Uma and his patience thats the first thing i love . The way he explains things with so much calm , gentleness but assertiveness. I always admire that. His respect to elders ; he does every work with dedication from pooja to drying kanak's hair or tying her blouse dori.
His care fot Kanak avoiding her from hitting her head to table draw to stopping her pallu to fall on the diya ( the latest).
His devotion to shiva, his ayurvedic profession , his logic against mobile or getting up early or witnessng fullmoon with scientific reasoning. I can go on...
What i dont like is though he knows certain things dont have space in modern era -like untouchability against women on monthly periods, women going out with male protection.women have to be dependent onmale relations( father husband and son), and finally the inhuman practice of drinking the water after cleaning patis feet.
Why i say he knows or even kind of seeing some logic in those things when Kanak explained , i have seen him becoming quite or not angry with Kanak or even felt sad with helplessness feeling.
So far nobody had countered him on the above points especially relating to women, or he was not aware of the things as he had not felt it as his mother and sisters accepted them wholeheartedly oreven shown happiness in following such things. So now when Kanak showed him a different perspective he is kind of restless. I hope and verymuch sure he will change when Kanak actually comes in to his life.
Sorry big post. What to do i am so much fasinated by Uma a honest, pure and good soul with a biased broughtup regarding women. It can be changed is nt it?
