Actor Rajesh Kumar has spoken about the enduring presence of late actor Satish Shah, saying he continues to remain a part of everyday conversations among the Sarabhai vs Sarabhai cast. In a recent interaction, Rajesh reflected on how memories of Satish often surface in casual exchanges and shared humour.
Speaking to Bollywood Bubble, Rajesh said, “He’s still around in our conversations." He explained that even simple moments, such as sharing a meme or a joke on their group, end up reminding them of Satish. Referring to co star Ratna Pathak Shah, he noted that whenever she shares something, someone often remarks how Satish Shah would have responded. He added that the group still fondly refers to him as “Kaka", highlighting the familiarity and warmth he brought to their bond.
Rajesh also connected these memories to the recent appreciation received by Rakesh Bedi for his role in Dhurandhar The Revenge. He said, “I don’t think he has gone, he’s just there. He would have been the happiest to see Rakesh Bedi today," pointing to the long standing friendship they shared. He further mentioned that Shah, Bedi and filmmaker David Dhawan were batchmates at the Film and Television Institute of India, building a relationship that extended across decades.
Rakesh Bedi’s performance as Jameel Jamali in Dhurandhar The Revenge has drawn attention, with audiences and industry members acknowledging his role in the film’s narrative. Co actors including Ranveer Singh and Arjun Rampal have also spoken about his work in the project.
Reflecting on Bedi’s journey, Rajesh recalled a metaphor the actor once used, describing himself as someone waiting patiently with an empty glass for the right moment. He quoted, “Aaj saare log khod khod ke nikaal rahe hain, ki oh acha yeh ismein bhi the," suggesting that audiences are now revisiting his earlier work.
Satish Shah and Rakesh Bedi had worked together in projects like Jaane Bhi Do Yaaro and Yeh Jo Hai Zindagi. Following Shah’s passing last year, Bedi had described him as a close friend beyond professional ties.
Directed by Aditya Dhar, the Dhurandhar films continue to perform strongly, with the sequel maintaining momentum at the box office.
