A.R. Rahman's music as of now

Is it just me or does the music he composes nowadays not leave any impact?

Mimi's soundtrack was meh and Atrnage Re also does not leave a mark. The songs are fine, but this is not the A.R. Rahman of the 90's and early 2000's. Even Highway (2014) was such a gem.

Has he lost his touch? Discuss.

Nope, i loved Mimi's soundtrack. Chak Chak is also quite addictive, except for Sara's horrible dance.

Completely agree it's not like the Music is horrible or anything. Good catchy songs, but they don't standout and will be forgotten in a year, kinda like his music for Blue. Pritam is better for these kind of commercial movies.

I think a certain fatigue is sure to set in after a 30-year long career which includes a Grammy, an Oscar, and so many superlative albums.

I think the guy just needs to reboot for a bit. But I am loving the Atrangi Re album. If anything I am getting fatigue from the Main teri Girlfriend Tu Mera Boyfriend type songs that are so popular at the moment! We urgently need ARR back in top form!

Rehman no longer chose singers according to demand of song, he just pick the singer who is in current trend whether that singer suite the song or not he no longer care , rehman and likes of anu malik are trying harder to be relevant compare to other contemprories of  90s

AR Rahman's best was in 1990s. He declined in 2000s except for RDB, Guru, Slumdog Millionaire.

I do not remember a single outstanding album from ARR post 2009.

Mimi was by him? Such an ordinary album it was. I cannot believe he scored music for it. 

He has plateaued now. 

Lost that magic he had in 90s. None of his post RDB work compares to his previous work.
