ok...all plans to grab some shut eye before i get cracking on class material today down the drain! instead of modals and ergatives am going to be spewing knukkad...

@ sareeta, agree there that while we would all love to see scene one, where conversationally he says something not quite agreeable and apologises for that, it is the most unlike thing to happen. but scene 2, is also unlike...i think!

but beyond that and to safer territory...i watched the second half again and like we discussed sareeta, shila's discomfort as ridhima was so superbly enacted that i notice subtleties very time. like the reassuring talk she has with herself...main pehnoonigi, zaroor pehnoongi, all the while, her voice is like that of a child challenged, yet determined, her eyes give away the trepidation on attempting something new. and then the motivation that there's nothing that wouldn't suit her. in fact the whole sequnece was well shot...how many times have we, left at home alone, tried or atleast imagined ourselves in attire that we normally don't wear? be it the first ever dupatta wrapped around us fashioned like a sari when we are all of 5 or trying on the slightly uncharacteristic outfit you'e indulged on and are dying to try on when you are 30?

the episode i felt, belonged to shilpa. she deserves every bit of credit. ironically, the only time she failed to delive was during the preening and i think that is because as shilpa, she failed to think like ridhima, being as comfortble as she is in western attire.

the insecurity about her appearance, wanting to be thin so she could wear short clothes, trying to swallow sprouts, and yet giving in to her normal appetite and tastes the minute she is reassured that she doesn't need to lose weight or change the way she dresses could be chapters out of any young girl's life!

@ sareeta...and may i also re iterate what we have been saying since the promo aired? we are essentially convinced that the appreciation in armaan's eyes, is not for the vision he beholds, it is more for the gesture that she should attempt to wear something that she has categorically said she is uncomfortable in. he does not lech, he does not want to look and respects her privacy, but gives in every now and then to the temptation to look (as does ridhima). in fact you can see the devil and the angel perched on either shoulder, each censuring and goading him in different direction. the gamut of emotions as he struggles with his respect, his appreciation for the gesture and of course, how she looks is beautiful and above any sleaze.

for the first time (someone mentioned this before) he does not want to touch. the fragility of what he sees moves him. its almost like he feels he will besmirch the moment by touching her. so here's a man who pulls, drags, holds, at every given opportunity, but even when it is to help ridhima open the cupboard, when he returns after drying himself off (standing behind her awkwardly), when she hurts herself, when he's done treating her wound...he does not touch!!! even when he helps her on to the counter, he offers minimal physical assistance!!

for the first time, he wishes he weren't there and yet he cannot tear himself away from the moment and the place...

i want to see the way this turmoil is resolved...

Aarti: Totally agree with ya, having discussed that with you over phone, was jus too lazy to type it here and reiterate it, but yes I noticed the subtleties and yes the episode was nonetheless Shilpa's and Ridhima's discomfort , post the preening and all that was superbly done... it was a perfect match of expressions and for once I was watching Ridhima too!!

Loved the cafe scene and the sprouts bit ... and also the way she kept holding on to her top , in the kitchen... and was still terribly uncomfortable...was so beautifully done...

Is it me or there were those beautiful dramatic pauses , when Ridzy would jus stop for a moment before she walked out of the room... happens twice in teh epi... in the Gupta household and I thought it said a lot... once while handing over the towel and one in teh kitchen when she jus goes past him... and she jus turns around acknowledging that entire thing and then there is air of awkwardness and acknowledgement of what led to her being seen in taht outfit... Armaan being aware of the answer to his ..."yeh sab" before his classic atchoo and she silently letting him know, it was for him...that one pause and looking back gesture spoke such volumes and the one in the room when she handed it over to him as well... like she didnt know whether he wanted her to leave , like in two minds and when she decided she should and yet both of them didnt want the other to leave....

I loved those two instances in the episode for the simple reason that the entire stance of the two characters and their body language jus spoke so much... such a huge gamut of emotions....!

