What about her mom, dadi, nani, pardadi, parnani and their achievements? None of them matter?

This is just a soft way of saying "We're rich and privileged and that has many benefits, but don't you dare fvck up and lose it."

---

Personally, I do find this attitude of "Saving Face" that not just Indians but many Asians have to be quite regressive. It erases the individuality of the youth and forces them to conform to the expectations and rules of elders or the image of the family.

I’m liberal and a feminist I have lots of strong opinions and feelings about how women should be treated in society but it’s times like these I simply can’t connect with the latest feminism movement because it’s no longer about equality but a clear agenda and some sort of weird revenge. It’s absolutely necessary for Abhi to talk about his mother whenever he talks about his father why?? Why can’t he just talk about his father and grandfather without being accused of patriarchy?? He even says “Ash teaches her” but we are going to ignore that part because it’s convenient for us to play the victim. You people don’t realise it but you’re ruining what so many women fought for so so long which was equality. It’s turned into a mockery now because all we do is look for reasons to be offended, upset and sad about anything and everything under the sun. Such a sad state of affairs

Which asians BTW?

Pakistanis? Bangladeshis? Shrilankans? Nepalese?

Or

Chinese, Japanese,Koreans etc ??

You talked about erasing individuality in the same post while calling every other nationalities "asians"😆

Why is it so difficult to call out Pakistanis and every other subcontinent people just the way you call out Indians?lol

RTH would prob be the last person on BWF to indulge in such tactics.

If you feel otherwise, why not come from your real ID and *call out*?😆

But he also said he didn't want to put that pressure on her. Sounds like he's trying to strike a balance.

I am not accusing her if using any tactics. Was only curious why a person of indian origin would refer Pakistanis and others of Indian sub as Asians? From her post it seemed she was hesitant to spell P.A.K.I.S.T.A.N.I.S

Also, how much do you charge to speak on her behalf?

😆. 200 USD for an IF post, 1000 for a tweet or FB post. Everyone, I can be bought.

I have no qualms about spelling Pakistani.
But in this case - I was literally referring to the entire continent. I'm Indian - I can spell but I cannot geography without a map. 😆

My best friend is Taiwanese and one factor we bond over is the intense family pressure to conform and defer to elders. And in retrospect, this phenomenon exists in most non-western cultures.
