Uma threw Kanak on the floor of the mandap

Looking up at him she wiped her eyes
"Why are you doing this"

Uma pulled her up, yanking her around the fire she tried to pull back
He put the mangalsultra around her neck
And pushed the sindoor on her hair

Closing her eyes she cried as he dragged her back to the house
Santosh dropped the plates on the floor as she looked at the couple

"What have you done" she shouted
Kanak gulped, still not wanting Uma to get in trouble

"It was all my idea "
Kanak spoke

Uma looked over at her shocked, fear overcame him

Once again he had made a rash decision
Looking over at Santosh, he watched her raise her hand to slap Kanak

Stepping infront of her
Santosh stopped

Uma sighed heavily before he explained the phonecall and the quick marriage

Santosh went to slap Uma but Kanak stopped her
"Please"

Pulling her hand back she sighed "Revati must never know about this"

"Know about what" Revati asked walking down the stairs

Grabbing Uma's collar she yanked him forward
"Is this how I raised you, apologise now"

Uma looked toward Kanak "Kanak I I am sorry"

Kanak's eyes widened at his apology
"You give her everything she deserves and nothing less, we cannot change what has happened but we must move forward"

Uma nodded as Kanak went to pack her stuff to move

It was later that night when Kanak walked out of Uma's bathroom
Slipping Uma grabbed her

"Your suit, it will be ruined"
Uma shook his head, stroking her cheek "I don't care"

Kanak blushed "Uma you know I would never"
Putting his finger over her lips he shook his head "I know, I dont know if you can ever forgive me for what I did but I will live everyday trying to make it up to you"

Resting her head on his chest, they looked out of the mirror
"You remember I said when we met at the airport it could have been fate"
Uma hummed in reply

"Well, maybe Akash's call was fate, because we were meant to get married anyway, so maybe it happened in the wrong way but it happened and I dont regret it"


Looking down at her in awe he smiled "How can you be so good"
Winking she pulled him closer "Im not always this good"

"Hmm okay, so now you understand what I want"
Kanak nodded , standing on her tiptoes she pressed a kiss to her lips as he pulled her to the bed

Pressing soft kisses to her neck, Uma smiled down at Kanak, for she was finally his and he was finally hers

It was early hours of the morning when Uma woke up to Kanak shaking him

"What, im trying to sleep"
"I want you to come and see my parents with me"

Pulling himself up he agreed as he went to get ready


Half an hour later, Uma and Kanak arrived at the gravestones

Kanak grasped his hand yanking him forward
Uma shook his head "I dont have any rights, I let them down"

"We all make mistakes, please Uma, for me"
Nodding he allowed her to drag him forward


"Mama, Papa, I know you probably already gave your acceptance on our relationship, this is my husband Uma, and I know hes spent more time with you than I could, getting to know you and showing you how much of a good man he is"

Resting her head on his shoulder she continued "Our path to this relationship hasnt been easy, but we are here now and I'm happy, so I hope we have your blessings for our future and I wanted you to witness this moment"

Uma looked confused as Kanak kneeled down and looked up at him "Maybe the order is messy, but Uma, I love you and if im lucky youll tell me that you love me to, I wanted to say this a few days back but waited because I wanted my parents to see just how happy you make me"

Uma pulled her up, and held her close "I love you to"
Uma and Kanak looked up at the fireworks in the sky

Nudging him she laughed "Youre not the only one good at surprises"

And as Uma and Kanak walked away hand in hand the sun set slowly.

Their shadows lingering behind them.
