Wow,thought we would have a definite answer and a one sided vote on this one, but we almost have a 50-50 .

I would go for a NO, I will not marry him.

. he is good at heart , but he needs to change a few things abt him here and there. Too much into dharam.

I am glad ppl who voted YES , gave an explanation as to why they would marry him and the reason behind it. Got me thinking of how there r so many cultures out there and I definitely respect that and their opinion :)

If not forced, definitely no! :)

I have been married for many years now a man who has been giving me as much freedom as i wanted and he's got it too. We even are different religions, but religion never interfere between us, neither we let our families to do that. If my husband would have married me forcibly, i would thank God. 😊.

I could get over many things, but not lack of freedom.

That's why i blame Uma for what he has done after marriage.

Let's see. I get to drink cow piss and washed feet water. I don't get to eat onions forget meat. I 've to get up before dawn. Cellphones are banned. No tea. My brother is beaten by my husband's people and as bonus my grandma is conned out of family biz by my husband's bro. I am replaceable by a picture. Wow! Then there is the hot iron tatooing cuz i am not pure. The hairwashing schedule. The guard I must walk with outside the front door. And my no means YES! Last, but not least I don't get to be me instead I get to be daasi, advisor, mom, n Rambha on demand.

So interested, some of us talk about his heart & others talk about his family's rules

for me, I can bear to drink cow piss if that good for my healthy, even i ate cockroach, grasshopper & live octopus bcz curious with the taste

Washed feet & drink the water is priest's instruction not came from him, he let her when she choice to not do it

My mom & dad doesnt eat onions, meat, fish, egg & milk, they can handle it & still fit

I have 1yr old baby, not only wake up before dawn, even my lack of sleep, but im happy bcz i love my baby

I dont like tea, cola, drink alcohol sometime but really need coffee, maybe it will be hard for me

About what his people did to Ved, i think he wouldn't agree with what they did & his people know that

@bold...incase u mean that he wouldnt have allowed the fight,he has no prblm.using violence..before payal.marriage..he himself said to his people that if they,ie.parents dnt understand by explanation then we would use force..

and uma as husband..no not my type..because though considering it wont be a forced marriage..living thru all thise rules for life will be a big deal..one do make adjustments with each other in a marriage..i can only be ok if my husband too make bit of adjustments according to me..the effort should be from both sides..the uma shown until now has made no adjustments in.life for.kanak..but he has alwats expected kanak.to change for him..tht wont be ok with me..

BIG NO!!

Waking up at 7 itself screws me up, so 4 doesn't even stand a chance..I can't do it everyday!!

I don't like onion n garlic pieces coming in my mouth..but definitely want them in a gravy, so can't leave onion n garlic..

I just can't drink gaumutra everyday..although I'm not addicted to tea, but I like coffee, so I can't leave coffee too..

Nobody on earth can live without mobile phones..n a landline in d hall can't make up for it..there's something called PRIVACY!! Which one cannot get in dat house..even suhaagraat, in dat house, is a topic of discussion..

I cannot control myself once a see my favorite food items..so I will eat whenever I wish..

I can't tag along with me, a man or boy, all d time..I don't hv any brother n my father isn't free to take me out for every small thing, so I'm habituated to going out alone..can't change dat!!

I wash my hair whenever I wish..no Monday-thursday rule!!

We live totally indifferent during our periods..we aren't confined to our rooms..we can move freely in our house..

I can't become anyone's rambha or dasi or dharitri or watever else..I'm your wife, treat me as your wife..help me in my work.. apologize for your mistakes..N DON'T TEST MY PATIENCE!!

Can't tolerate any Palomi or Suman..

Can't get my partner's name printed on my hand, if I don't want to..

Can't give shuddhi tests for every small small things..

Can't apologize in such bizzare n horrendous ways like washing feet n drinking dat water..

Can't lose my self respect..

Quite a long one, but these r some of s thousand reasons y I can't marry Uma Shankar!!

A big no from me.He is a hypocrite and ignorant about his dharma.Any way I am happily married to a real dharmic husband who gives equal freedom to me and treats me with utmost respect.To be honest only after I got married did I understand the real meaning of dharma and Hinduism.So in my opinion Uma doesn't represent any of that
