Poonam's story

i've recently started watching the show, and Poonam's past and pain keeps on being mentioned...can someone let me know what everyone is referring to?

This is a talent show - don't know what it has to do with people's suffering.

Poonam is a good singer and they should stop trying to get sympathy votes for her. It is an insult to her talent and is not fair to the other contestants. It is not their fault that she has suffering in her life.

Well Poonam comes from the slums and when growing up, she was extremely poor and at times they didn't have food in their house and would go days without any food

her dad walked out on her mom before she was born and like she had to do some crappy job getting paid $600 a month to feed her mom who has some illness

yea, the so-called "love story" is between aneek, amanat, and sumedha (they never mention her name but her face is always shown when talking about the love triangle)

Bringing up this sad personal details belittles the good singer Poonam.
Why can't the network be more sensitive to this and stop broadcasting the story over & over again.
She can get votes based on her singing.

Poonam is talented and I think she does not require sympathy votes. Its sad that they keep showing it and talking about it now and then. It sometimes looks like they are mocking her poverty. 😡

Aphro, I think you mean Rs.600 because $600 is approximately Rs.25000 which is a huge amount as far as ordinary Indians are concerned.

The job you are referring to is that Poonam was working in a telephone booth as ID had mentioned earlier in one of the episodes. But how can you term any self respecting job which is gives lively hood for a lot of poor Indians as crappy, isn't there a thing known as dignity of labour?
