Hi guys, I have to open a new thread for KIL as I was told there was too much chatting on the last one n less of the FF so here it is.

But I just want to share what my teacher wrote on my class nine report card. (yeah I keep my report card to remember the good times, I was intelligent then)

Sanam is an able student. She needs more practice in Mathematics for which she goes for extra help to her subject teacher. Her efforts in this direction should continue to be sincere. She sometimes becomes talkative and must curb this habit during classes.

So can you blame me, it's tough to teach an old dog new tricks. Am I chating again. Sorry sorry.

Part 64

Bani opened the door, jai stood there with his torn shirt, disheveled look, she thought his eyes were moist too, he stood there like a child who wanted the candy but knew couldn't have it, not yet, he had been naughty. Her heart went to him to see him like that. They stood there silently, eyes locked with each other. Though the radio was loud and raghav was blabbering all they cud hear was heartbeat.

Uncomfortable moments, electric tension, no one dared speak or dint want to, Jai wanted her to say something, his head was buzzing 'bani pls, pls say something, say you hate me but say something damn it"

Bani on the other hand was too overwhelmed, she looked at his disheveled state, he looked enticing, her body inflamed. Nothing unusual in that. it happened at the mere thought of him, not to mention what actually seeing him did, especially now, after so much that had happened. She cursed herself for being so much under his spell. She had to get her nerves under control which were fluttering maddeningly. She had to talk.

Bani pointing to the radio – What is all this….

Jai noticed her voice shook, she sounded uncertain, yeah he knew the feeling. He wanted to comfort her, but wasn't sure that was what she needed. Or if he could stop at that. He came to her, moving swiftly. Only one thought in his mind, he could not loose her, he needed her for his survival.

Jai – Bani will you marry me?

A simple question, or was it?

Bani,s zapped – Mr walia….

Jai – Bani will you marry me, NOW?

Bani – Mr Walia what are……

Jai impatient – bani just answer me, yes or no?

Bani simply – Yes

Now jai zapped – You will!!!!

Bani smiled slightly – should I say no?

Jai thrilled to bits – no no I mean god after wot I did, I did expect a no, bani common lets go, we'll get married in a temple right now.

Bani – Mr Walia I will marry you but not now, not like this. You can't make hasty decisions like this, we will marry when both of us are ready, not like this in compulsion.

She was so sensible, so matter of fact, so logical at times, it bemused him.

Jai – bani it's not under any compulsion, I love you and I want to marry you.

Bani – It won't be right. We have to think about others and not just ourselves. And don't you think we also need to talk.

Jai couldn't stand the despair in the slump of her shoulders. He lifted her into his arms and murmured "you are right darling, we need to talk"

She turned her face to him, questions in her beautiful eyes. He wondered how she seemed able to peer into his soul. He carried her to the sofa and put her down, made her sit. He slouched on the floor, holding her hands in her lap, their heads at level. Jai spoke softly.

Jai – Bani I am really sorry for…..

Bani simply – I could have slapped you when I saw you.

Jai was like "whoa the lady is blunt" he said instead – you sud have, but the kick was not bad either.

Bani – did it hurt?

Jai – yeah it did, still hurts. Its gonna be blue by tomorrow.

Bani – good I am glad. You deserve the hurt.

Jai thought "oh god she is after my heart, I love her so much"

Jai – yes bani I know I do, but you dint deserve it, wot I did was unacceptable. I was angry at myself.

Bani had the confused look, angry at himself, why?

Jai continued – agreed earlier I was angry at you for not accepting the gift. My huge ego cud not accept that n I got mad at you but then when we reached here and saw you all huddled up in a corner, fear in your eyes, looking so fragile, I wanted to take you in my arms and kiss you senseless, the only thought was to bring you up here and love you, rather ravish you. And I freaked, I thought oh god the control that I had over my emotions just goes out of the window as soon as I set eyes on you. All rational thinking stops there. Call it passion, call it love, call it need, call it wotever, takes over. A 23 year old girl comes into my life, and has control. Control over Jai Walia. Can you imagine what that did to me? For the past 16 yrs I have not let anyone break the barrier I made around myself. At that moment I was angry at myself for letting you do that. I lashed out on you, I hurt you in the only way I could. But all that I said to you was actually true for me.

She listened to him quietly; he was speaking the truth, which man would ever do that. Which man would come and tell his woman that he was sacred of the feeling she aroused in him. That he was insecure by those feelings. Only an honest man, a man with integrity.

Jai continued – Bani I can't promise you I will not be angry in the future, if I did then it wud be a blatant lie. You know how I am. But I will promise you one thing, I will try to control it, wotever it takes bani, if I hav to meditate or join yoga or go for Art of Living, wotever.

Bani – Mr Walia you don't have to do any of those things, I like you as you are.

Jai – you do?

Bani nodded shyly. He had been completely honest with her, now it was her turn. (main pagal ho jaoongi inki honesty se)

Bani – Mr Walia I am sorry too, I should have taken that gift in the first place. If I had known all this will happen coz of that then i…..

Jai cut her off – no Bani I realize now that wot you did was right, never let your pride or self respect go thinking of the consequences. Then that won't be my Bani. The Bani I love and respect.

Bani smiled – but you had bought it with so much love, I should have thought of that.

Jai gave her his most dazzling smile– don't worry darling, here take this.

