It's his shitty choice of scripts. He occasionally gets lucky and that luck has helped extend his career. His sheer inability to give a bad performance also helps. At worse, he is mid. At best, he is spectacular. I would bet on him despite his hit or miss BO prospects.

I want to be optimistic about this movie but it's really a coin toss. It could either be amazing and once again save him or it could tank into oblivion and he has to wait for luck again. You just never know with Shahid.

I'd compare him to Saif more than HR though... Shahid is not stuck in a box the way HR is and has the freedom to do all kinds of stuff.

Karna called Draupadi a "veshya" with no moral standing as she had five husbands. So, for him, she might as well embrace Duryodhan. She was technically a "dasi" at the time and he claimed so in front of her five husbands, her great-grandfather, her two uncles - one who was King and the other who was the PM - and her husbands' teacher.

Nothing but "royal" protocol was stopping her husbands, Bheesma, and Drona from reigning in the Kauravas. Heck, Arjun could have launched his deadliest weapon then and there on Karna. He didn't.

We never hear about that as it's all hushed in the name of "Dharma." What Karna did was follow protocol too. Sure, he could have been the bigger person and let it go. He didn't. But calling it "rape" is completely ignoring the nuances of that storyline, and forging an unnecessary, modern revisionist take.

The fact is that Mahabharata is a whole lot more nuanced and sinister than people give credit for. It was game of thrones before modern game of thrones. If we label Karna as a rapist for this incident, then we have to label the Pandavas, Bheesma, Drona, Dhritarashtra, and Vidur as enablers of rape too.

Karna did not call her a "Veshya". He came up with the Disrobing idea. Everyone from Drithrashtra to Vidur to Krishna has accepted that it was a crime at different points in the story.

Bheeshm and Drona did react because they did not care

Unfair on Hrithik to be compared to Shahid.. Hrithik has delivered many giant blockbusters since his 1st film. he is the 4th Khan.

Shahid is survived coz he has acting talent, dont think he got huge fanbase. Also the newstars failed to capitalise like Arjun, Varun, Sid etc.

Why are people hating on Shahid? He's proved his mettle and I am all for him.

Its easy to give big hits and stay relevant..its HARDER to see failures and bounce back. Shahid always bounces back.

I also love his approach, he has delivered big time on OTT and Films. When things align, he really shines and when things DONT align he STILL shines.

His biggest advantage is that he has no hang ups and is not type-casted. His filmography is literally the definition of diverse acting work.

if this is an action film he will be miscast.
