MT: Silliest memories about Hindi movies

I had "gajar ka halwa" yesterday and it reminded me of this cute conversation with my sister, who loves Bollywood movies as much as I do... 😳

My sis and I watching (forced to watch, because mum refuses to part with the remote) some silly movie with our mum.

Scene: Male lead at the dining table, his reel mother gets "gajar ka halwa"

Lame ML: Areeey maaaaa, tumhe kaise pata mujhe gajar ka halwa bahot pasand hai?

Le me: (rolling my eyes) abey ghochu, teri maa ko nahin pata hoga toh kya padosi ki maa ko pata hoga?

Le my sis: picchle movie mein alag maa thi naah, isiliye he is wondering, iss maa ko kaise pata

Le our real mom: (reaching for her chappal) dafaa ho jao, let me watch the movie

Please share your memories... 🤗

Traumatised memory of Baghban. When my mum finished watching the film, she got angry at me for no reason and started muttering how we would do the same to her and told me and my siblings off. I was like 11 years old, my sister 7, and my confused brother was 4. 🫠

Raja Babu is that 1 film, which I can't get bored ever in my life.

There is 1 scene where Govinda get to know that he is Orphan & his parents are raising him with so much which few real sons won't get. When he says "Maa tune kitna pyar diya hai mujhe" & every single time I will cry like anything. I am very close to my mother so can relate to that emotion.

This is my sweetest memory attach to this film forever.

Whenever a slightest adult type scene came on the movie i was ordered to go study and not waste my time on films. Even if the heroine appeared in little less clothes i was expected to look away or else - dekho kitna besharam hai ghoore ja raha hai... Ye sunne ko mil jata 😒

Kuch time baad i was automatically conditioned to walk away or look somewhere else when such scenes came

I can relate. My mum had banned all Madhuri Dixit songs 😆 maybe that's why I never warmed up to the lady's so called charm.

Also, my sister and I thought that the songs in which the actors wore multiple outfits were great songs. Chandni songs were our all time favorites only due to this reason.

Till date I never understood why Hindi heroes ate so much of "Gajar ka halwa"... why not jalebi or gulab jamoon?

Imagine watching that scene in Murder between Emran Hashmi and Mallika, and your dad is in the room? 😆 I don't need to imagine it, I've lived through it. 🤢

Imagine watching Jism with your parents and your dad pausing the movie and telling you to go because he suddenly realised what kinda film it was. 😂