He pulled out the jewelry box, it was similar to the previous one. (Well most of the jewelry boxes in India r red n square)

Bani was zapped, just now he was talking big bout not letting her pride go and now this. Did she understand the man, she was so confused, But she dare not refuse, she took it hesitantly.

Bani – you got it again, I…..I mean you found it…..

Jai pointed to the box with his head – go on open it sweetheart.

Bani opened it and was instantly amazed, she had the biggest smile on her face, ear to ear, she looked delightfully happy. Jai thought he would make re-cycled jewelry all his life to see that smile, that one look of ecstasy on her face. (walia empire mere naam kar dena boss)

Bani – omg omg this is so beautiful, she looked up at him, you made it?

Jai laughing – no I woke up the cobbler in the middle of the night. Of course I made it sweetheart, anything for you.

Bani – Jai this is the most awesome gift I have ever received, the most precious. I will keep this all my life, guard it with my life.

Jai – sweetheart it is not more precious than you.

They both looked at each other, eye lock.

Bani softly – can I kiss you?

It put a knife in his heart, yes she was unsure of herself now, he had chipped her confidence somewhere and she was not like "yeah let's make up with a kiss" kinda girl. He got up and sat next to her, took her in his arms.

Jai – bani do you need to ask that, do I still need to prove what you are to me, how much you mean to me..

Then he took her lips in a very soft kiss, just touching it lightly with his own lips. She kissed him back then. They hugged each other, with lots of kisses following that first one, tender, soft, light kisses. It was not about passion or want, it was bout love, trust, care and togetherness. It was bout reunion of two souls.

Later he was just lying on the couch, she had her head on his chest, his arms wrapped around her. Both lost in feeling each other. Both hearts beating as one.

Jai – Bani….

Bani – mmmmmmm

Jai – look at me.

Bani lifted her and rested her chin on his chest.

Jai – happy?

Bani nodded.

Jai – am I completely forgiven?

Bani again nodded.

Jai – thank you. I will sleep well now. I was worried that you won't.

Bani – humko malum hai ishq masoom hai, dile se ho jati hai galtiyan.

Sabr se ishq meroom hai.

Jai laughed – now I know there is nothing to worry. Bani I think I should leave now, its getting late.

They both got up, jai moved towards the door.

Bani stammered – I want you …..to stay.

The words were spoken so softly he barely heard them. Two simple words, but it meant so much, he looked at her she was ready to surrender everything now, all that she had, her love, her trust, and her complete being to the man she loved, totally completely.

Jai looked at her intensely – I cant….. I can't make promises for being rational if I do.

Bani – stay.

The word was a plea. He closed his eyes and tried to think of noble things, honor and all that. It didn't work. He took a step forward with a groan, into her arms. He opened his eyes as she slipped both hands around his waist and leaned her head against his chest. She moved her hands up and down his back under his shirt.

Jai huskily – I can't promise anything platonic if you keep that up.

Her hands went to the few buttons he had on the shirt. Her hands trembled.

Jai – let me.

His voice deeper as need overrode scruples and all that baggage. She dropped her hands to her sides, inviting him to finish the task, he was glad she was looking at him and could not see how his fingers shook as he undid the buttons.

She lifted her arms to him. It was more than a mortal man could resist, and he had never claimed to be a saint. He stepped forward and felt her heat all along his body.

Jai kissing her neck– you're beautiful, so beautiful, it takes my breath away.

Bani – that was a song.

She pressed her lips to his neck and causing lightning to flash into every part of him.

Jai ran a fingertip from her forehead, over her nose, down till her stomach – you are the most incredibly stunning woman I've ever seen.

She pressed fervent kisses on his throat and chest. Her incoherent thoughts flew to her tongue – you make me feel that way. Beautiful. Sexy. Hot. Cold. Frightened.

He tipped her chin up with a hooked finger said fiercely– you don't ever have to be afraid of me, don't you know I'd do anything to keep you happy, and will never hurt you again.

He said this feeling humble and courageous at the same time. He knew he had hurt her but now no more. He looked at her, her pupils were dilated with passion and her eyes gleamed in the dim light from the lamp. A flush spread upward from her throat to her cheeks. She stirred too many things in him, this woman with her stubborn independence, her pride and her honesty. He wanted to show her more than pleasure. He wanted….too many things. He couldn't begin to enumerate them.

Jai – will you have regrets in the morning?

Bani kissed his collarbone – I don't know. I guess we won't know until the morning, will we, and by then it won't matter.

A shudder went through him, he gathered her again into his arms, her lips quivered under his as he touched them, then her arms slipped around his shoulders as she arched against him.

The last of his principles fell away. Her touch ignited a need that wouldn't, couldn't be denied. Reasoning didn't enter into the equation.

He fell on the sofa, taking her weight as she came down with him. But it was not big enough for a man his size, he rolled over on the floor, slipped a hand under her hair and held her head in position to deepen the kiss. For a long time he only kissed and caressed lightly along her back. He had never known passion could be so totally engrossing. The world narrowed to this room, to her, and the places where he caressed. Bani closed her eyes. Bright veils of light flashed through her mental vision like magical draperies controlled by a genie.

Part 65

Jai ordered – ignore it damn it.

Bani – it could be important, it's late in the night, omg Rano.

Jai and bani had completely forgotten bout Rano she could be here any moment.

