Manushi cannot act to save her life. Expressions are poor and dialogue delivery really bad. At times I felt as if she was trying to copy Deepika from Padmavat and Bajirao Mastani.
She and Akki had no chemistry at all. Total mismatch for a celebrated couple like Prithviraj and Sanyogita. The jodi did not do justice to the lore.
The film is too slow and boring. Even otherwise good actors like Ashutosh Rana and Sakshi, Sanjay Dutt, Sonu Sood etc are wasted in it.
The narrative seemed slow and choppy. Poorly edited. Jumping from one scene to other.
The film had potential though and some dialogues were quite feminist, focusing on right to choose and referencing how Krishna married Rukmini and married off Subhadra to Arjun, man of her choice.
Akshay is a lazy actor and wasted opportunity he got. He had some good lines and scenes but he never worked on his dialogue delivery or voice modulation or body language. He sounded like his any other routine film.
Lot of lines from elders of Prithvi and Sanyogita are regressive AF. Something that audience of today will not tolerate. SLB is smart enough to tone down regressive, orthodox mindset and chauvinism of past in his period films so that modern audience can sit through the film without cringing. It is true society back then was chauvinist, ageist, sexist, but no one wants to hear those lines today onscreen.
Film is too slow and boring. I could not even sit through it during TV premiere. Wonder how anyone would have sat through it in theatre screening without urge to doze off.
Manushi looks okay but cannot act to save her life. She really needs to do major work on her acting, dialogue delivery, expressions, voice modulation.
The film is a wasted opportunity. A good subject wasted in hands of wrong makers, cast.
