but Marathi meaning can also possible

but isnt Ashaji is much older as aditya's sis😕

come on now, you have been on IF long enough to understand , no matter how "old" they are you do not make them conscious by calling them anything other than "di"'s😉

As someone has already pointed out "tai" means elder sister in marathi. It is also widely used by people when they want to give respect to a lady no matter what age she may be........she could be younger to you or be your grandmom's age.I hope this clears the matter. 😊

In Kannada Tai means - MOTHER

N I believe in Marathi it is - ELDER SISTER...since mangeshkars are marathi... it means didi...

No woman likes to be called Aunty.. 😃 😃

let's see

Aditya Narayan is what like 18-20, Ashaji is 70-75, if Aditya calls Ashaji as Asha Tai

1. Is to to illustrate he has a relationship of family?

2. Is to to prove to her he is not interested in her in romantic ways😉

3. Is it to say well she is sister material?

4. To Hide his age?

😆😆

as to uncle, aunty, Bhaiya, etc, yes, I have been called by a bunch of members as uncle and have absolutely no problem with that😉
