Gita in kanak is really not sitting well with me cos it supposed to be her true colours but the one thing I knw is that Kanak can't be cold hearted , watching her intentionally hurting And causing harm to uma with no remorse is a bit difficult to digest. As for the way Uma chose to live his life , I feel it stems from a lot of pain which his mom is

Somehow become her saviour or umas saviour nowdays i believe its the latter. I think the pyn in

her eyes is for her son who must have sacrificed a lot maybe even his dreams to take on the responsibility of raising his baby brother and sisters while taking care off his disabled mom and building up a business.it could be that he had left university or training in his chosen career to come back to pick up the pieces. I had read somewhere that the story who lead to him becoming an army officer maybe that was his abandoned dream , anyway i think he is highly educated he must be to understand the cause n effect of medicines and he does understand Kanaks English but he chooses to speak in his mother tongue.Aditya and his father could be the reason for shunning the western lifestyle and the his careful moulding of shiv is a bit of a clue off that. Sometyms ppl hide their pain and disappointment in their fantical believes and maybe this is the only way for him to cope.

Greta was supposed to be a lively, larger than life, happy annoying Kanak, but she ended up being insensitive towards her own actions. She drenched US, trying to break his stance... he ends up getting a cold... she didn't stop for a second to feel guilty. She instead annoyed him more that she can't sleep while he sneezes... this didn't go well with me. I don't want her to be mahaan, self sacrificing Devi, but a sensible sensitive human being... that feels a little guilty by seeing the result of her prank.

US needs to be shown the mirror that not all what he does is right... but her approach and attitude is not correct for it. US is a complex man, a thoughtful person... would he swayed by immature antics. He is only amused by her attitude, it has no definite affect on him. As he takes her too lightly.
Kanak has no walking away from the ditch she herself dug when she returned to Ladno. Even I wonder how would Kanak even imagine to walk away from all this unscathed.
Whether Kanak will realize the error of her action remains to be seen, she is rattled by his behavior but let's see how she copes up to it.

I absolutely love your insight regarding US stoicness and rigidity. How what when with time he became a stone he seems to Kanak. It's the layers underneath his skin, the bruises of past, family, and dreams the burden he carries all by himself. Yes aptly said that people hide their pain in their beliefs. Might be the case for US, why is he like this. He is an enigma yet to be explained, layers and layers of age and time held together with pain has made US what he is today. I would love to see if he gave up his dream for army-- would be a connection to Sandy.