Bani went n took the call. Jai sat up reclining on the sofa, trying to get his breathing to normal. Listening to the conversation, he cud make out it was Rano. Bani returned.

Bani still a bit shaken – uhh… it…it … was….it was Rano.

Jai – Yeah..

Bani – she… she… will be….here in 10 minutes.

Jai – yeah..

Bani very uncomfortable – I'll…..I'll….mmm get u some water.

Jai smiled – get me a bottle.

Bani dashed to the kitchen. She stood by the sink thinking, holding her stomach " o god wot was I doing, wot if Rano had walked in,wot wud she think. I am supposed to set an example for her. Omg I asked him to stay, wot will he think, wot kind of girl am I. This is not the way I was bought up. This is not the values I got from my mother. This is not our tradition. O god wot do I do now?" all sorts of thought that a girl wud have was running in her mind. She felt ashamed, tears burned her eyes.

Jai called out – Baniii

Bani gulping down the tears – yeah yeah I am coming.

She took out a bottle of water from the fridge n went to him, sat down on the sofa beside him.

Bani gave him the bottle, he drank thirstily.

Bani – Mr Walia I am sorry….

Jai turned his head up to her – Bani stop apologizing for something that was not your fault. It was quite mutual. More mine coz I sud know better.

Bani on the verge of tears – but I was the one who stopped you….oh god wot if rano had come.

Tenderness, the strange, confusing tenderness that only she had ever aroused, surged through him. One thing was true. He wud do anything to keep her happy. No one wud hurt her, not while there was life in his body.

Jai got up n sat next to her holding her – Bani bani I know wot you are thinking, but darling don't do this to yourself, don't persecute yourself. I know all this was a mistake…..

Bani very mater of fact tone – I can't keep my hands off you, I forget everything.

That made jai laugh.

Jai laughing – bani I don't want to keep my hands off you so don't worry we are in the same boat, we'll think of something.

His laughter warmed her all the way through. She smiled at his humor, knowing he was giving her time to become comfortable.

Bani smiled – I think we sud not meet like this, u sud not come here. We sud meet with people around us.

Jai – ya I think so too, you are too hazardous for my heart.

Bani – I am serious.

Jai laughed – I was serious too when I had asked to be just friends.

Bani – well you cud not keep your promise but I can. Do you want me to promise that I will not meet you like this?

Jai folded his hands – nahi meri amma I don't want you to promise any such thing. I'll go n talk to masi n ask her to fix a date as soon as possible. Theek hai

Bani smiled and nodded. Jai pulled her nose with a "badi jaldi hai shadi ki hhmmm kya baat hai"

Bani shyly – aapko nahin hai.

Jai comin close to her – main to aaj abhi shadi ke liye tayaar hoon, tumne mana kiya.

Bani laughing n pushing him away – now you go b4 Rano comes.

Jai also laughed – yes and b4 we r back on the floor n get caught.

Bani blushed.

Jai – she most probably wud have killed me. She is always after me. She is my nemesis.

Bani – she likes you.

Jai – hhhmmm I like her too, she is a nice kid.

Bani laughed – Kid? U r going to marry her sister n I am just 2 yrs older to her.

Jai teasing – ab us mein meri kya galti hai, u r a kid too but u enticed me. You fell in love with me n I just cud not see u suffer.

Bani – you are so conceited. But I love you.

Jai took her in a hug – I love you too, n now I must leave b4 that sister of yours comes.

Jai gets up too go.

Bani – Mr Walia how can you go like this.

Jai zapped – bani don't start it all over again.

Bani going red to her toes – I mean look at you, you can't go with a torn shirt.

Jai looking down at his shirt, pulling it together a bit – it's ok bani, ghar hi to jana hai and its late sab so rahe honge. Main chala jaoonga.

Bani – no wait, there will be those gfn boys down there n they love to gossip. And chotu the lift man….

Jai – oh ya don't remind me, he even warned me.

Jai tells her, they both laugh

Bani – he is crazy, I shouted at him one day, he always leaves the door to the lift open n plays around when I am getting late for office. You know how my boss is, he bites my head off if I am late.

Jai nuzzling her neck – I am sure your boss is in love with you n wants to see you in the office when he is there.

Bani laughing – I think so to, but he is a workaholic, he comes b4 time, how can he expect me so early?

Jai – don't worry darling, now that he is having late nights or sleepless nights, he will be late too. And now b4 it gets more late wot do we do about my shirt.

Bani thinking – Rishi is also not there, I wud hav got u his shirt. Ok give me your shirt, I'll try n find the buttons and put them on it.

Jai flirting – you always want my shirt off don't you, r u sure u will be able to handle me without a shirt.

But he took it off n gave it to her. bani just pulled her tongue at him and started going towards the bedroom.

Jai called bac – u want me to come darling, help u look for the buttons.

Bani turned – you just stay there Jai walia.

Jai laughed – ya see I knew I am too hot to handle.

Bani ignored him n went in, jai laughed a full throated rich laugh, he stood there drinking from the bottle.

Rano came in using her keys, she had her back to jai while locking the door, jai cursed in a low voice, he was standing in the middle of the living room without a shirt.

Rano – di I am back n I will never go out with rishi again he is so……….she had turned n seen Jai….Wot the hell r YOU doing here like this.

