Part 56
Yug is at the dining table, he is dressed now, and slowly sipping his coffee. All the while making sure to avoid the gaze of the man sitting at the opposite end of the table. As he drinks, he contemplates recent events. The nerve of that man too just walk in here all unannounced, he thinks to himself, while going over what just happened :-
Only 30 minutes ago his dadu had come barging in all unexpected, and had half scared the living daylights out of him.
Right now Yug was in a shamble of emotions. Seeing his dadu he had been in shock and anger. His initial reaction had been to scream, and his mouth was even wide open ready for the roar to come out.
But then suddenly something happened which had just shut Yug up. His attention shifted from his grandfather onto the two other figures who followed in behind. The first was his cousin Neel, and the second was a person for whom Yug found he did not have the courage to look directly in the eyes. Someone he felt extremely guilty for neglecting.
As his mother followed and walked in, the anger Yug had felt substituted for guilt, and the shock had exchanged for shame. The sheer sight of his mother just made him so weak, that he couldn't help but stay quiet. As Yug was left speechless, his feet moved him towards her. It was a pull that he could not repel.
Bindya stood there in front him with tears of joy in her eyes. Many months had passed, since she had been unaware of her sons ware bouts. She didn't know what kind of a state he was in. whether he was well or not. Whether he was happy or still in pain. He had left the house without giving anyone any notice. And the days before his departure he had been extremely unhappy. Her last memories of him had been very sad ones. she was so overwhelmed when she had heard the news of his marriage. It meant that he was well, and was finally happy to have moved on. Although she felt hurt and neglected that her only son had omitted to tell her about his marriage, she was still grateful to get some good news about him. Many a night she had woken up with nightmares about Yug ruining his life and drinking himself to death, in some unknown far away place. She feared that she would never lay eyes on him again. And now seeing him here, safe and well, in his own house, with his wife, she felt so gratified to the almighty lord for looking after her son.
Yug reached his mother and without ushering a single word hugged her tightly. His actions said it all. Embracing her felt like an enormous weight had been lifted of his chest. It had been so long, since he had simply left her in the lurch without a single word as to wear he was going. Although She had always been in his thoughts, he had imagined it would be easier for both of them if he had broken all ties completely. But oh, how he needed his mothers love, he realised that now.
(Presently) Now sitting at the dining table Yug thought about what was to come next. Deep inside he had a good idea and decided to prepare himself for it.
Vikram aditya sat there quietly taking in the surroundings. Yug hadn't done bad for him self. Not bad at all infact. Although he wished yug was back home, inside he was proud to see that his grandson was able to stand on his own two feet and support a wife, all without any help or aid from the family fortune or name.
Bindya was in the kitchen catching up with her daughter in-law (who by now was in a 50/50 state). Bharti couldn't belive it, her mother in law was here, helping her out in the kitchen, and god bless she was really so sweet., so much better than what she had imagined. Bhartis dream had been answered. Yet on the other hand she also feared Yug's anger towards her. He may be calm right now, but she knew the time would come when she would have to face his wrath. she couldn't escape it.
Neel was just roaming around the house. He had found his way into the study, and was just having a nose around in yugs belongings. He wasn't normally a nosy person, but he had needed to get out of the dining room fast. The tension between his grandfather and cousin was so tight, it cud have been cut with a knife. He had found it best to stay out of the awkwardness and so the excuse of exploring yugs house had been a good one.
As he continued to poke through, yug entered the room and watched silently.
"hey bro how are you ?" asked Neel
"don't you hey bro me."
"what? What have I done ?"
"what have you done ? you brought them here ! I gave you strict instructions not to tell anyone, and what do you go and do ?"
"I swear to you. I honestly swear. I didn't tell them. Nanu already knew. I don't know the full dtails but he said he got a voice mail, and that he knew everything. Thats I also know ok, I swear to you."
"If your lying to me Neel, I will break your bones."
"Im bei-"
"Hes not lying." replied a deep voice.
Both yug and Neel turned around to face their grandfather.
"And since when have you started to break peoples bones ?" inquired vikram aditya
Yug instantly looked at the floor. He still couldn't bring himself to look directly in his dadu.
