they started this daily soaps in DD and then Zee and other channels took over. But somewhere along the way Zee lost its charm. Its popular mainly overseas since in many places no other channel reaches them except Zee and thats their USP. But seriously Zee needs to do its marketing properly and learn from Star plus and Sony the tricks of the trade and know the pulse of the audience. They really lack in this aspect. Thats what I feel. And I know for a fact since back home I have seen only a handfull of them watching Zee and TD was one of the main attractions. But slowly its losing out its trump card too.

Actually Sree I think that they are just stopping the reruns in the day. As Rethi is still being repeated at 12 AM midnight while PKG is being repeated at 11 PM midnight. Am not sure abt PKG now as i've heard that Kasshish would be coming at that slot !!! TD for now is being repeated at 12.30 AM midnight and I hope that none of the other reruns replace that !

I don't think that the stopping of reruns has anything to do with the storyline. TD remains as one of the best serials in Zee (TRPs under consideration here). But some of the new serials are coming up and they need to place them somewhere. and hence the reruns are being stopped. Zee can't afford to stop some of the prime time serials now as they are all well established (Sindoor, TD, Astitva, KK) and Sarkaar is newly slotted. As of now the need is to re-look at 10 - 12 PM night slot (Star has already established with time slot with serials and no re runs) for zee.

and coming back to TD story I think that 'Film Farm' now does not know what to do. if they unite the Ds then the whole charm is lost and hence they are cooking up some stupid twists to keep them apart. and this will go on for a while ! next after the ppl (Sum, Suhas) I think it will be circumstances (say shooting) which will be now against them.

few years back they were showing "kammal serial"a t 8 pm in zeetv and its repeat at 1.30 in the afternoon but later before few months of its winding up they stopped its repeat .

now it appears td is facing the same fate
