That’s because it feels like she’s not consistent with her stand on issues.  She’s outspoken about issues in the U.S. and is very liberal leaning, but does anyone even know where she stands in her motherland on socio-political issues?

Indian right and US right is not same. US left leaning doesn’t have to be Indian left leaning. For that you have to know India’s politics. 
There have umpteen discussions on this. Some very facts and knowledge based here on IF too. But, I know this will not register no matter how many times someone explains. 😆

You have to know India’s politics to say that last line. Don’t form your opinion by reading NYT and WaPo.

The actual left is loudly protesting and in solidarity with the Iranians. Of course you won’t find CNN and other centrist channels covering any of that. The left you are referring to is the Kamala Harris and Priyanka type of “left”. Left only for optics.