"A few weeks ago I had gone away on business for a couple of weeks to secure a new deal. And I accidentally left my mobile at home. Upon my return when I went through my miss calls i found a voice mail message telling me that you had been married. And this was your address. And that it was extremely urgent for me to come at once. So here I am"
Yug grimaced.
"youre seriously telling me that you came all the way down here because of a voicemail."
"yes I am"
"so then'who left you this voice mail ?"
Vikram aditya was about to answer when another voice replied for him
"I did"
Everyone turned to face Bharti who was now standing in the doorway, with bindya stood right behind her.
Yug stared straight into her eyes and felt disgusted. Without saying a word he pushed past everyone and stormed off into the bedroom. Bharti came running after him pleading for forgiveness.
Yug sat on the bed with his head between his hands feeling so damn betrayed. Bharti came upto him, and knelt down in front.
"please yug, please. Im sorry. Please forgive me. I was just so worried. I had found the number in you papers months ago. But its just, that a couple of weeks ago everything kind of got on top of me, what with ur accident and all. And I just couldn't cope by myself. You have to understand yug, that I would never do anything to defy you, but I was just majboor yug, I wasn't thinking properly"
inside she was panicking. She was hoping dearly that yug would buy this explanation. She couldn't exactly tell him that she had discovered Vrinda was his old flame and in a fit of jealousy she had called his grandfather out of spite.
Yug looked up at her, trying to see if there was anything there that he could recognise.
"I just cant trust you anymore Bharti"
"oh yug please don't say that. off course you can trust me. Im your wife."
"then why didn't you talk to me first Bharti. Instead You went behind my back."
In her defence Bharti began to cry.
Yug was gonna walk away when bindya entered the bedroom. She saw Bharti sitting on the floor crying, and began scolding yug for making her bahu cry. And hence stated the emotional blackmail.
Bindiya began to comfort her daughter in-law and, told yug that if he was to stay angry at bharti it meant that he was unhappy to see his mother. She told him to thank his wife. If it hadn't been for her god knows how many more months would have gone by before Yug's family were able to see him again. She went on and on as yug stood there silently taking it all in.
Bindiya saw that she wasn't getting any kind of a reaction from yug, so she decided to use the big weapon. She knew yug wouldn't be able to stay quiet against this. She loved her son dearly, and was desperate to have him back.
"you really don't have any love for me in your heart to do yug " she said
Yug astonished by what his mother had said to him turned on his heels.
"Offcourse I do, how can you say that ? "
"because if you did love me, you would be happy with your wife, and you would be living back home with us in kishen ganj. With your family where you belong."
"mum please don't start that. Look im ok with Bharti ok. But I cant move back"
"why not ?"
"I just cant"
"yug I have spent the majority of my life as a widow. I was deprived of being with my husband. You were only young when your dadu sent you abroad, I had no say in it at all. And so I became deprived of spending time with my son. Now you are married. And don't think ive forgotton about you not even having the decency to inform me that you were getting married, because I havent. Anyway, now that you are married, again I will be deprived. This time, of seeing my only son and bahu in front of my eyes. I have always dreamt of what it would be like having a bahu to share things with. Someone with whom I could laugh and joke, and conspire about you with. But now. Now you will take that away from me too, just as life has managed to take away everything else that has brought me happiness."
"how can you say that mum. How could I be happy knowing that I have stolen your happiness. I love you."
"Then please come back home. Both of you come home. Please" and with this bindya started to cry.
Yug rushed over to his mother. He could handle a lot of things, but seeing the women he loved cry was not one of them. Especially his mother.
"mum please don't cry. I will do whatever you want. I will come back home. Ok. We will both come back home, just please don't cry." and he hugged his mother again. Bindiya smiled soflty. Thank the lord. Her son was coming home.
Bharti got up, wiped her taers, and smiled also. Everything had worked out for the best.
