The financiers replaced him because they don't think he's a bankable actor for a jodi. However even if you brought any star, I don't think this movie will make back profit unless they get a Khan level star (which is not happening). Like even Ranbir/Alia was not the selling point of Brahmastra.

No, the movie was badly conceptualized and had less budget. 

600 crores? 

I am the only one who senses something sus when such huge budgets are announced when BW is struggling to make 150 crs for a decent flick?

I think the producers made clear - a late decision - that they would prefer to have a star acting opposite Samantha - for whatever reasons. Vicky opted out before they decided which actor would replace him. (to me a good decision - if one notices that one isn't wanted)

The budget is REALLY announced to be 600 cr??? That's insane and reaks foul play (like the 200 cr for TJMM).

Will always be very very sensitive with their casting strategy. 

What? 600 crores? Run Samantha and whoever the male lead is. Not worth jeopardizing your reputation and career for such eerie projects.
