I never imagined myself writing something  religious , never ever🤭 as I had almost no knowledge about Mahabharata. But glad I took time to read some important parts and decided to participate. The experience was amazing.

Although I did submit few, I wasn't actually sure how Nano Tales were supposed to be untill I saw everyone's work.🤭. Glad I got this experience.

Once again thank you and congratulations. I didn't tag all due to the no. limitation.

If anyone wants to know how much of each of my Nano Dramas and Nano Tales is "what actually happened" in the text and how much is my "what if this character reacted this way" interpretation, you can read them in these books, which include the canonical basis of each story.

For example, Arjuna getting drunk with Kṛṣṇa and putting his foot on Satyabhāmā is "what actually happened."

What you presume about Kṛṣṇa raising Abhimanyu is explicitly stated by Satyabhāmā at Āraṇyakaparvan 224.11-14: all five of Kṛṣṇā Draupadī's sons were trained to fight in Dvāravatī, just like Abhimanyu, where they were lovingly looked after by Subhadrā and Pradyumna-jananī (Rukmiṇī). Satyabhāmā says that Keśava distinguishes them above Bhānu etc. (Satyabhāmā's own sons), and her father-in-law (Vasudeva) makes sure they're fed and clothed. Rāma and all the Andhaka-Vṛṣṇis love them just as much as Pradyumna.

Wow! Thank you so much for sharing these thought provoking reads. Will ensure to read with full justice and connect back with you.🤗

smiley27Congratulations to all the Winners and Runners-up smiley10

In fact, all participants are winners, by presenting your entries itself is praiseworthy, for that, everyone is a winner in their own unique way.smiley32

Congratulations - Donvale Flower Gallery

smiley27Simi, you put a great effort, and you did an excellent job finishing it with style. smiley10

Overall, there were 39 entries for the first round and 104 for the second round, that's demonstrating the competition's astounding success and showcasing the participants' passion for writing as well as the depth of their knowledge in the Epic  Mahabharat.

Thank you for the gift, the siggy is exquisite, and I will proudly display it in my siggy box.smiley42

Thanks Thanks And Regards Sticker - Thanks Thanks And Regards Writing Stickers

Round --1

Regarding the praised entries and the authors of those Nano Dramas & Stories--

There were a few entries that scored above 95%, and when I reread those nano stories to judge the exquisite narration, there was only a single mark separating the winner from the other four entries!!

----

● vaidharbhi95

for the Nano Drama

A Clever Move.

(Draupadi is angrily removing her jewelry with maidservant's help)

Maid : "My brother says wise never get angry !"

Draupadi: " How can Parth bring another queen to Indraprastha??"

Maid: "What if she's  not a queen, but a humble servant seeking refuge in your lotus feet?"

Draupadi (Smiling) : " As clever as Govind, Subhadra !!!"

How beautifully Draupadi expressed her approval of Shubhadra's stay at the royal palace as well as her inner anger! There was friendly banter between a condensed version of a lady's wrath at having another woman as her husband's spouse and a crafty princess' magnificent submission to win her heart. How lovely it is! Well written one!smiley10

for the Nano Drama

Kunti: You look as radiant as your father, the Sun God. But you are a mistake, an error of my childishness. Farewell, son. That is all I can give you, my precious. I am the most unfortunate mother, and, I know that my misfortune will ruin your destiny.

"You are a mistake, an error of my childishness" --- this single line defines the entire story of Karna. This is one of the best entries in this Mahabharat Katha contest! This line atoned all of Kunti's sin! A well written one!smiley10

● missFiesty_69 ●

for the Nano Drama

Kanha : Looks like a pigeon!

Arjuna: It's pigeon.

Kanha: Seems like a vulture.

Arjuna: Vulture it is.

Kanha: Its the majestic Garud.

Arjuna: Indeed!

Kanha: Parth, why wouldn't you tell me what you guess it is ?

Arjuna: O Kanha, you're Paramarth. Why would be I so foolish to contradict you ?

This brief exchange between friends demonstrates the writer's brilliance by capturing the bond, respect, and understanding between Krishna and Arjun. Excellent.

● tournesol ●

for the Nano Drama

Kunti: I am sorry, putri. I did not know it was you.

When a mother loses a son, her only desire is to see the rest of them together. To never lose them. I just acted like a mother.

On the last day of the war, Draupadi finally understood Kunti.

Yes...I expected our Desi Kate Wincelet would have written this. She has the ability to turn a few sparse words into something profound, giving that statement the weight of an epic!!

-----------

 HereAsMyself

for the Nano Dramas

After the War.

Panchaali walking. Uttariya caught in doorway yanks her back. Glaring, she pulls at it hard enough to tear it. Yudhishthira walks in.

Yudhishthira: He is dead, Panchaali.

Panchaali (glaring at him): Unlike my pain. Unlike my memory.

Panchaali walks off. Yudhishthira sighs. The torn uttariya flutters in the doorway.