Aarti: The bit about Armaan being moved by her gesture to do something for him , what she was uncomfortable in shedding her inhibhitions was something I mentioned in the old Knukkad... as soon as the promo aired , so Yeah I totally agree... I insntantly caught to what you were saying coz, as soon as the promo aired and the discussions were on, I remmeber posting and saying , the look was devoid of lust ad all it had was the look of "she did it for me" ... especially the blink and pout... and yes like you so clearly put ... the fragility of it all making him not wanting to touch and the way he pulls the curtain ... was more of him feeling like he was invading her privacy , the moment with herself and yet he could not stop himself... he loved the entire gesture and knowing that he was the reason ... for that young woman, happy woth somehting, she had never attempted before and almost discovering herself in a new avtar ( for the lack of a better word)
I loved the curtain scene , more for what his eyes conveyed... you could jus see... he was stealing glances... and not jus gaping... it was like.. I am not supposed to see... its not right for me to intrude but jus one look... doesnt she look adorable bit...

He jus wanted to revel in that moment that he was the reason too for it ... !

@ sareeta...why are u being shown as offline? well, yes, the pauses...taking off from armaan's refusal to touch this time...it was a lovely lovely contrast...

this once ridhima was not running yes, once when she leaves to get him the towle and the second when she attempts to give him his praviacy, she pauses on her way out...hoping...for a touch? maybe not...for a word of appreciation, maybe? but most importantly for a glipmse of that look of wonder in armaan's eyes...did she just do this for me????

Kanagan , Aarti - I agree, its about time, they showed some bonding like that between Armaan and Ridzy , where they spend some time talking, even if it is all night, but much as we want that to happen... seems like the precap with him saying sorry could be read two ways

1. They do end up talking into the wee hrs of the night and something he says accidentally ticks her off and he feels pretty silly abt himself too and apologizes.... ( coz its quite possible when ppl begin to talk, we do realize ,.. what we dont like and like abt the way or what they talk... jus some silly preferences...but yet preferences nonetheless)

2. Well... abt the whole act of giving into the moment , even it is where the promo ended!

My personal fav would be first one!

the first scenenario would invariably be a treat.some bonding n talkin, sharing n laughing would take thr relationship to a new level.Yet I do not see this happening. They presently seem to be focussing on the the awareness between the two.the tension at being caught in the situation they are.and boy!both the actors are doing a wonderful job..Shilpa's performance has been commendable in the episode...as u n arti di hav pointed out..

also, the second one ..i dont see this one happening too.somehow feel he apologises only for indirectly compelling her to wear something she doesnt approve of...ofcourse after he leaves her the night before...because the MPK scene was shown in the promo, somehow usko fit karna hai na...

Kan , Aarti - Yeah the second scenario, I realized I worded it incorrectly...I was intending to say , that him jus ribbing her abt her warddrobe may be the reason to say sorry, coz that was eventually led to all the ohter events as well...

But all said and done... as I first mentioned... I jus have a feeling , its gonna end up something more on masti lines a la SRK... or may be not... acutally... I dont want to even guess... I'd jus like to wait and watch! 😆

Aarti, dunno yaar... have been shown offline, refreshed the page a couple of times too , dunno!

@sareet a & aarti..I have to nod with u when I say this..that this time Ridzee did express well, the instances which u have put it are so soft & yet expressive. They both conveyed everything in those two glances.

One more heart stopper look was when Ridz blows a Kiss...& they show KSG hiding behind the curtain peeking...one slight blink, with a smile in his eye ...just had seen the expression so many times. And wld see it over & over again. He is so brilliant.

@sareeta di-quoting u.."I loved the curtain scene , more for what his eyes conveyed... you could jus see... he was stealing glances... and not jus gaping... it was like.. I am not supposed to see... its not right for me to intrude but jus one look... doesnt she look adorable bit..."

put wonderfully...cudnt add more but tht look of wonder in his eyes was just so...(*fumbling for words*)...1000s of expressions playing on his face...the sheepish look of a kid who's doing something mommy forbade him to...his pout n open mouth expressing marvel at the sight..the way he cudnt look away despite of desperate attempts...
👏 ksg back in his element..