B4 jai cud say anything rano was at him

Rano shaking a finger at him – Jai Walia wot hav u done.

Jai calmly – nothing as yet.

Rano screaming – Jai Walia don't even think bout it, I will kill you with my own bare hands.

Jai rolled his eyes impishly - these days all I think is that

Bani came out with his shirt – Rano relax his shirt was torn, I just took it to stitch.

Jai wickedly – btw Rano…..

Rano – shut up you are so disgusting.

Jai – let's say I am a red blooded man.

Bani's eyes were still all red n swollen from all that crying, rano noticed this.

Rano – di why r your eyes so red, hav you been crying, she held Jai's shirt who was trying to put it on n shook him, did you make my Di cry.

Jai took off his shirt, crumpled it in his hands n threw it on the floor.

Jai – hato yaar main shirt hi nahin pehnta, dono behene mere shirt ke peeche padi hai. I will go home like this.

Bani went hysterical, she picked up his shirt n gave it to him, rano stood there zapped.

Bani laughing –Mr Walia common don't behave like a kid, here wear it and Rano don't worry, we had a fight and I tore his shirt.

Rano – you did?

Jai complaining – and she even tore my poster.

Rano – I am sure you deserved it. Wot did you do Jai?

Bani teasing – sud I tell her wot you did.

Jai pleading – no bani no please.

Rano curious – Di now you have to tell me common di.

Bani told rano bout her not accepting the gift and jai getting angry for it, she skipped the details bout wot Jai had said n done, she told bout how Jai apologized with the jewelry and the request.

Rano pulling his cheeks – wow Jai I am impressed. Wot a way to make up. I wud not expect so much mushiness from you. You sure r a surprise a minute. I wish some other guys were like you.

Jai blushed – well Rano its nothing like that, she was really very angry n I had to make up, I hurt her.

He looked at bani n they both got lost in each other. Rano coughed.

Rano – can we have you both back?

They stood there chatting when rano noticed the bruise on Bani's neck.

Rano – Di wot happened to ur neck.

Jai n bani exchanged looks. B4 jai cud say anything

Bani – ah rano I think it is an insect bite.

Rano is smart she dint buy that.

Rano teased – Di does that insect have initials JW.

Jai coughed on the water he was drinking. Rano burst out laughing.

Jai – Bani I think she just called me an insect. I am not gonna leave your sister.

Rano went behind Bani – Jai at 36 u still don't know how to kiss a lady, you gotta learn boy.

Jai trying to pull her out – oh ya you gonna teach me, common let's see….

Rano – y sud I, u already hav a target, practice there.

Bani pushed them both – stop it both of you.

Jai – why don't you tell your sister, she is the one putting wrong ideas in my head?

Rano – no one has to put them Jai, you already have them. She imitated him 'red blooded man'

Jai – God look who's talking. Both you sisters r as bad. I am gonna get out of this asylum.

Rano – Jai we are the innocent angels. Now go and talk to Rishi.

Jai groaned – now where did rishi come in between kissing lessons.

Rano – shut up Jai get your mind away from it for a lil while. Rishi is upset over something and won't talk to us, maybe he will talk to you.

Bani also had a pleading look.

Jai –I spend an eventful evening with my girlfriend and now u want me to go talk to some sulking majnu.

Rano – common Jai cant you do that much for me.

Jai – tumhe badi chinta hai Rishi ki hhhmmm kya baat hai Rano?

Rano – he is a good friend Jai.

Jai – wot bout me am I not a good friend, why you sending me there at this time when I am so tired?

Rano – Di please tell him.

Bani – Mr walia please and she pushed him towards the door.

Jai - haan haan ja raha hoon, god you girls are just slave drivers.

Bani – come back and tell us wot he said.

Jai quietly in her ears – of course sweat heart I'll be back, can't leave without saying good night to you.

Rano shouted – go on lover boy.

Jai threw the bottle at her and left.

Jai rang the bell.

Rishi – leave me alone Rano just go.

Jai – Rishi it's me Jai n u better open up or I break the damn door.

Rishi grumbled 'that was all I needed' but opened the door.

Jai laughed at his disheveled condition.

Jai – ye kya haal bana rakha hai, kuch lete kyon nahin?

Rishi – common in jai. so wot brings the great JW to my house at this hour?

Jai – your friends. Or sud I just say Rano. He laughed

Rishi irritated – Jai I don't find it funny.

Jai calmly – Rishi neither do I, I am very tired I want to go and sleep.

Rishi - so why don't you do that?

Jai annoyed – cut the crap rishi, bahut ho gaya. Sab pareshan hai tumhare liye and all you can think is bout yourself.

Rishi felt guilty – I am sorry jai, main bas……acha bolo kya loge?

Jai – that's better, whiskey hai?

Rishi nods, he goes and makes the drinks.

Jai – I don't think you sud be drinking.

Rishi – I need it.

Jai – common Talk.

Rishi – Jai your shirt…..

Jai cut him off pointing a finger at him – not a word, not a word on my shirt, I've had enough, I am gonna frame this shirt n put it in my room. It has become 'talk of the town'.

Rishi taken aback – chill Jai why r u getting so emotional, I was just gonna say u hav different color buttons on your shirt.

Jai – can we please talk bout you n not bout my buttons?

Rishi – wot bout me, I am fine just one of those lousy days.

Jai – ok let's start with, why did you go to Delhi all of a sudden?

