In this thread I attempt to list all of Lata ji's firsts, how she was the original trailblazer, feminist, badass icon of Indian cinema and music industry even before the word feminism made it to Indian dictionaries.
Today singers enjoy esteemed status, higher pay, get awards, negotiate terms with producers all thanks to a colossus called Lata Mangeshkar.