●●●●●●

Made with Love.

Vidura: Coarse fare, Vaasudeva, unlike any you must have consumed before.

Background lights up. Woman with plate of food seen running behind laughing child. Krishna, dimly visible, smiles, implying only he can hear it.

Foreground lights up. Krishna, still smiling, takes another bite.

Krishna: No, wise one. Not for years.

------

The first one won more than 95 marks! I had never before read such a creative expression in such few words. Shows the writer's caliber.smiley27

The second one is reflecting a devotee's dedication and God's submission to his devotee. Through these sentences, the full scene could well be envisioned. Well written one.

for the Nano Dramas

Sikhandin (blowing conch): "Hiding behind Asvatthaman and Drona, your life's last seven days ... Face your death!"

Bhisma (laughing): "Wait, Amba!"

Sikhandin (uncomprehending): "Who? 'Mother' ... Ganga?"

Bhisma (blowing conch): "Pandu's five sons want to fight me together. I'll enjoy that battle first, then die."

Bhisma's arrow breaks Sikhandin's bow. Sikhandin falters.

●●●●●●

Dasarni (shrouding Sikhandin's corpse): "Lady, who are you?"

Sthuna: "Sthuna Yaksa. Your husband doesn't need my manhood anymore."

Dasarni (aghast): "A hero's cremation ..."

Sthuna: "Ashes of my organs!"

Dasarni (distraught): "Manhood was his life. Womanhood in death?"

Sthuna becomes male. Sikhandini's body, bifurcated by Asvatthaman's sword, has one breast dangling.

●●●●●●

Yuyudhana (doffing armour): "I told Duryodhana, 'Kill me gloriously, playmate! I've seen enough slaughter.'"

Bhojya (cleaning his wounds): "My childhood ended when you fought Sauviraraja for me."

Yuyudhana shrugs.

Bhojya: "My ten playful babies lie lifeless outside ... ten days already. When I can go to them, what will I see?"

-----------

Your descriptions of the warfare are delightful to read. You've woven a few intriguing stories with a few not so prominent  characters, that made these stories special. Well written ones.

for the Nano Dramas

Krishna's Purpose in Mahabharat: Dharmsansthapan!

Uddhav:  Why didn’t you stop this whole destruction?

Krishna: Vidhata’s Vidhan destiny! A person is made aware time and again of righteousness, but he ignores his inner voice. Then only death can make him face the truth! From this destruction, righteousness will burgeon. Humanity now has the boon of Geeta!

●●●●●●

Paritranaay Sadhunam, Vinashayach Dushkrutam!

Bheeshma: “Mahabharat has ended finally. Had the sides reversed that Pandavas ruled Hastinapoor empire and Kouravas asked for share.  I wonder whose side would you then be on?”

Krishna (smiling): “Do you genuinely believe, Pitamah, that all this bloodshed is just for a piece of land? Righteousness is my side!”

●●●●●●

Draupadi’s revenge: The ultimate fruit

Draupadi (Lamenting): All my sons are dead, how?

Krishna (holding her, consoling): What else did you expect, Sakhi? Revenge is boomeranged! You throw it at someone but it always comes back to you. That’s why forgiveness is the greatest virtue! You refused to forgive Duryodhana, outcome is you becoming childless.

I absolutely loved this one a lot. Krishna made Draupadi understand her Karma and the outcome of her revenge. In a way, this is simply the moral of the epic Mahabharath. It is another 90+ marks entry.

●●●●●●

Kuchh hua, Bas Kasam li!

Krishna: Parth, pain at your son’s death is understandable; but your oath to sacrifice life……not pardonable! When will you understand the larger purpose of this universe? Draupadi vowed to tie her hair only with Duryodhan’s blood. Each one of you lives in your tiny silos refusing to look beyond.

All entries are well written ones. 👏

Best wishes to all the IF authors.

Round 2 : Nano Tale

Assessing 104 tales at once is both a joy and a laborious task.

However, I must admit that the enthusiasm and depth of knowledge displayed by our authors in such a creative manner truly astounded me.❤️

● BrhannadaArmour

for the Nano Tale

"Can't ... get ... out!" Pariksit whined, inside the snugly tucked deerskin.

Remembering Abhimanyu, Subhadra hugged Uttara.

******

Mahabharat highlighted human relationships and bondings till the end, which was highlighted in this Nano tale. Good one.

----------

● metacrisis

for the Nano Tale

At the gate of Indraprastha rejoiced the five elephants, with the sixth, their queen, approaching.

*****

The regal tradition was underlined in this Nano story with a delicate and unique grandeur for the queen. A well written one.

-------

● So-So

for the Nano Tale

Bhima was entrapped! Yudhishthir answered Dharma-related questions, cursed Nahusha was redeemed, Bhima saved from death.

*******

This abridged Nano tale beautifully recounted the prominent Vana / Aranya Parva story.

