TSMSPJ*ep.71*23.6.17: My Impression*Take the starch out of someone..
To be seen dressed in certain starched fabrics is a matter of much pride in certain areas of the world. Starch or carbohydrate substance, is diluted with water and used to stiffen , dull lifeless fabrics. To have an attitude lined with starch, implicates a certain formality and rigidity in mannerism. This episode is a carry forward of yesterday's episode , but one which shows some repercussions of Kanak's getting back at Uma deeds.
To me both Uma and Kanak are actively involved in taking the starch or rigidity out of each other. Their reaction against each other's action, to me is about making the other less arrogant or stiff. They both equally , aim to tire and weaken each other. If in the dead of the night Kanak chose to rob away the softness of his clean laundered clothes, by adding starch to them! in the hope of deflating his ego as she sees it, and to ridicule Uma. In retaliation, the next morning when Kanak expects to reap the results of her action.. to behold, Uma dressed in stiff rustling attire. She is at the receiving end of being much out of air and somewhat squashed by Uma before his whole family. The man has clearly had enough of her snubs, digs and pranks! and thus this time, in a roundabout way ,he makes it know to all, that Kanak , misinterpreted his given task to her of adding starch to his kurtas . By some error in her understanding, she starched his undergarments as well! Uma thinks it fit that Kanak rectify her mistake by washing out the fabric stiffening substance, by restoring his underpants to their normal softness. Kanak has no other choice but to graciously accept her punishment. The cvs, add in Palomi's keenness to handle and have the privilege to launder, Kanak's husband's knickers! Only he likes the idea of Kanak dong the washing! Wash off sinning daily against her husband! All this to me is to big up Uma's image as the much desired man! Kanak on the other hand is shown rather distastefully with her pincer grip reluctantly accepting his underpants..
Another noticeable aspect to me overall is that the more fouls and cock ups! Kanak does! Uma's larger than life man image is notched up alongside. In this episode I also felt, that anyone with a new age mindset, like Kanak, is considered somewhat illiterate and lacking in knowledge about many enlightenments of the dharm and ways to a healthy lifestyle. This may be true, and since learning is life long, gaining knowledge is not a bad deal as such. Shiv clearly for Kanak is a font of knowledge ! Tea too is treated as a stimulant. Which I believe it is a mild one, and as awareness of its harm alongside with coffee, decaffeinated hot beverages are being sold and being used by health conscious consumers!
These are some brief impressions that I got after watching the continuing tit for tat battle between Kanak and Uma. For me and I might be the only one on this forum, who now finds the story tedious. I envisaged Kanak running her father's ailing business with Uma supporting her wholeheartedly. Instead I get Kanak being reduced to nothing! by every progressing day. Maybe I am being impatience, but I am looking for substance between this lamp and wick's bond not an endless battle of grappling each other's throats! now heaven alone knows what new offensive is planned between these two?? Have to say the dharm briefs about good living, as unheard as they might be to Kanak, are a useful sources of information... hamlet53 24.6.17 ..Have a good weekend.. love hammie