Rishi looked at jai, he had a determined look, he was not going till he knew and Rishi wanted to talk to him. He knew he cud trust jai.

Rishi in a low voice – I broke of my engagement to aiyesha.

Jai had no expression, he was not surprised. Rishi was puzzled.

Jai – was she very upset?

Rishi – actually no, when I went to meet her to tell her bout it, she was the one who told me that she dint want to continue this relationship, this so called relationship.

Jai was surprised now – oh so it was she who broke it. Is that why you are so upset?

Rishi – well it was mutual, look Jai ours was a arranged thing and we both were happy at that time, but then she met someone and she fell in love with the guy. I don't blame her coz we hardly ever met or talked. We were strangers to each other. I was actually very relieved when she said she wanted it to end. We parted as friends.

Jai nodded –Whatever happened is for the best. No use dragging a relationship when nothing exists. So then why are you so upset?

Rishi kept looking at Jai quietly.

Jai just said– Rano right?

Rishi got up frustrated – u gone crazy jai? Where did Rano come into this?

Jai also getting angry – No Rishi u gone crazy, you love Rano, agar main galat bol raha hoon to bol de, say that you don't love her?

Rishi hit the table with his fist.

Jai – common rishi say you don't love her.

Rishi in a tortured voice – it's wrong, I can't, I mean….. I shouldn't, its all wrong.

Jai calmly – so you are accepting that you love her.

Rishi – Yes Jai yes, but don't you see……I have always treated Bani as my sister. Always been like a bro to her.

Jai – But she is not or rather they are not your sisters, you are not related also in any way damn it.

Rishi ran his hands thru his hair frustrated.

Jai – rishi dekh I understand what you are saying, you always treated bani as your sister, then he smiled, and it sud always remain like that, that bought a slight smile to rishi's face Jai was taking care of his interest, but Rano you hardly knew, she was always away in Pune. And when you met her your feelings for her were different. It's ok. Nothing wrong in that.

Rishi still not convinced – Is it? I mean wot will bani say, oh god she will most probably kill me.

Jai – aisa kuch nahin hoga. Look at it like this, I love Bani, I am going to marry her, but it does not mean Rano will also be……

Rishi stiffened – she better not….

Jai laughed – oh ho all possessive haan mere majnu. I am just giving a hypothetical example.

Rishi blushing a bit – well…..

Jai - Are Rano is like a kid for me, she is the same age as Anu, not that I will ever be an uncle to her, she will kill me even if I said that, I'll always be her jijju, I'll always be protective towards her as an older brother. So what I am saying is these relationships are complicated. You cannot define them into one bracket. Now who wud have thought I wud fall in love with someone so much younger to me but I did and in the beginning I too protested but then I had to give in to my feelings, I had no choice, I just cud not help it.

Rishi – oh yeah we all can see that. I am witness to it all.

Jai – ya you've been a pain. But now I will be a pain to you n rano, you just wait n watch buddy.

Rishi unhappily– you will be a pain if that happens.

Jai biting her ears – baby I'll be the boss outside this room, u be the boss in here.

He turned her around, looking into her eyes, his own dark with passion.

Jai demanded – now kiss me.

Bani – No, let me go, else I'll hit you.

Jai – don't think, just do it, coz you really make up well after that.

The events of last evening played like a movie clip in her mind, she had asked him to stay..……… she wanted to hide in a hole.

Bani – how cud you say that, can you not think of anything else?

Jai his voice heavy – right now all I can think of is having you in my bed.

Bani's stifled gasp and reproving frown didn't do a thing to quell the hunger that surged through him. She cud feel his muscle twitching under her hand, he was trying to control himself from pulling her much closer, he bought his face closer 'what do you think'

Bani – you are disgusting now let me go Mr Walia. Someone might come.

Jai locked the door – here, is this ok, no one can come now.

Bani was completely shocked - have you completely lost it. You are making it worse; this is an office Mr Walia.

Jai murmurred – Wud you rather we go some where else? Where we could be alone?

Bani pushed at him and looked at him angrily with 'this is insanity, you have gone mad'.

Jai getting irritated – I am not asking you to make love to me, just asking for a good-morning kiss from my fiance, don't I deserve that much.

Bani annoyed – you make me sick, let me go.

Jai pushed her, opened the door – you are just acting hard to get, fine go and don't come back.

Bani walked out n went to her desk, jai slammed the door. Then it all started, whoever came got blasted. First it was Suzy, Bani heard Jai shouting at her. As Suzy came out

Bani – I am sorry about that, he does seem in a bad mood today.

Suzy – nothing new, don't worry we are used to it, he can have good days too n then he is all charming.

Bani was like 'oh ya tell me about it, he can charm a snake'; yes he was charming when he wanted to be.

Then it was Sahil, Ranbeer n the rest of the employees, all getting the first class khadoos treatment from Jai. Bani got irritated, she knew why he was in a bad mood, oh yeah she did n she was gonna get his head in its right place. She called Suzy.

Bani – Suzy Mr Walia does not want to be disturbed, so no calls n no visitors.

Suzy – ok, who wud want to visit him anyways given the mood he is in.

Bani – yeah right, thanks Suzy.

She opened the door and saw jai staring at her with a pen just dangling in his hand; well he must have been staring at the door now it was her. She closed the door n walked in, up to his desk, not taking her gaze off him. They stared at each other. Jai sat in his black leather chair like a lord.

