Seeing all these RRR names next to Taylor Swift, Rihanna, Lady Gaga is surreal. This might be RRR's best shot at an Oscar nom.

Best Original Song, Motion Picture

“Carolina” from “Where the Crawdads Sing” (Sony Pictures) — Taylor Swift

“Ciao Papa” from “Guillermo del Toro’s Pinocchio” (Netflix) — Roeben Katz, Guillermo del Toro

“Hold My Hand” from “Top Gun: Maverick” (Paramount Pictures) — Lady Gaga, BloodPop

“Lift Me Up” from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” (Marvel Studios) — Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, Ryan Coogler

“Naatu Naatu” from “RRR” (Variance Films) — Kala Bhairava, M. M. Keeravani, Rahul Sipligunj

It's all about lobbying and campaigning. Although Nattu nattu is definitely a good song, there have been way better films and songs in India that never got nominated.

Goes to show the power of numbers and box office.  Money talks. Same way AR Rahman’s best was absolutely not Slumdog Millionaire.

Anyway this is HUGE. Would love to see RRR go all the way. South movies leading the way and how.👏

Of course campaigning is essential to Oscars. But you can't just campaign if you don't have any buzz. RRR is insanely popular in the states (who knows why), and that mixed with a very aggressive push from Rajamouli is helping.

RRR is getting that Oscar nomination I feel.

Naatu Naatu could also win. Man, who would've thought. This is gonna open a whole new avenue to indian cinema.

Films with dialogues less than 50% in English do not compete for Best Picture at the Globes. Not that RRR should be anywhere near that category.

Naatu Naatu is getting an Oscar nomination for sure. Don't think it will win. Probably Rihanna, or Taylor might pull a surprise in the wrong category because of her massive award push for Short Film.

Variety has actually moved it to #10 on the Best Picture predictions. So it does have a shot. Goldderby still has it far away from Top 10.

Long shot, but I think Rajamouli might be the surprise nomination at Oscars for Direction.
