PART TWENTY EIGHT
kripa preferred a nap after the breakfast and angad went with her. shslept easily like a baby as he looked on... for how long he kept on looking at her like that, he dint know... all that hapened was after wat felt like minutes,{actually it was 3hrs!} kripa was tapping angad.
kripa: angad...utho na... sab log aa gaye..
angad shrugged and turned to doze off again
kripa tugged at him.
angad: chodo na kripa... kal properly so nahi paya tumhare wajah se
kripa: mere wajah se??? woh kaise?
angad: poori raat tumare wajah se muje kya karna pada, tume yaad to hoga..tumhi ne toh woh salwar pehnke aayi thi jisme tum roz se bhi zyada sexy lag rahi thi aur mujse reh nahi paya...
kripa hit him playfully: tum bhi na angad...jaldi aa jao... sabko khush khabri jo deni hai...
angad smiled and got up. they both went down. shabd and mahi were grinning ear to ear because the impending arrival of the baby had made them very happy. AND ROMANTIC... shabd was playing with her hands and she seemed to be enjoying it. they hadnt told the others about angad and kripa because they wanted the yet-to-be parents to do the honour themselves.
naina, dilip, aaliyah and dadi were all present. they were talking about the pooja and the stuff to be done for the mehndi ceremony that very evening.
angad and kripa walked towards them and sat.
angad: kaisi rahi pooja???
naina: bahut khaas pooja thi...tum log bhi aa sakte the
naina glared at angad, kripa, mahi and shabd.
angad whispered to kripa: jitni khaas humari subah thi, utni khaas toh nahi ho sakti na???
kripa: shut up
but she blushed and grinned at the same time at his comment. shabd and mahi were impatiently waiting for them to break the news that they could celebrate.
shbad: bhai...tum kuch kehne waale the na???
angad started: oh woh main..
he stuttered... he dint know how to tell it. kripa was blushing deeper and deeper.
dilip: kya hai beta???
he looked from angad to shabd and back again. angad seemed tongue tied. kripa looked up and saw angad's embarassment. she got up and walked to naina and sat next to her.
naina looked at her and smiled questioningly.
kripa whispered something in her ears. naina's frown changed to surpise and to smile and then a great delight. she hugged kripa before she could finish.
naina excitedly: sach???
kripa: jee mummy jee
naina hugged her again and kissed her forehead.
dilip: kya ho rahe hai???
dadi: hume bhi bataao...
naina had tears in her eyes as she looked at dadi.
naina to dadi: aap pardadi ban ne waale hai... kripa ne khush khabri di...
she then turned to dilip: aur aap dadaji... main dadi ban ne waali hoon... aaj main bahut khush hoon
dilip and dadi were overwhelmed with happiness. aaliyah did a double take and hugged everyone..naina in delight took off the heavy gold necklace she was wearing and gifted to kripa.

by sometime, relatives started pouring in. kripa's parents too arrived hearing the news. everyone were fussing over kripa so badly that angad hardly got time to see her. plus he and shabd were given loads of work.
angad couldnt get one work properly done because all his thoughts were on kripa and he couldnt concentrate. shabd sympathized for once and helped angad sort things out.
once or twice, angad got to see kripa...but she was the centre of attraction for the crowd present at the khanna mansion, along with aaliyah. kripa was having mehndi put on her hands too.
shabd was having his own problems... he couldnt find mahi anywhere at all. he had been looking for her everywhere. not one sign of her. he was confused as to where she was. she wasnt even with kripa.
his doubt was soon solved by a little kid. the boy ran upto him and gave him a small folded paper. he unfolded it and read.
"apne kamre me aa jao...mahi
shabd smiled and escaped upstairs. nobody was on the upper floor. it was completely deserted.
he opened his room door and entered. he locked it from inside. the lights were all turned off. but he could see mahi in the balcony. she was in a deep purple salwar suit.
he went upto her and touched her shoulder. she turned and he was shocked. her eyes were all red and she was still crying.
shabd was truely concerned: mahi kya hua???
mahi dint say anything... she just kept on letting her tears flow. she hugged him. he caressed her head.
shabd: mahi...bataao muje...kyu ro rahi ho?
mahi clutched on to him even harder.
shabd: baat kya hai meri jaan??? teri ye aansu muje bahut dard de rahi hai
mahi let go of him and looked into his eyes...
mahi: muje chodke jaa rahe ho na?
shabd looked confused: kaha jaa raha hoon??? main yaha toh hoon.
mahi: char din ke baad tum wapas canada jaa rahe ho...muje chodke... aur tum itne dumb act kar rahe ho???
shabd: oh us baat ke liye... par kya karu darling...jaana toh padega hi
mahi clutchd him again and harder than last time that shabd yelped in pain.
mahi: tumare bina ab ek pal bhi nahi reh sakti...toh in mahine kaise kaat jayenge???
shabd: ye sab tumari wajah se hi toh hua hai...
mahi let go of him again and glared at him.
mahi: woh kaise???
shabd: agar tumne pehle hi mere proposal maan liya hota toh main ye contract kabhi sign nahi karta... ab dekho tumne kya kiya
hearing this mahi renewed her sobs...this time harder...
mahi: ye sab meri galti hai...
she cried a lot. but this time shabd caught her by the shoulder and made her look into his eyes.
shabd: mahi dekho muje...
mahi looked into his eyes...tears still flowing...
shabd: aur rona bandh karo.
and he wiped off her tears.
shabd: meri baat dhyan se suno... ye humare liye ek pariksha hai... humari pyaar ki pariksha... agar hum isme safal hote hai toh humara pyaar aur mazboot hoga... ye judaai humare pyaar ko gehri banayegi...
mahi nodded like a dummy.
mahi: par main kaise rahoongi tere bagaair???
shabd: main tume roz phone karoonga...
mahi: ek din bhi chooti na...tume canada aake maroongi main
shabd: toh phir phone nahi karoonga... isi bahaane tum mere saath aoge... aisa kyu nahi karte...tum mere saath canada chalo
mahi shook her head.
mahi: ye nahi ho sakta shabd...humare shaadi bhi nahi hui hai,,, aur mummy daddy kya sochenge... aur toh aur... maine tumare company main itna kuch karne ka plan kiya hai... use chod nahi sakti na
shabd grew thoughtful...
mahi: kya soch rahe ho???
shabd: yehi ki iss kaam waam ke chakkar main tum muje bhool toh nahi jaaoge
mahi: kaisi baatein kar rahe ho??? aise kaise bhool sakthi hoon apni pyaar ko???
shabd: sach???
mahi: bilkul...
shabd bent closer towards mahi...their eyes were locked...their hearts were beating closer... she could feel his breath...he was that close...she closed her eyes and they forgot the world in the kiss...after wat seemed like ages, they broke apart. he held her by the shoulder and both of them went down.
