What was the point of Akshara reading Abhinav's love letter?

What was the point of Akshara reading Abhinav's love letter at this point in time when the story is gearing towards a reunion? Abhimanyu already knew he was incomplete without Akshara and so will Akshara after the accident. I think I have mentioned this before in a different thread that one of the biggest reasons Akshara failed to give her marriage a chance was because Abhinav (out of fear of losing his family) never made any efforts to take a step forward in the relationship. Six years is a very long time and if he had showed anything in those years, it would have been different today. 

Abhinav was shown happy but he came across a disturbed Abhi and then whatever chaci maa told him will definitely make him complexed. He will start to think Akshara still loves Abhimanyu and he is not a good enough huband/father. He might start detaching himself in order to bring Abhira together because with the current situation, there is no way Akshara/Abhir will leave Abhinav. He might start misbehaving/acting negative to bring them together because with his positive attitude, there is just no way. CVs have already butchered most of the characters so now it'n Abhinav's turn. Again this is just a theory so it might not turn this way but why couldn't it stay the way it was. Abhinav would have never expressed his feelings and Akshara would have never learned about them. This would at least make it less painful for Abhinav. Now he has hope and it will soon be crushed. If not all, most of us wanted him to either die or reunite Abhira but certainly not this way. Abhira is the end game so can we at least expect makers to give him a dignified exit? The last thing we want is Akshara to get humiliated for choosing the wrong person to raise Abhir. The last thing we want is Mahima to be proven right with her mentality about the lower class.
