"Uma, can you drop Kanak home to say goodbye to her family and pick the rest of her stuff up"

Uma nodded as he grabbed his keys
Palomi walked over "Uma, I will come with you"
Nanda shook her head "No, i need you to help with the cooking"

Palomi turned and stormed away, bashing Kanak on the shoulder as she did
Kanak rubbed her shoulder as she looked back at Palomi, what was her problem?


Getting into the car
Kanak heaved a sigh
"Why is it whenever youre around I can smell chandan"

Kanak shrugged "Uh, must be the dress"
Uma shook his head "No, Palomi never smells like this"
Kanak looked out of the window

"So you are going to marry Palomi"
Uma nodded "Yes , she is my perfect match, we had been promised to eachother since children"

Kanak looked confused "So you love her"
Uma shook his head "What has love got to do with this? I will provide for her in any way I can, I will treat her well, she doesnt need my love"

Kanak turned to look at him "Every girl who wants to marry, spends so much time dreaming about marrying the love of their life, if you cannot offer her love, then you offer nothing, anyone can give her material things, only some can offer love, its cruel to marry her without giving her your heart"

Uma shook his head "She doesnt love me either"
"What if she does? What if you love someone else some day"

"I wouldnt betray her"
Kanak laughed "You already are now"
Uma's eyebrows furrowed "Why do you care so much for her"

Kanak shrugged "I am a woman, she is a woman, when there is an issue we work together, where will we get and what will we achieve if all we do is put eachother down when we should work as a team"

Uma nodded, she spoke a lot of sense, but how could you love someone you never loved from the start?

Getting out of the car they arrived at the Rathi household

Meena walked outside "So you must be working for a rich family if you even got a personalised driver"
Kanak laughed as Uma shook his head

As Kanak and Uma went to get in the car
Ved came up behind her "Wont you say goodbye to me"
Turning she hugged him "Bye! Dont miss me to much"

Uma felt a feeling he hadn't before, was this a boyfriend?

He was going to be married soon anyway

"Weee" Kanak squealed as Uma drove down another hill
Uma covered his ear "Miss Rathi please, my ears"

Kanak glared back at him, sticking her head out of the window she let her hair fly back

As the car stopped in traffic, a young child walked over to Uma's side "Bhaiya, flowers"
Uma pulled out his wallet giving the boy the money

The boy tried to give him all 10, Uma shook his head "No, you sell the rest, ill just have one"
The boy thanked him, offering his prayers

Kanak looked at Uma , smiling, he had a golden heart
Uma passed the flowers to Kanak
Kanak looked on shocked as she took them

"Aren't you going to give them to Palomi, why me"
Uma laughed "I am, but I cant hold them and drive"
Kanak blushed in embarassment "Oh"


As they arrived back at the house, Kanak tried to give him the flowers back
He shook his head "Keep them"
"Why"
Uma smiled "For teaching me today that having a young heart is important no matter what your age"

Kanak sniffed the flowers as she smiled up at him, as they arrived at the door she turned around to face him "Dont think this means youre forgiven"

Uma lifted his hands "I wouldnt even dream of it"
Smiling smugly she walked over to Nanda

"Allow me to show you your room"

"So, this is your room, next door is Uma's room, opposite is Shiv's and up there is mine, Palomi's and Saras'"
Kanak nodded "Is there not a room away from Uma"

Nanda laughed "Sadly not, dont worry he doesnt snore"

She would never get any peace if she stayed right next to Uma

"Anyway, ill let you unpack, dinner is in an hour and a half and if you need anything just call me"
Kanak thanked her and went into her room

Kanak had just finished unpacking and had changed into clothes more comfortable for her
Walking down the stairs she tripped and fell right into Uma

"Got a habit of falling around me"
Kanak ignored his comment as Palomi stood at the top of the stairs

Kanak agreed as she reached the bottom of the stairs "Okay, im going to count to 30, you have to hide"
Before Kanak had a chance to move, Shiv was already on 7

Kanak ran upstairs, running in the first room she found she hid behind the curtains
Uma walked out of the bathroom, Kanak's eyes widened as she saw him without any clothes on the top half

"Come on Kanak youre fine, he is just some ordinary man"

Walking over to the curtain he pulled it back, Kanak had never been good at whispering

"Miss Rathi what are you"
Kanak grabbed Uma, pushing his hand over his mouth she pulled the curtain around them

"Kanak, where are you" asked Shiv as he walked into the room
Uma's hot breath on Kanak's hand sent chills through her body

Removing her hand she put her finger to her lips
Uma nodded as she smiled back at her
"Hmm, Kanak isnt in here"

Shiv left and Kanak let out a sigh of relief
Palomi walked in "Uma, dinner is ready"

Making him fall again and get twisted in the curtain

Kanak shook her head, as Uma walked down the stairs, his hair a mess

He pointed his thumb down as he caught Kanak's eye
Kanak choked again on her food as Nanda slapped her back

"Can you pass me the sugar" asked Uma
Kanak slid it over, Uma discreetly swapped the sugar for salt as he slid it back to Kanak

Kanak took 2 teaspoons and mixed it in her tea
Sipping it she spat
Glaring up at him he laughed


"Oh Uma you will pay for that"
"What did you say" asked Nanda

Kanak's eyes widened "Oh I was just asking Uma what my pay was"
Nanda nodded as Uma walked out laughing
"Will you take this to Uma's room"

Kanak nodded as she took the towels, now was the perfect time for revenge

Grabbing the green hair dye from her bag she slid into his bathroom
Grabbing his shampoo bottle after putting the towels down she poured the dye in, shaking it in her hand she smiled

"Dont worry Uma its not permanant"

She went to walk out of the bathroom when she heard Uma walk into his room, pushing open the window she climbed out

Tiptoeing on the ledge she reached hee bedroom, thank god her bedroom window was open

Although as Kanak went for a shower, she had no idea that great minds think alike and Uma wouldn't be the only one to wake up with green hair!

Kanak woke up, looking in the mirror she let out a shrill scream as she yanked at her hair "Oh Uma you are fast, but never faster than me"

Hearing a knock on her door she opened it "Heres some black hair dye, my engagement is tomorrow what would Palomi say if her guest arrived with green hair"

Kanak scowled at a smirking Uma "How come your hair isnt green"
Uma shook the bottle of dye, throwing it to her he walked away


As Kanak walked downstairs she saw the arrangements for the engagement taking place
"Kanak will you hang that over there please"

Kanak climbed the ladder ready to hang up the ornament when somebody knocked the ladder sending her flying back

Uma caught her by the waist as she fell back, she squeezed her eyes shut as he held her tightly

"Always falling around me"
Uma's husky voice shook Kanak out of her trance as she peeled open her eyes

Putting her down he walked away as she looked over at a glaring Palomi

Palomi ensured Uma was near as she climbed up the other ladder as she screamed and threw herself back

She landed on the floor in a heap as Uma looked down at her, "be more careful next time"

Lifting her up he sat her onto the sofa, his hand massaging her ankle

Kanak watched as her heartbeat quickened
Why did this bother her?

A knock on the door made everyone look up