As the mother and son hugged, vikram aditya watched from the hallway, and felt glorified with satisfaction. Although he knew his grandson was still not on speaking terms with him. He didn't mind. He knew once back home yug would sooner or later have to start talking with him. He loved his grandson. and no matter what yug showed on the outside, he knew that deep down he loved him too. For now though, at least his scheme had worked. He had originally planned on coming down alone. But had later realised that bindya would be the perfect card for emotional blackmail. Yug may not be melting in front of his dadus tears, but he would certainly bend in front of his mothers. Whatever he had done though, was for the best. Yug belonged back home in kishen ganj. It was his rightful place. It was his legacy.
Part 57
Vrinda is chopping vegetables when parminder comes into the kitchen and asks if Ragbir has already left for his interview today. Vrinda nodds her head implying that he has. parminder articulates how she wishes he would come back for once with some good news. On the previous 3 consecutive ocasions, Ragbir had come back with bad news from his interviews. She told Vrinda to get ready and go to the mandir to make dua for him. Vrinda finished what she was doing and obeyed her mother.
Yug, Bharti, Bindya, Neel, and vikram aditya all disembark off the aeroplane and get into the awaiting Land Cruiser, ready to take them home to Kishen Ganj. As they pass through the hustle and bustle of the city and approach the singular roads leading to the rural villages yug thought about Vrinda. He had imagined that he would never return to kishen ganj again, but life had a funny way of bringing things full circle. Looking out now he remembered the very first time he had arrived here. Those litle interactions he had had with Vrinda, and yet both of them had been unaware of the signinficance of their collisions. If only they had known then what they knew now.
He pondered how Vrinda would be getting along in her married life in Rothak, hopefully she would be doing a lot better than he was. He wished for all the happiness in the world to be bestowed upon her, yet at the same time he decidedly prayed that he would never have to lay eyes on her again. He knew that if he ever did see her, or if they met, it would make matters even more difficult, both for her him and for her. Yug closed his eyes and hoped that his prayer would be heard. He was relying on the theory, that absent from the eyes resulted in absent from the mind. If he couldnt to see Vrinda, slowly she would stop occupying his mind. But love is such a tricky thing! As they say, absence makes the heart grow fonder. Sometimes the more you try to forget someone they more they remain in your heart and mind.
The driver switches the radio on, and a song starts playing.
Yug opens his eyes and remembers'or should I say "tries not to remember" Vrinda.

Meanwhile Vrinda is at the mandir. It was a busy day there today, and there was quite a rush. It had took her almost 5 minutes just to reach the top.
Once up there she begins to make dua to the gods.
"please lord, give Ragbir ji a good job, in a big office somewhere. He is an honest hardworking man. We are so grateful that dadu wants us to stay with him, but how long can we live off them. Ragbir ji needs to get back onto his own feet. Please lord, make it possible that Ragbir ji gets accepted for a good job." after saying this she turned to leave. But there was still something in vrindas heart that she wanted to say, so she turned back round again.
"I have one more thing to ask. I just want to say, that I wish, yug is doing well. Please, just make sure that he is happy. By now hes probably settled with Bharti. Maybe hes even forgotton me, and I guess that's for the best. But please whatever happens, bring yug happiness, that's all I ask. I know I cant be with him but my life would be fulfilled if I knew he was happy, and I could even gladly die then with solace in my heart." she pushed the waterworks back, adjusted her dupatta and began to walk through the crowds down the stairs.

On the way back home. Vikram aditya says that it is best to go to the mandir first and get blessings before going back home. They stop the car. And vikram tells yug and Bharti to go and pray while they wait outside. Yug opens the door and offeres his hand to a very sick Bharti, who is extremely pale in colour.
"come on"
"umm, I don't think I will be able to manage it actually"
"yes you will. You have been bunged up in the car for so long, you need some fresh air. Come on, it will do you good"
"no seriously, if I get out I will collapse. And I really think im gonna be sick. Why don't you go and pray for the both of us. I will come later after I have rested at home a bit. Ok."
Yug shakes his head with annoyance and goes in by himself. He is surprised to see such a rush inside. It was never like this when he had been here before. But then again so many other had things weren't the same anymore either. He took off his shoes and made his way up the stairs through the crowd. Each step he took reminded him of the past. He had met Vrinda face to face here for the first time right in this mandir. Who would have known then that they would only meet to be separated. The only time they would meet now would be in the next life.

