Both are fantastic. Still in my playlist. But Lagaan is the winner if going by analysis of songs and intruments etc. Even though Tum Bin songs are more played at home.

does lagan have a single song which still can give you gooesbumps like this .....after 22 years the repeat value for Tum Bin is higher than Lagan
The entire score of Lagaan is the definition of “goosebumps” as far as I’m concerned…including the score that plays for the opening and closing credits, the theme music , literally every song in Lagaan (ghanan ghanan, o palanhare, Radha kaise na jale) …. Its not just the songs, I still even remember the background score 20 years later …now THAT is a score with repeat value …sad romantic songs is not the only genre of music with repeat value ….
This one u mentioned dosent really do much for me …and beyond existing as a stand-alone song, I don’t remember it’s cultural impact the way I remember Lagaans…
🤷🏼♀️
I mean it kinda depends on the mood. When I feel like something a bit more calming and serenading style then Tum Bin and when I want something more upbeat then Lagaan. Both albums are really good and are definitely on my playlist all the time.

I guess it depend on person to person... Lagan is not my type... It may catter to certain demographics but it certainly has no mass attraction when it comes to music being a hardcore listener of old. Bollywood I still can't stand any song in lagan besides radha kase na jale and that's to the least... Ar rehman at his lowest I suppose after yuvraaj... Yuvraaj isn't bad either it's experimental non conventional
The cultural impact u are taking is due to cricket and not music...... While if u look at Saleem sulemans Chak de India score it really does something extra ordinary which is way above than Lagan to my observation.... Chak de India title song became the Anthem of India then

Lagaans music had a huge cultural impact ….chalo chalo was used and spoofed several times for motivational montages including in kal ho na ho (the restaurant sequence) and was even used in the 2003 World Cup promotions back then, every school did versions of Radha kaise na jale , Ghanan Ghanan and mitwa on their annual cultural programs…
It could be your personal choice to like or dislike the soundtrack and that’s fine…but beg to differ with the view that Lagaans soundtrack did not reach the masses or didn’t create a cultural stir or is somehow inferior to the 90s ke dard bhare nagme type songs ….
i mean , there is a whole Wikipedia page dedicated just to the soundtrack and the reception it got - critically and commercially : https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lagaan_(soundtrack)

Lol what? You put Chak de music above Lagaan’s ? Lagaan has not just one but multiple songs which became a rage and they still find their place in every playlist. Can’t say the same about Chak De! So I don’t really know what you are even trying to say.
Tum Bin 🤍💕
