The latest episode of Bigg Boss 19 has triggered outrage after contestants Neelam Giri, Tanya Mittal, and Kunickaa Sadanand made body-shaming remarks about Ashnoor Kaur. A clip from the episode went viral, showing Neelam saying, “Jurassic Park dekhoge?” while pointing towards Ashnoor, who was standing with Pranit More. Kunickaa was seen laughing, which further angered viewers.
The insensitive comment has not only upset fans but also sparked a wave of support for the 21-year-old actress from her peers in the industry. Jannat Zubair, a close friend and fellow actor, shared her thoughts through an Instagram Story. She wrote, “A person's body is not public property for jokes and opinions. It’s 2025. We should’ve evolved past body shaming by now. She’s on that stage because she’s talented, confident, and unstoppable — not because she fits someone’s idea of a ‘perfect body.’ Proud of you, @ashnoorkaur, for holding your head high and being you.”

Soon after, Ashnoor’s Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai co-star Rohan Mehra also spoke up. In a strong message on X, he wrote, “Body shaming is unacceptable. What happened to @ashnoorkaur today was wrong and needs to be called out. Respect and kindness should be the bare minimum. Shame on you, @iam_kunickaasadanand, @neelamgiri_, and @tanyamittalofficial,” adding a thumbs-down emoji to express his disapproval.
Actor Sumbul Touqeer also came forward, calling out the contestants’ behaviour. “Kindness is too expensive for these people to have. Stay strong, Ashnoor. The audacity to body shame the prettiest girl in the house — funny people,” she posted.
The comments from inside the house have once again raised questions about the culture of ridicule in reality television. Viewers are demanding that the makers address the issue publicly during Weekend Ka Vaar and set a clear boundary between entertainment and humiliation.
While the controversy continues, one thing stands clear — many within the industry refuse to stay silent when dignity is crossed for the sake of content. The growing support for Ashnoor reflects a collective stand: body shaming isn’t drama, it’s disrespect.
