If Selfiee came before this
Would the outcome be the same?

AVPL is on Netflix...with subtitles (I don't know if in a Hindi dubbed version)...
I do wish Kartik success, too, but some movies should not be remade ( at least not in the way the remake is done...)

You were right ! ... After fairly giving Shehzada the 10 days promised, it barely crossed 30 crore.
Shehzada has been categorized as a full fledge 'flop' ... unfortunately
'Remakes' don't seem to be Kartik's forte after all ...
I suppose, yes...
Both movies had at least a slightly interested audience but I guess, both lacked the special touch of getting you as a viewer involved.
I'll watch them on OTT just to know what went wrong (in MY eyes), but even here, among the respective audience, the interest was luke-warm. Shehzada had only ONE show and Selfie only two (in only FEW cinemas in my region).
Anyone doing a AVPL remake would've had to work very hard to replicate a certain wit.

I thought selfiee was making more money
No BW movie will meet up to the 'Pathaan Standard' for this year.
All we're hoping for ...is for the New Releases to meet their budget.
Yes, in comparison to Shehzada, it will make more money, I suppose....but I don't think that the financial outcome will be satisfying.

I’m bummed about this, I really wanted this to work for Karthik. I had a feeling it would be a big hit but idk where and how things went wrong??? This sucks.
A lot of people never really thought Kartik's Bollywood remake could actually match Allu's AVPL,
but they were hoping that it could garner reasonable returns based on it's lower budget.

Nowadays we get one good movie after 6 months or so
The next big hig will probably be the Salman movie on Eid