Bani categorically – what's wrong with you?

Jai sulking – what's wrong with me?

Bani – don't answer a question with a question.

Jai – I don't know what you are getting at?

Bani – oh you darn well know, you are throwing a tantrum, shouting at every one who is coming here.

Jai pointing to the door with his pen – They can't do their work then of course I'll shout and it's not a tantrum as u put it.

Bani – oh no, THEY are doing there work, it's YOU who is not doing any thing, just sitting here dwindling your thumb, have you read the file Suzy brought. I need to take it to the other directors for signature.

Jai irritated at her guts – stop accusing me, why do I get the feeling I am not the boss here?

Bani – Mr Walia if you keep behaving like this I am resigning.

Jai threw the pen he was holding on his table n got up – don't threaten me damn it.

Bani – I am not threatening, just because u dint get a kiss…….

Jai – It's not about that I don't like………..

Bani – oh right it's not bout a kiss, we are back to square one, no one say NO to Jai Walia. Right?

That hit him in the gut.

Bani continued – nothing has changed right, you can't take a no, But Jai Walia from now on you will only get a no for everything till you learn to accept it. I will not be your plaything, to be used as and when you want.

Jai raging – I use you like a plaything, god damn you, and what about you……….

Jai had a sudden anger rising in him, how could she say that, but then it went as quickly as it came, he realized they were again clashing ego's, again trying to hurt each other by words, he calmed down., came to her.

Jai – Bani Bani listen to me, lets not talk like this, we will end up just hurting each other. Look I can't change in one day, I am trying, dheere dheere apne gusse ko control kar loonga. He smiled, his voice becoming soft, Dheere dheere na sunna bhi seekh loonga, give me some time.

He was the charmer now and she cud not resist his charisma. He was like a magnet and she felt attracted to his allure. She kept looking at him, waiting.

Jai – all right I am sorry I am behaving like a pig. But then Bani that is what you do to me. My heart does a summersault as I see you, look.

He took her hand and put it on his chest, well it was beating a lil erratically. Bani had a little smile playing on her lips. He let her hand go.

Jai – I get hit in the gut by a missile, my stomach goes all jitterbugs……..

Bani started laughing – ok stop there, lets not go below that.

Jai took her in a hug laughing – you are a devil and I love you, now can I get that kiss.

Bani punched him in the stomach – no you can't.

She moved away from him, he let her.

Jai sulking - Can't take this 'can look, but not touch" attitude anymore, it's gonna kill me.

Bani – stop behaving like a kid. Stop sulking.

Jai – I am behaving like a man, just a lovesick man who is not entitled to a kiss…….

Bani shook her head smiling – Mr Walia get some work done, you have a meeting with the TISCO chairman in 30 minutes.

Jai groaned putting his hand on his forehead – Sh*t I forgot bout that completely, you make me forget, can't get a thing done today.

Bani seductively – Don't worry I am here, I'll remind you of everything.

And she winked at him, which was a mistake, Jai closed up on her like a panther, her heart went into over-drive as his hands closed on her shoulders, his mouth claimed hers in a kiss that was gentle but hinted at passion kept on a tight leash.

Later Jai left for the meeting, telling her to go home n not wait as he wud be late, he wud see her in the evening.

But till late evening there was no sign, not even a call from JW. She paced the house restless, and then she cleaned the whole house, an odd thing especially since housework wasn't high on her priorities. (She is like me then) Rano tried to stifle her giggles but in the end failed and burst out laughing.

Rano – Di stop it, he must be busy.

Bani angry – even for a call………..anyways who's bothered he can go to hell as far as I am concerned.

Rano looked towards the door – Now Look who's here.

Bani came running out of the kitchen to find rishi.

Bani disappointed – oh it's just you?

Rano burst out laughing again n bani gave a dirty look.

Rishi grinned – Now that is the best welcome I got in years, wossup, waiting for someone?

Rano – Rishi don't, she will eat you alive.

Bani irritated – get out both of you and leave me alone.

Rano – yep Rishi lets go to your place, I need help with management accounting, as it is her hyper behavior is distracting me.

Rano n Rishi leave, bani goes back to cleaning when the bell Rang, she opened the door, it was the delivery boy from Chocossieur, he handed her a packet, all gift wrapped. She opened it and there was a bottle of coffee with a note in his bold handwriting saying "just to keep you awake, till I am with you' and a bar of 'Arabian delight' with a note saying 'tingle your taste buds till I kiss you again'. She cud feel herself blushing to her toes.

Later there was another gift, it was a white chiffon sari, the note read ' I know you don't want gifts from me, Please find the bill attached, I will get myself reimbursed from your salary. I want to see you in this tomorrow, and that is an order from your Boss." It was signed 'Khadoos.'

He did not come; she waited till midnight, drinking coffee, finished the chocolates, when he finally called. She took the call but did not talk.

Jai – hi baby.

No reply.

Jai – sorry I got held up, had to take them for dinner n the batteries of my phone died on me.

Jai – sweetheart talk to me, take my fatigue away. I am very tired.

Jai – fine if you wont talk then I am coming there.

Bani quickly – No Mr Walia, its very late n you are tired, u shouldn't drive.

His chest did the usual funny little pang under the breast bone as usual, whenever he heard her silky voice.