As Vrinda is walking down a kid behind her runs downstairs and in the process nudges her. Her foot slips off the step and she looses her balance. Vrinda goes tumbling towards the central barricade.
Yug on the other hand is walking up when he notices a lady from the other side slip and come crashing into the boundary. Other people from his side just ignore and walk on. This annoys him even more. The village people had let their differences override their sense for humanity. He pushed past them and went to save this poor woman from tumbling down even more, she was wearing a dupatta on her head and yug was unable to see her face clearly.
Vrinda had crashed into the boundary, and lost all balance, she found herself falling across even further, until suddenly a strong pair of hands grabbed her.
Yug grabbed the lady just in time before she became mince meat underneath everyone's footsteps. It was an awkward postion. He was half knelt over the boundary with this woman sort of laying in his arms.
Vrinda turned her head to face the noble stranger who had saved her, as she did for a moment she thought she had died and gone to heaven, for it surely couldn't be possible that she was seeing THIS face in front of her.
The lady in yugs arms turned her face and displaced the dupattea that was covering herself to reaveal her face. As she did, yug froze. It was none other than his Vrinda. He wasn't sure if he was dreaming or not.

For a long while the two remained motionless. People from both sides continued to walk up and down, but yug and Vrinda were lost in each other. It was only after someone accidentally bumped into yug that he came back to the present, and straightened up to release Vrinda from his arms.
Vrinda smoothed her clothes and rearranged her duppata over her head nervously as she was stunned by the sight in front of her.
All yug could do was stare. He couldn't believe his eyes, Shock was an understatement. Out of all the people, in all the places, he had to meet HER right here, right now in this mandir. It was just too strange to be a coincidence.
As yug opened his mouth to talk, he heard someone shout his name. he looked below to see his dadu waving his arm hailing him to hurry up and come down. Yug quickly looked back to his side, to see Vrinda, but to his astonishment she had disappeared. It couldn't have been a dream he thought. Frantically his eyes searched the crowd on the opposite side. And there at the bottom near the gates he saw a glimpse of Vrinda leaving hurriedly. He felt so torn. A part of him wanted to run after her. But the continuous holler of his granfather made him realise that that would be a stupid thing to do. Taking a deep breath in, yug decided to let Vrinda go, and came downstairs. Vikram aditya asked yug what had taken him so long. He told him to hurry up since Bharti's nausea had got worse.
"kya tum darshan kar aaye (did you go see)?" asked vikram aditya
"yes I did" replied yug, because he most certainly had.
And then the two returned to the car.

Part 58
At home Vrinda was all jittery and nervous. She felt extremely unsettled and alarmed after her encounter with yug at the mandir. She still couldn't believe what had actually happened. What weird games was God playing with her. A few weeks ago she had said her final goodbye to yug, and now only a little while ago she found herself back in his arms. All the pain and memories she had tried so hard to lock away these past few weeks came rushing back with added interest. This was just too much to handle.
Vrinda had imagined that yug would allways live in lucknow with bharti. She had forgotten the little detail about his mother, grandfather, and his whole family being back here in kishen ganj. Obviously one day he would have had to return to see them. She cursed herself for being so naive in thinking she would never see yug again especially while living in pratap gadh. He may be in the neighbouring village but he was but a few miles away from her. Both villages shared the same temple and also other festivity grounds too. Plus with the history of their two families it was inevitable that there were bound to meet sooner or later.
Although it saddened her immensely to see him again, she tried to think of a positive note. Maybe god had finally listened. She knew that yug was still angry with his dadu back in lucknow, but maybe now that he was back in kishen ganj it meant that he was making amends with his grandfather. And this also meant he would be introducing Bharti to everyone. It meant that maybe he WAS HAPPY. Maybe he had moved on. Vrinda buried her emotions and tried to occupy herself in the housework.
In VA's house. Yug and Bharti arrive home and meet the rest of the family. Yug feels suffocated, seeing everyone and answering their insufferable questions. He leaves Bharti to deal with it al by herself, and goes to freshen up.
