Part Two-
"There she is Sir" the officer spoke
Uma stepped forward, he had to constantly remind himself this wasnt a dream
She turned around slowly and smiled
"Kanak" he gasped, pulling her close to him
Her hands stayed firmly by her side, in his joy he didnt notice
He cupped her cheeks "I cant believe youre here and alive"
"Banda cute hai" (man is cute) she spoke under her breath, Uma raised his brow and turned to the officer
"Why is she talking like that"
"We believe she suffered a head injury, and shes been living in Lahore for two years, so that may explain why she talks the way she does"
Uma frowned "Lahore, why would she be there"
The officer shrugged "She doesnt remember a lot, thats why we want to do a DNA test, but she has refused"
Uma looked back at over her "I know my wife, she isnt lying"
"Tusee mahaan admi ho" (You are a great man) she said tapping his chest
"Kanak" he called
She didnt answer, looking away and if it wasnt for her chandan scent he would never believe her
She looked back at him and smiled "Lets go home then"
Uma nodded, his house would finally be home again
She looked down at his hand in hers, it was strange the electric feeling she got as she held his hand
He was a tall man, strong shoulders and very muscular
She felt terrible for what she was doing, she had to keep reminding herself she was helping him in the long run
But as she looked up at Uma and saw the way he looked down at her, she couldnt help but feel Kanak was a very lucky girl
Uma pulled the door open for her as she sat inside
Uma cupped her cheek, leaning his forehead against hers
"I cant believe youre here" he sighed
She froze, as he pulled back she couldnt help but be caught up in his gaze
"I" she muttered
Uma pushed her hair out of her face "I prayed every day, I never lost faith and look youre back now" his smile took her breath away
Clearing her throat she sat back "Shall we go"
Uma got into the car and drove slowly, he watched as she held onto the seat tightly, the past two years had been a hard one for her, she hated cars but wasnt sure why
Uma looked over and stopped the car
"What are you"
"Close your eyes"
She did as she was told
"Think of something that makes you happy"
His breath tickled her neck as he spoke and she shuddered, she really didnt have much good in her life, there wasnt much good to think about other than the fact that maybe she could help Uma
She felt his hand on hers as he started the car again
His presence both calming and confusing for her
It wasnt long before Uma arrived and parked the car
He got out and opened her car door, allowing her to get out
Uma held her hand as they walked in, she looked up at the huge house and smiled back at him
"My younger siblings aren't here yet and they dont know youre alive, but they will be so happy to see you"
She gulped down the lump in her throat, she really didnt want to keep this lie up for to long because when she had to leave it would hurt them, but for now she would make sure she could keep them happy

She stood up as a young boy ran to her
"Bhabisa" he shouted
An older girl ran over to
She hugged them tightly, they must be Suman and Shiv she thought.
She kneeled down, kissing them on the cheek
"Its so good to see you bhabisa, you know dadusa was so sad without you"
She looked up at Uma who had a red tinge on his cheeks, he looked away slightly
She stood up slowly and walked to him, his eyes showed just how much he loved Kanak, but she wasnt Kanak, she was Amayra.
She wondered about Kanak, what she was like, how nice she was, how they fell in love
"Im just gonna go and rest" she said, patting his arm
Uma's eyes widened "Are you not feeling well"
"No, im okay, just tired"
He nodded "Well if you need me just let me know"
She nodded, waving a good night she walked upstairs

The rain poured down outside heavily, she stirred in her sleep then sat up, deciding to stop at the door she stopped as she saw Uma stood bare chested in the cold harsh rain
She stepped forward as if something was calling her to him
Stopping in her steps she looked at his scarred back, without thinking she raised her hand and stroked one of his scars
His back clenched and he turned around
"What are you doing out here, its cold, you'll get ill" he spoke sternly
"Youre out here" she paused "Who did that to your back"
Uma shook his head "Me, when I lost you, even now youre here it doesnt feel real, ive missed you so much I"
Her eyes widened as his voice broke
"You know I remember when we used to stand out here in the rain, it was always your faviourate"
She turned on her heel quickly and grabbed a towel
"Come inside please"
He followed her inside and sat on the bench as she dried his hair with the towel
She had to look away from his broken expression, for fear she would cry to
Uma grabbed her wrist and stood up, he wrapped his arms around her waist and held her close to him, his wet figure against hers making her heart race
As she closed her eyes, holding onto his shoulders a small memory flashed through her head
A man spun a woman around, her back hitting their chest
She pulled back automatically, she touched her head
"Kanak, are you okay"
"I" she frowned then shook her head "im just tired, goodnight"
Uma frowned as she got into bed and closed her eyes tightly
Is it Kanak, is it not?
