Is there anyone to blame for bad acting currently?

I mean is there anyone who started this trend and why it seems everyone sucks? We have so many actresses now who seriously cannot act for nuts and a very very very small handful of those who can. I am not saying the actors are any better, but it seems most popular actresses now are all copies of each other and literally all act the same, barring a few.

Obviously looking good is the main priority, but maybe nostalgia is taking over and saying "back in the day" actors and actresses looked good, but even the most popular ones could act (barring only a few who couldn't).

Every average actor being lauded as India's answer to Meryl Streep or Lawrence Olivier or James Dean or whatever.

They actually believe their own publicity and don't see the need to improve.

Imagine! Alia was hailed as the most talented actor, male or female, in entire India, when there are the likes of Mohanlal, Fahad Faasil, Vijay Sethupathi, Parvathy, Kani Kusruthy, Nimisha Sijayan around. And these are only from Malayalam cinema (except Vijay) because those are the peeps I'm most familiar with. Other industries surely have their own oustanding artists.

Any one of them could act circles around whatshername. But acc to KJo, she's already better than them. So where's the incentive to work hard and improve? Acting is a skill like anything else. if you don't keep working on it, you won't improve.

Same thing happened with Kangana. Part of her failure was due to her batshit crazy behavior. But part of it was also she clearly thought she was the best.

Once you feel you have nothing more to learn, you're stagnating.

Subpar actors keep getting work despite flop movies and flop acting. There’s no incentive to improve their skill.

In the past we’ve seen that if your acting isn’t Oscar worthy, you can still make up for it with charisma and screen presence.

But how will that happen when your personality is blander than Dal without tadka.

She's the main one around among female actors. Other women are barely seen. Ranbir, Ranveer, Varun are all praised to the skies for their average acting. Who else are we talking about when we discuss Bollywood?
