Earlier they were all alone he could do household chores and help her support her but in a joint family with people like baapji it is not easy. He can't always stay here and keep watch and his parents treats bahu like a naukrani he can't throw them away also so he decided to go for hostel despite it will be diffcult for him personally.

For Kalyani, love will be very distracting for her at the moment. Ever since she found out she is an illegitimate child, I have observed she has been overcompensating by proving that she is the best daughter, the best wife, and the best mother. She has hardly ever cared about herself. Think about how many times she has given up her studies for Malhar, Anu or even Pillu. Malhar doesn't want that for her. Now this job hunt is yet another distraction cause these Ranes have got it into her head that she shouldn't be financially dependent on Malhar. Objectively speaking, the hostel idea is not the worst idea ever.