Jai – I knew you wud stop me, you care too much for me.

Bani – And you take advantage of that.

Jai – Bani did you get the sari?

Bani laughed – yes I got the chocolates also which I finished waiting for you. And I had at least six cups of coffee.

Jai – sorry babes I just couldn't get away, but you know how much I want to see you and now I just want to see you in that sari.

Bani – I'll wear it tomorrow, but I am not getting anything cut from my salary, she giggled.

Jai sweetly – fine I'll take my payment in kind then.

Bani – we'll see. What time will u be here?

Jai – around seven?

Bani laughed – Mr Walia why so early. Who plays holi at seven. Come around 9/10

Jai – let's make it eight, can't wait longer.

They keep talking, bani asks if there will be lot of people n he told her the office staff and few friends etc.

Bani – have u told Tarun n Maya

Jai – nah I don't want Tarun

Bani – but Mr Walia it does not look good, think bout Maya.

Jai feeling anger – but Tarun…….

Bani – look its late call them now, they r in Pune, obviously they wont be able to come but you wud have done your part.

Jai smiled – you are so sensible.

Bani – yes and now the sensible thing to do is sleep, good night.

Next morning Jai was at their door at 7.30.

Next morning Jai was at their door at 7.30.

Jai rang the bell, Rano opened n saw him, just walked off, Jai kept calling but she went in her room n banged the door. Jai smiled at the childish display of anger, he felt his pockets, the gulal (color) that Anu had given him just before he left was there. He wud get rano, it was holi she couldn't be angry for long. He walked in and shut the door, when he turned back he saw Bani, standing outside her room demurely, both stared at each other, eye lock, Jai actually skipped few beats, choked to see Bani in the white sari, she looked angelic, untouched, so delicate. He moved towards her in slow motion.

Bani watched him, he looked gorgeous in his well starched crisp white kurta pajama, well he looked gorgeous in whatever he wore, even in a torn shirt or a towel he looked striking. She blushed at her thoughts. Jai reached her.

Jai breathing out finally smiled – Hi beautiful.

Bani's heart melted at his smile and the warmth in his eyes.

Bani smiled shakily – Hi Mr Walia, you look good.

Jai his voice going thick with longing – Can I touch you.

Bani confused – what?

Jai – will you break into pieces if I did? You look so fragile.

She sort of dived into his arms, eager for his touch and the fire of his kiss, she wasn't disappointed. His mouth closed over hers with hungry tenderness she'd come to expect from him. His lips were warm and supple on hers. The kiss was tender as well as passionate. It lasted a long time. They had to come up for air.

Bani – we…we have to go.

Jai – I'd rather stay here.

Bani – Mr Walia….

Jai groaned – ok ok we'll go but first……..

He took out the packet of gulal, poured some on his palm, then with his other hand put some on both her cheeks with "Happy Holi Darling" and then in an instinctive reaction turned his palm upside-down on her head, right in the middle where her parting was. Bani took her hands to her parting n touched it with her fingers, then saw the color it was red.

Bani shuddered – Mr Walia ye apne kya kiya?

Jai himself was stunned at what he had done, it had been impulsive, he had not stopped to think. He was besieged by emotions.

Jai – Bani I myself don't know, when I saw the red gulal n then you, all I wanted was to see how you would look as my bride. My wife. You make me do crazy things.

Bani – But Mr Walia……

He took her face in his palms, bent down bringing his face level with hers and spoke softly, huskily.

Jai – Bani when I was coming here Anu gave me the gulal and said I should be the first one to put color on you. Bani I had Goosebumps believe me, I can't explain what I felt. I had such strong feelings in me. It scares to me to death. Now I feel responsible for you. It was a simple statement for her in context of holi, but for me it meant more, it meant the world. I know I am the first man you have ever loved and I want it to stay like that. I want to make you mine, protect you, love you and cherish you. I love you like hell and it scares me to death when I think of loosing you.

Bani touched his cheeks lightly – Mr Walia, I am yours, only yours and nothing in this world can change that. You have nothing to fear.

There was so much sincere passion, so much intensity in her voice, in her eyes, he wanted to crush her to him, he took her in a hug, they stood there with her head lightly resting on his chest, wanted to be like that forever. Bani moved back.

Bani – Mr Walia I will have to clean this, I can't go with you like this, I mean masi n dadi……the others….

Jai – yes Bani I understand, just a sec….

He took out his phone and captured her in it.

Jai smiled - now you can go, not that I needed this, you are in my heart I just need to close my eyes to see you, this is for you, if you ever try to run, I can prove you are my wife.

Bani smiled back – I am not going anywhere Mr Walia and she went.

Jai called her, she looked back – Bani, put lot of lotion on your hands and face so that no color stays on you. Tumpe sirf mera rang hona chahiye, mere pyar ka raang.

She was smiling as she washed her hair in the sink, she could hear him singing outside.

Rano came out her room, dressed in a cream salwar kurta.

Jai – hi grumpy

Rano – shut up.

Jai – tsk tsk is that the way to greet your jijju on holi?

Rano –you r not my jijju as yet, where is Di?

Jai shrugged – believe me I am and I don't know where your di is.

Rano – then who were you singing to?

Jai – I am trying to call her.

Rano looked at him from top to bottom – BTW you look like Snow white.

