She doesn’t love him though she fully appreciates his goodness and help. She thinks he is engaged to Priyanka. And most importantly, he is the guy her family does not like her meeting, and the sort of family she comes from that’s a big deal for her no matter how hypocritical the family is.

So even after all this if she doesn’t except Anurag’s love, then why is she the villain? I will tell you why, it’s because the hero must always be shown to play the saviour, even uninvited. And if the heroine doesn’t accept or turns away his help, then she is considered dumb, ungrateful etc etc.

ITV will never progress because at the end of the day all serials end up with heroes playing zabardasti ke saviours and being the heroines emotional and financial saharas.

There was a spoiler a few weeks ago saying tht Pishimaa will force her to get married to Anurag and leave the house becoz no one stands by her side.

At first I thought it was again one of those bogus spoilers we get every day.

BUT.....seeing how the story is evolving now with all the hungama happening at the Durga Pujo, all the humiliation Kajol goes through by the hands of her own family and the hungama tht is still to come at her home, I am thinking tht maybe this spoiler might actually come true.

Its this double standard shit tht pisses me off like hell. Also Kajol portrayed as the damn victim all the time is hell annoying.

The initial promo during the wedding week was a clear indication tht Anurag would become her strong pillar of support. Even Montage gives out tht message, so in tht case they hv been pretty clear from start.

What I do not like is : being a woman myself tht a woman whose character being questioned and assasinated, is still standing there like a fuc***g crybaby and allowed them to humiliate her....what bullshit is that !!!

Pardon me but I think you have completely missed the point of the discussion. This is not another Kajol bashing/abusing thread as far as I can understand.

We are actually having a healthy discussion regarding WHY female leads are shown weak by the makers and WHY the male leads always have to play saviours.

It’s not at all about what the promo or montage says. Support doesn’t mean that they turn their FL mute and let the hero be her spokesman. Support can be in many other ways as well. Why can’t they show her speaking up and him supporting her that way. So just because they have been “clear” doesn’t mean that this concept is not problematic.

See when I say MLs are glorified and their antics ignored, it also includes that fact that Anurag is being a complete weakling when it comes to Priyanka till now. The way Priyanka talks to him and interrogates him, where does his bluntness go then? It’s all brushed under the carpet because he is the saviour of the heroine so baki sab maaf hai uspe. It’s all about projection and perspective. The heroine is weak and needs support. And the hero will be that support whether he has been asked to be one or not. Round and round and round it goes in ITV.

I wish ITV showed more female leads take charge of their boundaries and things as well- this seems like a standard trope in ITV from whatever I know. I have not watched much ITV but I recently heard about Anupamaa and came across a scene where she did the defending of her friendship with ML Anuj, and annihilated the patriarchal accusations of her family and samaj, and for a moment I thought how amazing it would be if Kajol showed that kind of drive to stand up for herself (personally not concerned with other ITV FLs because TSBTSP is the only show I am watching currently)

Kajol need not speak up for Anurag right now, because like you said, neither does she love him, nor does she see him as a close friend yet- he is just a well wisher for her so far and its unfair to say she is ungrateful if she does not accept him in any way. She just needs to do the bare minimum for herself without Anurag having to constantly rush in to save her.

Dont get me wrong, I wasnt supporting Kajol or Anurag or whatever. I completely agree with wht you mentioned..

I also have been saying this all the time : Kajol needs to stop being a crybaby and needs to take a stand for herself, irrespective if she gets sahara from Anurag or not. She is an intelligent girl who knows the difference btwn right and wrong. Why she doesnt speak up is beyond me.

A girl doesnt always need a guy to protect her or take a stand for her. She should take a stand for herself....its called self respect. And yes why makers always need to show female leads as besahara or bechari is just beyond me 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️.

Why they always need the male lead to stand up for them. But then this is the biggest problem in ITV ; its like the audience also got stuck in time. Whenever someone is trying to come up with some progressive stuff, showing the female lead strong, its like the audience also rejects this type of development. This is why they keep coming up with regressive stuff all the time.

And yes Anurag also needs to open his mouth when it comes to Priyanka. Have said this many times too. His temper seems only reserved for Kajol, but when Priyanka enters his personal space, he loses his tongue too. I dont like the tone in which Priyanka is demanding answers from him....who the hell is she 😡😡.

She is acting as if she is his wife instead of JUST a college friend and Anurag keeping quiet abt this is whats giving the wrong message to her. Anurag for once needs to set the record straight and tell her bluntly tht she should be minding her own damn business and stop interfering in his life

It is about time Kajol steps up and shows Noyna her place. If she can calm down Noyna, then her mother will calm down too. Noyna needs to save her energy for Arjun's Bhabhi. Now that she is not going anywhere, Noyna will have to deal with her 24/7. I hope the CVs turn Kajol to be a strong character and not a cry baby. Also, she has to deal with Priyanka and Nani. now. (The list keeps adding up). Hopefully, with Dr. Anurag at her side she emerges as a super strong woman.
