Part 1-
Uma looked down at the picture on his phone of Kanak, his Kanak. He gulped down a lump in his throat at seeing her face again. It had been two years since that accident, two years since he had held her in his arms, two years since she had been his.
He still prayed daily, prayed she would return to him, she was his everything, his world and without him there was no him.
He walked into his room, stopping in his steps "Kanak"
She turned around, her hair lifting in the cool breeze, he stepped forward, scared to touch her incase she dissapeared again
"How do I look" she asked, letting out a melodic giggle as she span around
He closed his eyes painfully, it had been to long since he had heard that sound, that tinkling laughter
She stopped and pouted "Hey, youre not answering me, dont I look nice"
His heart stopped, how could she ever think she didnt?
"Beautiful" he said, as if making that affirmation was as easy as breathing
"You dont look to bad yourself Daku Singh"
Uma stepped closer and reached out his hand, he wanted so bad to touch her
She placed her hand in his and stepped forward, brushing her nose against his "Hi" she smiled
"Hi" he replied back, he was angry at himself for blinking, because everytime he blinked he missed her beautiful face
He pushed a loose strand of hair out of her face
A knock on the door took him out of his trance and when he looked back at Kanak she was gone
"Go away, go away, you made her leave" he shouted
Uma fell to the floor, his head in his hands
"Im so sorry Kanak, please come back"
He reached up, grabbing her photo from the desk and held it to his chest
"Why did you leave me, I cant live without you" he sobbed
Suman listened outside the door, tears filling her eyes at her Dadusa's pain, she knew Kanak was the other part of him and without her he was incomplete
She remembered the day as if it was yesterday
Uma held Kanak's cold small hand in his, he lifted her hand to his cheek
"Come back, please come back, look I wont be mad at you for leaving me or for getting in that accident, I promise"
When he heard no reply he shook his head "Kanak, come on, enough of this joke, you can wake up now"
He dropped her hand from his and frowned "Kanak, come on, if you dont wake up then I wont talk to you again"
"Sir, im sorry, your wife is gone"
Uma growled, grabbing the doctors collar "What do you mean shes gone, dont lie to me"
He paused as he heard the heart monitor beep one final time
Uma grabbed Kanak's hand "You promised you would never leave me" his voice broke as he sobbed
"What am I meant to do without you"
Uma had shaped his whole life around Kanak, without her, he wasnt sure how to live, let alone exist without Kanak
It didnt seem to matter how comforting everyone was being, nothing would ever make up for the loss he had suffered
He watched as Kanak was taken away, she didnt deserve to go this early, she had so much to live for and he would never forgive the woman who killed his Kanak, one day he would find her, he promised her that

"You want me to what now" a woman shouted, her long raven coloured hair trailed down her back, her nose ring moved slightly as she twitched her nose in disgust
"You heard what I said, you look exactly like Uma's wife, I want you to pretend to be her and get information about him and report back to me" the man spoke in the shadows
He looked down at what she was wearing
"But youre gonna have to change what youre wearing"
"Excuse me" she shouted "theres nothing wrong with what I am wearing"
"Uma's wife didnt wear crop tops and mini skirts, you want the money, you do as I say"
She sighed heavily "Fine, but youre gonna have to tell me exactly about this Kanak girl"
The man smiled "Oh dont worry, hell believe everything you say when he sees you, youll have him wrapped around your little finger"
The woman frowned "Im not sure I want to do this"
"Oh dont be silly" the man cooed "Its in his best interests, im his brother, I see his pain, hes mental without his Kanak"

Uma was on his way to work, he ensured he was as succesful as possible
Just incase, one day his Kanak would return to him, he would make sure he had everything he needed to keep her safe and happy
He got out of the car and walked up the steps to his office
"Officer, what can I do for you" Uma asked
The officer turned around slowly "Sir, is this your wife"
Uma looked at the picture, his heart clenched painfully
"Yeah, why"
The officer sighed heavily "Well a woman was taken into the station this morning resembling your wife, shes refused DNA tests, would you come and see her"
Uma's prayers had come true, he couldnt hide the smile that came to his face
"Yes, lets go"