Jai groaned thinking 'Rishi do you have any idea wot u getting into, I really pity u'

Rano wanted to burst out thinking wot he wud be looking like in a little while, 'Rishi you better do a good job else you r dead'

Jai – thanks rano you r so generous with your compliments.

Rano – Jai when you came u dint have any color on you, now where did that red on your kurta come from, now wot have u done, where is Di?

Jai – Rano why do I get the feeling that I am in a court or police station always being interrogated by you? Your Di is not a kid, she can take care of herself.

Rano – oh yeah with you around, I think you both looses it when together I have to keep a check on both of you.

Jai taking out the gulal – oh shut up n come here.

She didn't move, he moved toward her dancing a bit n singing 'do me a favor, let's play holi, rangon main hai pyaar ki boli'

Rano giggled seeing him dance like that, sang - ho mere pichhe pichhe pichhe kyon aaye
mera jiya jiya kyon dhadkaaye, jaa re jaa don't

She stopped as the next words were 'touch my choli'

Jai burst out laughing - y did u stop continue please.

Rano - hai bahana holi ka, paas aana chahe tu
chaand se mere chehre pe ,rang lagana chahe tu, ohhh holi hai aani jaani,
tere dil mein hai beimaani, main nahi hu itni bholi uuf ye holi hai ye holi….

They both laughed, he put some color on both her cheeks n hugged her with a "happy holi kiddo'

Jai – common now it's your turn, giving her the color.

Rano walked off with 'nah I don't play holi' she was giggling inside.

Jai – hey common neither do I, just do a tika to me.

Rano was thinking 'oh yeah I will do the Tika properly jai don't worry"

Bani came out her hair all wet.

Rano – Di r u crazy, u had a bath b4 playing holi…..no wait you were ready b4 Jai came……what happened?

Jai and bani looked at each other. Bani blushed a little. Rano watched them, shook her head.

Rano making a disgusting face – I don't wanna know, you both are impossible, Pata nahin kya karte rehte ho. Now let's go.

Jai – don't worry your time will also come.

She gave him a dirty look but she was to exited to retort back, Jai thougt he had won at least one battle. They locked the door n went down, as they were getting out of the building Rano pulled Bani back, jai dint notice, kept walking, suddenly he was drenched, drenched to the core, from head to foot.

Jai just looked down at himself shocked – what the hell…..what the BLOODY hell is this……..

He looked up from where the water had fallen, no it wasn't just water, it was absolutely dark yellow and was little sticky, Rishi stood on the first floor with a bucket in hand, jiving n singing.

Rishi – guess whose back, I'm back, I'm back, that's why they call me Slim Shady I'm Back, I'm Back.

Jai was screaming at him wiping his face n head at the same time – yeah I can see that, god I sud have left you in your majnu land if this is wot I get….. bloody hell

Rishi came running down, went to jai laughing his head off, rano had her hands on her mouth trying to smother her laugh, Bani n Jai stood there still dazed, jai trying to shake the water or wotever it was, off.

Jai hissed to Rishi – should I tell them bout your little secret….

Rishi put his arms round jai then pulled it back with an "eeewwww' laughing – Jai Jai its not my fault, it was Rano's plan, I just couldn't say no to her buddy, you know how it is?

Jai looked at Rano n Bani, they both were laughing now, had come little closer but Rano was behind bani holding her.

Enter chotu, the lift man with a sheet in his hands. (Imagine chotu as rajpal yadav in Waqt, absolutely serious, expressionless)

Chotu to Jai – saab Chadar.

Jai still zapped – wot? I mean kya hai?

Chotu – saab chadar.

Jai confused, frustrated – haan mughe dikh raha hai, chadar hai, magar kya karoon iska, ise pehen ke ghar jaoon?

Chotu serious face – nahin aap ise pehnege to gadi kaise chalyenge?

Bani and rano doubled up holding their stomach, Rishi cud not stand he sat down on the floor laughing.

Jai sarcastically – exactly my point, main bhi yehi sonc raha tha ki chadar pehan ke gadi kaise chalaoonga.

Chotu stood there looking at jai as if jai was the fool, Jai looked at Rishi

Jai – rishi wot does he want?

Rishi cud not talk, laughed more at jai's n chotu's bewildered expression, of course for different reason, he just shook his hand and head

Jai to chotu frustrated – kya karoon iska.

Chotu mater of fact as if Jai was asking the most stupid question – Saab seat pe dalna, daag nahin lage ga, haldi hai na, iska daag nahin jata.

Jai was, now what can I say u guys imagine his face yourself.

Jai screamed – haldi…….haldi……….u mean turmeric………oh god…oh god, this wont even come off…….

He looked at them one by one, they all nodded their head laughing. Only chotu was standing seriously with the sheet in his hand.

Rano laughing still hiding behind bani – 2kgs jai, just 2 kgs of pure turmeric, good for your skin jai.. She teased him, 'Do me a favor, let's play holi, rango mein hai pyaar ki boli'. Happy Holi jai JIJJU.

Jai stood there all yellow, looking down himself, didn't know if he should laugh or cry.

Rano teased him further – aaaawwww my poor snow white has turned into a yellow pumpkin.

Bani – Rano stop it, he'll kill you.

Jai – exactly Bani I am gonna kill her and you not stopping me this time.

Rano had already started running, with jai chasing her. She kept singing.
