Actually, Ananya might be the only one who might actually have a breakthrough at some point. (according to me)

She was good in Gehrariyan, and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. (I watched it recently and I was pleasantly surprised. It´s a perfect film reflecting the lives of GenZ)

She does well in urban girl roles. Her dialogue delivery is better than Sara, Jhanvi, Khushi and Suhana and she looks good on camera.

She is actually the one at lowest position in the Nepo hierarchy. I do not think SRK is bankrolling Ananya's career. Yes, she and her parents are close to SRK's family but that's just about it.

Her film choices are not well-curated, unlike Alia or Jhanvi or Sara. Hence, I have a feeling she might leapfrog her other nepo-sisters at some point, because she will focus on improving her craft.

The problem is with her off-screen personality. She is young and not very articulate and ends up making a fool of herself whenever she speaks publicly. If I was her friend, I would advice her to stay away from Social Media and giving interviewssmiley36. She is a soft target.

I've only seen Jahnvi, Khushi, and Suhana. Never seen Sara or Ananya so no idea what they are like as actresses outside of interviews and cameo appearances. So I can't say about Ananya except that I haven't been impressed by her offscreen persona at all along with all the Internet gossip and rumors about her being a terrible person, a bully and stealing boyfriend after boyfriend to increase in status.

What I read online on Reddit is that when SRK came into the industry and was struggling, it was Chunky Panday who gave him money to help him out in need. SRK never forgot this and repays it now by financially bankrolling Ananya's career since her father is not a big star. Apparently her tuitions to school were paid by SRK and at certain events where all the starkids go to, they require an invite and money but Chunky was not a big enough star to get an invite so SRK got it for her. This is why she grew up with SRK's kids.

Yes, I am aware that Ananya's family is very close to SRK and she practically grew up under SRK's shadow. Kudos to SRK for helping her with education.

But what I meant earlier is that SRK doesn't even need to "bankroll" her career.

Not saying that she is not privileged. She was launched by Dharma afteralll. But none of her films so far has been from SRK's production company. All of them have been either Dharma, Balaji or T-series.

I would recommend watching Kho Gaye Hum Kahan. The film got great positive reviews.

If not for Ananya, watch if for Zoya Akhtar.

I just found out that she wasn’t even nominated for it. Imagine a Alia or a Jhanvi merely appearing in such a movie, let alone delivering a pathbreaking performance like that of Urmila’s.

2003 was Urmila's best year. She had three stellar performances in Bhoot, Pinjar, and Tehzeeb. She got the Filmfare Best Actress and Best Actress Critics nominations, both for Bhoot. I definitely feel she should have gotten a nomination for Pinjar as well (I preferred her in that over Bhoot).

That year Preity was the actress with 2 Filmfare nominations (Kal Ho Naa Ho and Koi Mil Giya) which is probably what prevented Urmila from getting a second nomination for Pinjar. Although there have been many years when SRK and another actor, usually Amitabh or Hrithik, have each gotten 2 nominations each so surely there was room for both Preity and Urmila both to get 2 nominations each.

Something else they could have done is let Urmila's Best Actress Critics nomination go for Bhoot (and she won this award) but have her Best Actress nomination for Pinjar instead.

Oh ok. Yes, SRK hasn't produced or financed her films but I think when people say that he finances her career, they mean that all her opportunities and platform come from her close association to SRK as her education, network connections, and everything else were due to his money which got her to this point even if she's under the Dharma banner officially.

Tbh, I've taken great care to avoid most of these young actresses in their work. The few exceptions were because they were Sridevi's daughters or SRK's daughter and Ananya out of all of them is the one who makes me cringe most. The others including Sara at least have famous parents but with Ananya, one has to ask who was interested in Chunky Panday let alone seeing his daughter. So I can't see myself watching her films anytime soon but I'll try to keep an open mind. Zoya Akhtar has not been a favorite of mine either, even before Archies. I've always felt her films were just fine but nothing mindblowing.

Sadly he did not get the box office success then (and his biggest hit at the time was the regressive No Entry) so it's no wonder he switched to action films after Dabaang was a success.

I could never see Salman playing that role today even though the stigma of HIV is less now.

It's still quite shocking that Salman played that role. He has a macho man image and still he played the role of one infecting another person. It was a huge dare, wonder what made him do that?

No Entry isn't meant to be taken seriously. It was slapstick comedy so no one gave much thought unlike Vanga brand of movies which propagate misogyny and violence in a captivating way.

He was definitely more experimental in this era but I wonder if he did this film as a favor. I do miss the Salman of the 2000s though when he still had range and didn't play himself over and over. The most shocking part was seeing him come back in the movie when he's dying and stripped of all vitality and dignity.

Yes that's true, although I'd argue that even making such films as dumb comedies helps normalize certain attitudes. But I agree that what Vanga makes is worse.

That requires even more courage to do so. This is a good quality about him. Look at his public image and the role which is sort of Shilpa's character's culprit.
