If Vrinda's dad is dead then why does her mom wear sindoor and mangalsutra.

do we know hes dead as a fact? all i know is that "something" happened that one night and stuff. plus his dad said, it slipped out," when my son comes...."
so when the answer of wat happened tat night gets answered in the show, i think this question will also be answered
