Great Grand Masti' movie fame Kangna Sharma will for the first time enjoy the shoot experience of the small screen with Shashi and Sumeet Mittal's successful Star Plus show, Tu Sooraj Main Saanjh Piyaji.
Kangna never desired to be part of television, until destiny gave her the first meaty role on television!!
The good-looking beauty will enter the show in the role of Meera Mittal, a rich, smart, beautiful businesswoman whose entry will bring in a new twist in the tale.
Says Kangna, "I never wanted to do TV. It was Umeish Yamgarr who brought me closer to this role. I heard that the channel was looking for an apt face for this role for nearly two months. Umeish asked me to get a brief of the character and then decide whether to take it up or not. However, I liked the character so much that I had to give in. The costume, look and character brief given are definitely worth giving it a try.
On her expectations from her maiden TV role, she states, "Well, I have never shot for such long hours before. Yesterday was my first day for the show. And it was indeed hectic and tiring. But I enjoyed the whole process of it. The team gave me a warm welcome. I want the role to grow big in the minds of the viewers. I want the character to get noticed.
Kangna is all praise for co-actor and lead of the show, Avinesh Rekhi (Umashankar). "I shot with him yesterday, and he was a great help. I was a bit nervous as it was the first time for me. He made me feel comfortable and told me that I will get into the groove of shooting for long hours in few days time. He's a nice human being and a good actor.
On her role, Kangna states, "My role is not negative. Meera is a positive girl and will never harm anyone. Usually, if a character is modern and rich, she is supposed to be negative. However, this character will break this trend and will convey that even a modern and rich girl can be positive.
We hear that in the track to come, Meera will fall in love with Umshankar...
