Can Kajal stand her ground against her annoying sister & mother? 😠

So, Pishima is a gone case, so could care less as she's already a beaten dead horse for me, especially with the cringe mahanta and token defense lecturing over Kajal. Chatterjee chatterbox is complete filler so could care less.

My point of concern is why can't Kajal take a stand for herself? I get that prioritization is important but if your own sibling is blasting amidst a big venue like Durgo pujo, especially to the breaking point. Come on, enough is enough! Anurag supporting Kajal is good and all, but why can't Kajal stand her ground?

Noina & her mother are alienating her from her own character & self-respect. Noina's got her own reasons to do sibling rivalry but she's such a crass at berating her own sister, who is a woman herself. Chondona's behavior is what is outright outlandish towards Kajal. Mukherjee is just one spineless family, no offense. Even if Kajal spent 10 Lakhs over Meghana, the girl's doing it at her own merit. If Onu wanted, instead of relying on her sister for her fees, she could've applied for a scholarship or fee waiver (whether this turns out to be a scam or whatever, only next episodes would reveal it but can't Onu fill out her own form or apply for fee waiver or something?)🤔Flabbergasting blooper to fool the audience by the makers, nothing else. If not, the siblings could work part-time or something to support with the expenses or something whether it's Kajal's three sisters or Opu. They were proclaiming Bishu's store and the money from it as if they work at the store day and night. Not denying that it is a family store built by Bishu but ONLY Kajal and Rakesh work there diligently.

In order to glorify their ML and make him the saviour/hero the writers have turned Kajol’s character on its head.

Kajol was the girl who single handedly broke off her marriage to Arjun and slapped the daylights out of him.

She faced off against the creditors and shouldered the responsibility of running her family business.

But like in all ITV serials, just to please the fangirls, the male lead is glorified at the expense of the FL. The same thing is happening in Udariyyan. Finally Tejo is out of a toxic marriage, tu lo and behold the sauve Angad appears as her sahara. Anupama needs an Anuj.

This is all the fault of ITV writers. But bash tu hamesha FL he hoti hai and the ML leads antics get either justified, ignored or glorified.

Hi dear, I'm not interested in what goes on in other shows as this thread pertains to what the makers are churning out of Kajol particularly.

They have changed Anurag's arc in regards to him being unable to realize why he drools over Kajol, will not deny that. That has been irritating thing to see in terms of he not properly realizing what the hell happens to him or what he used to be when he was introduced in the initial days.

But my problem is why the makers are making Kajol a constant doormat to be thrown under the bus by her own family nowadays. Prime concern is why can't Kajol take a stance for her dignity, (whether it is Anurag or someone else coming to her defense is of secondary concern). I'm don't think this exactly pertains to glorifying Anurag.

The way the makers are weaving the storyline to something else just makes them look confused as hell.

I know you are not interested. I just gave an example because I am trying to explain how ITV makers generally operate.

I am giving you the reason why Kajol won’t be shown to stand up for herself. Because then how would they show Anurag doing that for her? And similarly how generally MLs are always shown as saviours because apparently all FLs need sahara according to these makers. So yes it does indirectly pertain to glorifying the male lead.

This is not the Kajol we know or the Kajol this show started out with. Now Anurag has to be there in every scene to speak for her or defend her honour. I hate it more than anyone but I also know this is what the makers will keep showing us. Because this is what they think most audience (majority being women) like to see. Wrong perception on their part I am afraid but a strong one nonetheless.

P.S. As for the writers for this show, the mere fact that they have 4 vamps at the moment speaks for their creativity in itself.

Agree so much to everything said in this thread. They are butchering Kajol’s character to make Anurag do the saving and its really really annoying, the fact that she is being a crybaby. I mean it’s amazing to see Anurag do all of this but first show KAJOL taking the stance and then him acting as the support system when she has to fight these battles

I also have a huge problem with the things the characters are fussing about. They are fussing about a grown a** woman going out on her own without seeking permission- why does she need permission in the first place? Two, what’s wrong EVEN if Anurag and Kajol were actually dating? I remember that Arjun and Kajol had dated 6 months before shaadi wala hungama- if the family had no issue there, what is this 180 degree?