The succinctness with all the details garnered praise for this entry.

-----------

● RainOfDew

for the Nano Tale

"Lakshmi", said Krishna. Rukmini smiled as she felt her Krishna calling her name.

*******

An etheric moment at the abode of a Divine couple!

clever way of presenting the empyrean feeling.

That is what makes this Nano story distinct.

------

● Physics_girl

for the Nano Tale

Lasting merely 18 days, Kurukshetra battle carries lessons for many more than 18 centuries after.

******

Captured the essence of the Epic and presented it in a succinct and lovely manner. An excellent one.

----------

● missFiesty_69

for the Nano Tale

The criminals and the silent witness will pay a price for your tears, dear Draupadi.

*******

In this brilliant Nano tale, Krishna gave Draupadi the assurance that both the sinners and the mute witnesses would face punishment, which was a prophecy of an impending war.

---------

● Moonks

for the Nano Tale

"Who are you Madhav?"

"I am what you want me to be Parth", Krishna smiled.

*****

Feelings, not many words, flow in a nano story. The grandeur of this  tale is the ability to communicate the full story without the use of any narration. An excellent one.

-------------

● DelusionsOfNeha

for the Nano Tale

Krishnaa, Yagyaseni, Draupadi. A multifaceted personality and she's mostly known for her five husbands.

*****

What a terrific way you explained  how Draupadi was sidelined despite being the prime character of this Epic.

This single line is an outcry of anguish about her diminutive portrayal.

Very well written one Neha.

------------

● HereAsMyself

for the Nano Tale

Arjuna tells no one he saw Krishna weeping with Abhimanyu’s first bow in his hands.

******

The essence of this Nano tale was based on how the Mahabharat highlighted numerous human flaws and deep thoughts of a prophecy and philosophical conundrums. Great writing.

----------

● MaDiee

for the Nano Tale

Story glorifying values.

Story fighting rights.

Story enlightening knowledge.

Story establishing dharma.

It's epic - Mahabharat!

***********

This caught people's attention because the writer did such an excellent job of condensing the entire epic into very few words!

One of the best entries in this whole Mahabharata contest!

-----------

 Bee222

for the Nano Tales

Draupadi clasped her saree tighter. Long after the ordeal was over, she still felt naked.

●●●●●●

Motherly love drowned by fear. Kunti just hoped her child would stay afloat.

*******

I realised when I read these entries that they were not written by an average writer, but rather by a writer who has the ability to look into a woman's heart and understand the deepest suffering and anguish.

The first one was scored more than 95%. As I said, all these entries in the 2nd Round  are praiseworthy ones.

-------------

 oye_nakhrewaali

for the Nano Tales

Her baby wasn't just Bharatvansh's future, he was Abhimanyu's last memory for Uttara.

****

The duality in a royal queen's life is underlined in this Nano tale as she gains motherhood after losing her husband.

●●●●●●

Satyavati wasn't greedy, but she was ambitious. Only the ambitious can achieve greatness.

The writer emphasised through this Nano story that,Satyawati is the one who defined and initiated the Kuru Pandava's  birth of conflict, which ultimately has disastrous catastrophe, one of the top scored entries in this contest.

------------

 Loving2Missing2

for the Nano Tales

Devyani loved Kacha but married Yayati. Her revenge against Sharmishtha became her bane in marriage.

*****

The love triangle and it's consequences described in brief in an excellent way.

●●●●●●

Kindama’s curse to Pandu brought powers of nature to incarnate as humans to accompany Krishna!

The emergence of five natural forces to aid God is a novel perspective on the entire process. An innovative concept delivered with precision

-----------

 vaidharbhi95

for the Nano Tales

Babruvahana unleashes lethal arrow ...   Arjuna Collapses ...

Slayer of grandfather Bhishma lies slain by own son !!!

*********

The scene's backdrop was conveyed in a very powerful way by using word play with  an author's authority.

●●●●●●

Sweat trickled down Bhima's forehead , each drop dissolving his pride. The monkey's tail didn't move.

A well written one on Bhima and Hanuman's combat.

●●●●●●

Blood oozing from Barbarika's slayed head washed Krishna's feet.

May you be worshipped as KhatuShyam !!

All  these  three entries are exhibiting  the writer's in-depth knowledge, which is truly impressive.

 The.Lannister

for the Nano Tales

“Couldn’t you have stopped the war?” “Not when you couldn’t even stop your son, mother!”

●●●●●●

Truth battled injustice & emerged victorious from the smoke of the undying pyres on Kurukshetra.

●●●●●●

Mathura sacrificed. Gokul delighted. Gokul sacrificed. Bharat delighted. No good thing happens without a sacrifice.

*******

Even though, there's no scope to narrate, build characters, or create setting but these lines still has a deep meaning. That is the beauty of these nano tales, it is clearly visible in these well written stories.

______

Best wishes to all authors.
