IMO in terms of compelling storyline and performances, nothing can beat Khamoshi:The Musical.

There's a reason this movie is still loved, depsite flopping at that time

Bhansali has never been as authentic as with this movie

I watched it as a kid and loved it. I cried bucketfuls of tears.

Apart from Black and Guzaarish, I have loved all his movies. (including Sanwariya and Padmavat). Probably an unpopular opinion.

I have never watched it. I have enjoyed Padmavaat the most. My favourite movie.

Ok, come to think of it, it's not the entire movies of his that I love, but the individual scenes in his movies, and I think Devdas has most of them for me. Bajirao has many such amazing scenes too. I love the over-the-top drama he presents. It's so aesthetically pleasing. The last scene of Padmavat, I feel, is one of the best scenes in Bollywood history. The climax of Devdas is amazing too. The climax of Bajirao too. The fight between Raam and Leela when her mother dies and she sits on the throne. The entry scene of Jim in Padmavat. The scene in Gangu where Alia goes to confront that transgender, etc., etc. So, it's not the entire movies that do it for me but scenes in bits and pieces that I love.

And of course, the songs. The choreography and the set designs are otherworldly.

He was said to have been the shadow director of 1942 A Love Story. You can see a stark difference between Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s other movies and this.