As he splashes water on his face he thinks back to what just happened in the mandir. He hadn't even in his wildest dreams imagined that he would actually meet Vrinda again, and that too this soon. When he had parted with Vrinda at the station, it had been for the last time. He had sent her away to her husband. Shouldn't she be in rothak he thought. Oh but how silly he had been. Every married daughter came to visit her mayka once in a while. Off course she had probably come to visit her family. Maybe he shouldnt have returned. He was better off in back Lucknow. Yug dried his face and went out into the hallway. He was about to go down stairs, when he saw the shrine of radha Krishna, and decided to pay them a little visit.
At DB's house. Ragbir comes back home and tells everyone that his interview was unsuccessful yet again. He tells them that the company were looking for young students fresh out of school who have proper qualifications in IT. Not someone like him. He just didn't seem to fit the criteria anywhere. Everyone consoled him, and told him not to give up hope. There was something out there, for him he just had to keep searching. Vrinda made a wish again. "please god, let Ragbir ji find a good job" now she was desperate for him to find work. They quicker he did, they quicker they could move out, and the less chance she had of bumping into yug again.
At VA's house. Yug is standing in front of the temple. Observing the the murtis of Krishna and radha very carefully. The number of times he had come to them for blessings to be bestowed and for his prayers to be answered. And each time he had gone away thinking that they would listen, yet each time he had been proved wrong. Time and time again they had shunned him. At every step they had ignored if not deliberately done the opposite of what he had asked. Yug had had enough. Today had been the last straw. He had desperately wished never to see Vrinda again, because he knew how much pain misery and suffering would ensue. But only moments later what happened ? she came tumbling into his arms !
They had purposely toyed with his feelings and emotions. They were playing a game with his life, and he had decided to call it quits. He was sick and tired of being let down. What was the point of praying if every time he did only the opposite would happen.
"You think your so clever don't you" he bawled at them.
"But your not. Because im onto you. I know about the sick twisted game that you are playing. Ive learnt the rules. So from now on, im gonna be very careful about what I ask for" and he let out a crazed laugh.
"from now on I will only ask for things in an opposite manner. Its seems that's the only way you understand things." Desperation had turned him into a cynical and hysterical man.
"you know'I hope. I dearly hope, that Vrinda and Ragbir remain in pratap gadh, and ALLWAYS remains in front of my eyes, because, it just brings me so much happiness to see them. I hope they keep reminding me of what I couldn't have. I hope, that Vrinda and her husband are NEVER happy. I want to see Vrinda unhappy, because seeing her unhappy gives me joy. I hope she suffers the way I am suffering. I hope there is trouble for her and Ragbir. I hope that I am NEVER able to move on. And I hope that I will never be happy with bharti. Did you get all that ? Good." and he joined his hands together in front of them.
"Now do me a favour, and stick to ur reputation ok." then he turned to leave.
As he was leaving Bharti arrived upstairs.
"hey, where were you. I was getting worried, you've been gone for a while."
"oh I was just paying some homage to our lovely gods."
"oh wow, since you've come here seems like your faith has increased."
"hmm, yes, why wouldn't it" said yug in a sarcastic voice.
"are you feeling ok ?"
"never better. How are you now ?"
"yes much better thank you. Hey hurry up and go down, dinners almost ready ok, im just gonna get changed into something a bit more comfortable and I'll be down too."
"ok then. And hey. A word of advice. You see them" and he pointed towards Radha Krishna.
"if you ever want to ask them for anything, make you sure you ask for the oposite ok." and again he started to laugh. Bharti looked at him startled.
"are you sure your ok ?"
"yes yes, im fine. Im absolutely fine, don't worry. I'll see you down stairs ok" and then he left.
Bharti stood there feeling confused. What did yug mean about asking the opposite. Honestly it felt like he would talk in riddles sometimes. She had sensed a strange vibe from him and could tell that he was upset about something. It was probably because things were not right between him and his grandfather yet. that's probably why he seemed tense she thought.
Bharti was gonna go to get changed, but since She felt worried, she walked upto the temple and began to pray.
