I'm quite new to Indian TV, less than 2 years so I don't know how it all worked before so can't comment on that.
BUT I've seen many awards shows, for example Filmfare and Zee Cine Awards and there are SO MANY actors and actresses and technichans that attend. There are the "biggies" like SRK, AB and AB jnr, Aishwarya Rai, Preity Zinta, Priyanka Chopra, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, John Abraham, Bipasha Basu, Shahid Kapoor, etc. And then you have actors who don't really fit into that category (not being mean-just don't have any other way to say it). Those people are like Fardeen Khan, Uday Chopra, Dino Morea, Genilia D'Souza (but she is quickly changing), Shilpa Shetty, etc. HOWEVER each and every actor get pretty equal chances!! Though they might not be nominated, or have a film released recently or do a performance, they all show glimpses of them quite often, when hosting and stuff happens and those lil acts where they come and interact with the audience, they go around not just to people like SRK and Katrina Kaif but ALSO the ones who haven't done much. Several actors come and present awards, I mean look at HOW MANY categories there are-not just in films but TV as well!
NOW look at how SPA has undergone their awards. And its not like an overall awards show, its just ONE friggin CHANNEL!!! I was going through a few SPA clips on Youtube last night just to catch one of those glimpses of Kunal, Puja or Gautam and as I was doing that, obviously I had to watch performances and stuff and there was NOTHING to do with Puja, Kunal or Gautam!!! They had shown a few glimpses of Puja but NONE of Kunal, just that one when Kunal was looking down or whatever. But I haven't finished watching it so there may be more...but my point is, like all you guys know there was no bloody MENTION of TSPLS!!!!!!!!!
It is so true about how YRKKH and Bidaai got so much of the Limelight!! Not only did they host, but three or something performances of them AS WELL!!!!!! Parul, Kinshuk, Sara and Angad hosted, they did a couple performance EACH and they were part of the opening act plus YRKKH (I'm not sure if Bidaai cast were there cause I skipped that part) had this MASSIVE performance!!!!!!!!!!!
If I was getting treated like that, I would've just not gone. I've had the same experience as well (on a slighly lower scale) but still the same treatment. What it was was that it was a friend of ours wedding, and they and occasionally me as well do dances. They talked about it IN FRONT OF ME before they started rehearsing and all and during when everything was confirmed!!! And it wasn't like we were young, cause it happened just last year and some of the girls are like in the early 20's as well!!! I didn't even want to talk to them nor did I want to keep in contact with them!! And we've known each other for the last 10 years or so!! I didn't want to go to the wedding but had cause my mum made me and plus it was a "family" event type of thing. But I did ignore them throughout the whole wedding!!!
Well that was an insight of my life LOL! But my point is that I know what its like. Mine is small, but imagine Kunal and Puja!!! They have made their name in a BIG industry!!! They are famous!!! Do you get what I mean? Ashame SPA haven't recognised it.
Man! Kunal and Puja as well as Gautam have amazing sportsmanship to even attened the SPA Awards. Its so stupid what SPA had done!! While watching the clips, all I could see were continuos shots of the YRKKH team and the nominations of JUST THEM!! Though I'm not a fan of KDMHMD but even their team as well as Aditi and Harshad didn't have much shots of them!! But AT LEAST they did get a performance, had interacted with the hosts and all AND got quite a few nominations! I'm glad they won Best Jodi cause like others have said, its kinda like "in your face" to the other shows! LOL! Then look at Kunal and Puja...not ONE thing of them!!!! They could've asked them to at least presented an award, geez and that would've been enough!! I've said this numerous times:
SPA WAS TOTALLY IN HUMANE!!!!
Really glad Kunal didn't make an effort to dress-up (no matter how much I diliked what he was wearing), like someone had said, why even bother? He had probably just came to give moral support to Puja...what an awesome friend😍