But I also realise this is ITV and I need to leave a good part of my brain elsewhere to process it. I am here only for Anjol because I find them cute + I am now hopelessly crushing on Karan Suchak and I really enjoy Ishita’s performances. So my expectations are very very low right now

Agreed. Pretty much like can't she take a stance for herself? She's doing so much for her family but her family doesn't do much in terms of contributing to the business or arranging the money/finances for themselves. It's a one-way relationship, clearly.

It's pretty much sad to see another show that had potential to perform be served on the platter to the TRP vultures to quench their thirst. 😔

The promo showed a sheltered girl stepping up and taking responsibility when the realities of life came knocking on the door. I had expected a character like that of Rekha in Jeevan Dhara, sacrificial and who in the end is forced to choose between romantic love and love for her family. And chooses the latter. She had romantic entanglements but had to sacrifice those to support her family. It was sad but it showed a woman stepping up to fill her father's shoes and then her brother's. I get it ITV would need heroes but I had not expected the butchering of a character with so much potential.

Ishita's previous series that I have watched, Rishton ka Saudagar...Baazigar and Bepanah Pyaarr, both showed her as a strong female lead and I guess that was my expectation going in, a naive character getting fast on the learning curve and emerging as someone who can roll with the punches. The writers have taken the original concept of woman empowerment and deformed it to serve as an ode to Karan's character Anurag (where he fights for the heroine at every corner) and I love Anurag but the show that I started watching was the journey of Kajol, a strong willed young woman facing everyday difficulties to support her family and overcoming them and not a damsel in distress who needs to be rescued at every turn by the man in her life. I hope that the current TRPs lead us to the original story of a girl "who is seedhi (straight laced) but not a bechaari (helpless)" as Ishita had said in many of the earlier promotional interviews.

Good to read the different pov about why kajol not taking a stand for herself..From beginning it was shown kajol strong pillar of support has been her father..After his death all went chaos ,she has become the punching bag of her mother and noyna..Rest of the family members are mere spectators..Regarding her pishima, she supports kajol but she does not have that strong personality to voice out her opinion in front of chondona ... Slowly and steadily Anurag has become that strong pillar of support in her life..He always fights for her dignity .Sadly kajol never sides up with him but instead asks him to go away. Example during the shraad of her father and saying why Anurag had to do a tamasha.. The Durga puja incident at the NGO and at her house which is coming up will be the tip of the iceberg for kajol.Once Anurag will confess his feelings and going by the hints, dialogues that's when kajol will do the unexpected..All this while ,she has wanted only two things from her family esp her mother trust and support..In vain she has got only humiliation..I feel she will take a stand this time for Anurag against her family and I think Pishima prayer will be fulfilled.Durga ma visarjan is done and i have a gut feeling kajol will leave the Mukherjee house head high as Anurag's wife..Her father always considered kajol as the Laxmi of the family but once she leaves it will be the downfall of the Mukherjee ..

Ishita’s Pragati was a character that rarely comes by on ITV. She was the epitome of strength. Stubborn to the core. Only wish that wasn’t an Ekta show because she tends to put in such stupid twists. The way Ishita played Pragati was unbelievable. So many shades that character had. And I remember her styling for that character got so popular every media portal reported on it.

After playing a character like Pragati, you think Ishita would herself be satisfied with playing the damsel in distress, when initially she was promised something entirely different. She is a thorough professional and extremely secure as an actor but what the CVs are doing by making Anurag her spokesperson to get seetis and taalis from fangirls is just not fair.

Have been an Ishita Dutta fan since Baazigar and yes she plays really strong female characters and plays them really well therefore this show really irritates me as they are wasting the talent of so many good actors by being so formulaic.