"please lord, everything I always wanted has come true. Me and yug are finally together here with the rest of the family where we should be. But it seems like something is still upsetting yug. Please let him make amends with his dadu, and whatever he asked for just now, please fulfil it. Answer his prayers, and make true whatever he just asked for, he deserves happiness" Bharti stood there eyes closed and hands joined praying passionately. As she did a marigold flower fell from the garland in the temple into her hands. She opened her eyes to see the flower. This was surely a good sign. The gods had heard her prayers, and yugs for that matter, And they would surely be fulfilled.
Everyone was at the dinner table. The atmosphere was bright and cheerful. As everyone else laughed and jeered, yug sat there quietly. Everyone seemed so happy, and he felt so out of place. He wondered how long it would be untill he would be able to adjust to everything.
After dinner yug and Bharti retired to their bedroom. It had been a tiring day what with all the travelling. They bid everyone goodnight and left. Soon after everyone else went to bed too.
2 people however remained downstairs. They had far better things to do. Serious matters needed to be tended to and solved. Kanwarsa, and gayatri bua came out of their charade. It was such a hassle and not to mention annoying having to put a fake smile on all day long and pretend to be so thrilled at yugs return. They had to get cracking with a plan to remove yug from the equation. For months they thought they had got rid of him for good. He had buggered off, and all of babasa's wealth would be theirs for the taking. But there was a small glitch. For as long as a person was alive, no matter where he was he could eventually return and claim his right. They had to make sure yug would go to a place from where he could never return !
Part 59
Ok for this next part. I am not really gonna write out a proper update, coz it is extremely similar to the actual episodes in the drama where the enemity between both sides ends. I admit it wasn't shot as tastefully as one would have hoped, and was a bit rushed, but nonetheless I don't think there's any point for me to write out a whole long update explaining everything in detail. So if you guys do want help to imagine it you can go back and watch these epi's (sorry guys i hope that didnt sound rude😳)
Anyway, heres my version, a breif update:
It is the day of the dwajah pooja in the village. Both dadus have gone to the mandir to start the bidding.
Kanwar sa and gayatri bua have planned for yugs car to be stopped on the way to the mandir. He will get abducted, taken into the woods and then killed.
Ragbir is on his way into town again to see if he has any better luck at finding a job.
On his way there he sees yugs abandoned car in the road, and as we all know helps rescue our poor yug from the goons.
Ragbir takes yug back to the mandir on a stretcher. Where everyone presumes that he is dead. VA cries desperately for the loss of his son. And this is where our yug realises how much his dadu loves him, and what a broken man he would be without him.
Upon hearing the news of yugs death Bharti and bindya come rushing to the mandir and so does Vrinda (only Vrinda cries more and shows way more emotion than she did in the epi)
DB crosses the boundary to console his friend.
vrinda hears the news of yugs death, she drops everything and goes running out of the house bare feet. she reaches the mandir, and falls to her knees at the central barrier. she sees yugs corpse and cries her heart out as flash backs remind her of all their moments together. nobody notices is her crying because they are all shocked to see yug dead. she continues to weep. the thought of comitting suicide occurs to her, but then..
yug wakes up to reveal the truth about who was responsible for trying to kill him.
VA becomes wild and tries to kill his daugther and son in-law. DB intervenes and makes him see sense.
Yug tells his dadu to forgive his aunt and uncle.
VA calms down, and offers Ragbir anything he wants, and Ragbir asks for the boundary wall to be taken down. The wall is broken and both familes pray together for the pooja. yug and Vrinda secretly steal glances at each other.
At home, yug makes amends with his grandfather. And then persuades him to go offer the hand of freindship proplery to DB.
The next day VA and DB patch up properly in the mandir, and the enmity is finally ended.
Yug comes to thank Ragbir, for saving his life. In the conversation Ragbir accidentally lets out that he is looking for work. Yug offers him a job in his company, and says it is the least he can do after Ragbir saved him.
Vrinda feels even more awe at yug. Her love for him grows even more for the fact that he offered her husband a job in his company.
Vrinda goes to her old friend Bharti and starts to chit chat with her.
Bharti shows how happy she is on the outside, but on the inside is burning with anger and jealousy.
She thought she was rid of Vrinda for good, and now she realises Vrinda's family is extremely close to yugs family, wich means yug will be seeing a lot of more of Vrinda than she had hoped.
