Khushi smiled widely after learning that she and her father were supposed to go to Payal’s house. That meant Aman’s house too. She felt God loved her the most and was giving her surprises.

Like a child, she twirled around with a huge smile and her dupatta got stuck in a drawer handle. She tried to pull out her dupatta, but the dupatta was twisted around the drawer handle. When she pulled the dupatta forcefully, its ends got torn.

“Oh Gosh! What has happened? I should change the dupatta,” she said to herself. But, at the same time, her father came and said, “Adv. Verma ka phone tha. We are getting late. Let’s go.”

She was tensed, “Papa, can I change my dress? Look at my dupatta.”

He replied, “Don’t worry, it’s only a little thing. No one is going to even notice.”

“But...” she stopped as she was scared. He said, “Okay. Go, change your dupatta.”

She smiled and ran towards her almirah to find a good dupatta and changed it, leaving the previous one. They reached Payal’s home. Shashi met his friend while Khushi searched for Aman. She looked here and there and finally found him.

“Hey, how are you?” she asked him.

Aman was chatting with his friends. He turned and found her smiling at him.

“Hey! You look beautiful, Khushi,” he admired her.

She looked down, blushing, and said, “You’re also looking good.”

“Really?” asked Aman. She nodded her head, but she started coughing, so Aman offered to bring her water.

Payal noticed Khushi, and the waiter brought water for her. Khushi drank it.

“Thanks, Payal,” said Khushi.

Payal said, “No problem, Khushi. By the way, why are you alone?”

Khushi smiled, “No no, actually I was with Aman.”

“Aman? Ye kaun hai?,” Payal asked and Khushi laughed at her question.

“Don’t make fun of me, Payal. I know that Aman is your brother.”

Payal said, “Aman is not my brother.”

Khushi became angry, “Payal bas bhi karo. Mazak ki hadh nahi hai tumhari.”

Khushi said so because Payal cracked jokes and played pranks all the time.

Shashi heard the argument and scolded his daughter, “Is this how you talk, Khushi?”

“Papa!” Khushi said.

Her father said, “Shut up Khushi. Say sorry.”

“Sorry Payal,” Khushi said and left with her father.

She was disheartened and couldn’t stop thinking about who Aman was and why he had lied to her. “Liar,” she said in angst.
